Flying Sofas

We venture to Echo Park California.
Jessika is an artist and Christian a Visual FX Producer.

The place is full of Jeff's childhood nightmares.
They were married by the Easter bunny, which Jeff finds freaky.
Disturbing dolls and shocking art is not Jeff's idea of serene.
Eyes are everywhere and Christian is worried they are headed to Grey Gardens.
"Piling up crap," Jeff says.
It is a kitchy e-bay explosion.

Christian is completely uncomfortable in his living space.
He has a bar and a beer before going home.

What you did with this place was nothing short of a miracle!!!!  Initially my mouth was on the ground with the amount of darkness and sadness on display in the abode.  And when you did your reveal, my mouth was equally on the ground with how you took all that darkness away and somehow turned the sadness into something beautiful, just beautiful...

The fact that what you were working with was so far removed from your own personal aesthetic and you designed something so very beautiful showcases your amazing talent better than I think I've seen it showcased as of yet, and you've blown my mind in the past, but this one...

Not to blow more smoke up your bum, but I can, and do,  watch  HGTV all weekend long trying to absorb some design acumen into my talentless mind.  And then on Tuesday night with your one hour of therapy/interior design, you blow the doors off anything I watch (read:  study) all weekend long!!!  I suspect your talent can't be taught in a class, and I do realize you don't do it by yourself.  So, in short, kudos!!!!!  Jeffrey Lewis and  Team!!!!

P.S.  Dear Bravo, please pay Jeff Lewis and Co. whatever they want to be on all year and make their show at least two hours long.  I need more therapy!!!!!   @bravotv , @jennipulos , @jljefflewis

Wow...Jeff has really come a long way. When this show was first advertised, I thought it was going to be the madman in charge of the asylum. But now it turns out, Jeff and Jenny really do have insight to the basics of how and why people end up with crazy homes, clutter and design issues. Jeff's brutal honestly, which I LOVE, works well within this context! This last show was one of the best. I love how they bring Zoila in to get her reaction to it all too. Well done IT and Bravo!

I love this show! The cast is great, I love decorating shows so this is a perfect match. Its more real than some of the other reality shows. Jeff can be tough but he does seem to have a good sense about people and from what I see each week, not only does he do a beautiful job on the remodels, but appears to be pretty good at helping people with their personal issues also. No beating around the bush with Jeff thats for sure. He gets to the true reason for discord in the home and its refreshing to watch. Jenni, Zoila and the crew are entertaining and real! Love it

Jeff Lewis and Company are the only people who should have a reality show! Thanks for being human.

We need a Jeff and Gabe Wedding special.

Jeff, you got me all warm and fuzzy in this episode. You were SO nice to these people, in your talk and your design! I just love you! (not in a creepy way!!!)

Jeff you showed more tolerance for the 'art' work than I would have, I wanted you to toss most of it out. This is the crap people had in their studios in art school, it is very passe/cliche at this point. Good artists know that you have to purge all the time or you can't create anything new! I think next time you have a client with the claim of being an artist, ask them if they are 'licensed' like having an MFA, then if they say yes  you can remind them that artists are not  the most qualified to curate their own shows. I certainly know this from experience. I didn't have nightmare, just VERY aggravated by the pretentiousness of the "Not Art" and Jessika's unresolved issues. I wouldn't even call it art therapy, and it certainly wouldn't even have a place in the Visionary Museum in Baltimore, where they normally curate freak shows.....

i really hate how all you do is recap the shows. are you only writing a blog because you are contracted to? did we get anything out of this post? wish you'd say more about the process or how things go behind the scenes rather than just giving play by plays. this one doesn't even make sense.

As always Jenni, you, Jeff and Zoila crack me up!!  Wow, I don't know how this couple was picked, but really Jeff was facing an uphill battle with this house and he did a GREAT job for them.  I think the wall color was too dark and too much of her "art" crap was on still on display, but the furniture choices were wonderful.  It was eclectic and that was what they needed; I just thought the dark gray walls and black used for the underside of the loft was still just too dark and depressing for my liking.  But then, there was the pepto-bismol pink entry way, so really how could even the great Jeff Lewis fix that hot mess?

@lbeebe how very rude and close minded of you... each their own...... and you call yourself an artist *shakes head*

 @edtuo

I have to agree! Jenni has so much more personality than that! I don't even read them, I just comment on my own observation of the show!

@emmaeville Not only an artist, but art instructor and a native to the SF Bay Area, lol, can't get more liberal than that. Do you think the art world is all warm and fuzzy? Picasso was an asshole. Contrary to popular belief there are cannons of aesthetics in art. This is why people breakdown in crits, they come to art school with a  "Look Ma I made Art" attitude *shakes head*

@lbeebe  @emmaeville cannons???  Perhaps canons...  unless you are intending to shoot your aesthetic out of a cannon and into their apartment ;-)
