Brad dishes on the stress of nearly missing the Monique Lhullier show.

on Mar 6, 20130

Getting to the Monique Lhuillier show was more stressful than putting thirty looks together for the Kate Spade New York presentation. I have never been stuck in worse traffic, and Gary and I were freaking out so hard. At one point, we hit a curb and went up on the side walk. We both felt bad for the driver, because he made a bad decision that almost cost us making the show. Monique and her team were so sweet to hold the show for us. It was nuts once we got there, because everyone was already seated so there was no way to go except down the runway. It was so next level! I have always wanted to walk down the runway at Lincoln Center, and I finally got my chance.

I love you Brad. So happy there is a season 2.  Do not ask me how this 40 something stay at home mom relates to you but I do.  I love your Gary. Do not EVER do anything to hurt that man.  He is your rock. I hope this season we see a  Gary and Brad wedding. Ok, enough of me gushing on the cutest couple on Bravo.

Best wishes to you!

Brad, I am not a fan. I think what you did to Rachael was wrong.  I also think that you complained every step of the way with how hard you worked for Rachael. Even now your team does everything. You order people around like a diva. (You are no diva). You have not been around long enough to be a diva, It's like you want all the fame and perks without putting your time in. I think you may not be as sweet as people think you are. I think you know exactly what you are doing. Crazy like a fox.  I got your number.

TEAM BRAD all the way!!!!.  I can't get enough of your show, you obviously made the right decision to leave Rachel and started your own business.   You clearly have lots of potential a unique since of style and class I admire you and certainly wishes you all the best.

Obviously when someone quits a job, they are "going out on their own" aka going to do something else.   Brad said that he needed some breathing time to be with his spouse and that Rachel's schedule was wearing him out, but he didn't say he was retiring!  He has every right to do what he wants with his career, and it is isn't his fault that he is very telegenic and that lots of opportunities came his way.  Rachel was just jealous about his popularity, but should have been supportive and happy for him.  I hate when employers assume their underlings are "their property" and not individuals with dreams and power of their own.

Love your show and you.  I enjoy watching you and Gary together and will remember for a long time the Les Mis production last year!

Brad - you are Fabulous!  I don't think you were wrong in leaving Rachel - and I adore her and watch her religiously - perhaps you could have said I would like to go out on my own - instead of saying you weren't interested in the business and at least she would have understood - I am sure she is aware that folks apprentice and move on - as they should and build their own talent - however - in light of Taylor it probably hurt her - I suspect that you have tried or did apologize and try to mend the fence or rebuild the bridge - I do admire you for always saying positive things about her and giving her the credit which she is due - I love your show and like your style - you and Rachel aren't competiting - you are totally different shows with different talent and experiences and the broader the audience the better!  Cheers to you and Gary~

It was nice what you said about Rachel on WWHL but let's face it. You were wrong what you did to Rachel. Maybe the whole story wasn't told on TV but what was shown is that you lied to her and then went out on your own. You should have told her the truth and maybe there wouldn't be these awkward moments. You wouldn't even be on Bravo or have some of your clients ex. Demi Moore without her. I can't watch people when they are so disloyal. I don't blame her for ignoring you.Team Rachel all the way!!!

Loved seeing the new episode last night and also you with Andy. Your talent is wonderful to watch and enjoy your outlook on life. No longer a Rachel fan, her brusque behavior is dreadful.

Team Brad!

Hi Brad ~ Firstly, I want to congratulate you on your achievements, especially your position with Kate Spade...WOW!

It was really fun to watch the kick off of season 2 last night! I don't know what possessed me, but I also watched Rachael's show (I think I just love fashion), but I was SO UPSET when I saw the brief shot of her and Roger saying hello to Andy...shame on her for ignoring you! You are such an amazing stylist and wonderful person, so I'm not surprised that you took the "high road" when Andy asked you about your relationship with her. Honestly, I think she's really jealous of your success! I hope you will just continue to enjoy all the fruits of your labor...you have worked very hard to get to this point in your career, and should be proud!

LOVE you, kiddo...I can't wait to see how the season unfolds!!!

Oh, and hugs to Gary...what a great guy you have as your partner :-)

Love, love, Loved the show, except one thing, it wasn't enough time! One of the beauties of last season was seeing such a healthy, positive relationship you and Gary have.

Thanks for taking the high ground, staying positive and appreciating the blessings that are in your life.

You nailed it with Stacy Kiebler's Oscar dress. It was the best on the carpet.

Glad to see you back. You are such a breath of fresh air!

Haters gonna hate!! Love you Brad- you are a riot and I'm so happy you're back for Season 2! You have every right to go out and be everything you want to be, if we all stayed working for someone else the world would be a very boring, one dimensional place.

Brad, the way you speak of your "team" is they way Rachel spoke of you, and treated you...if you wanted to go out on your own, that was fine, and had you done it with grace, I'm sure she would have supported you...I have to agree with Andrea 36, can't watch you acting like Rachel, when I can watch the real thing!!  You have her to thank for any success you have, and might be nice if you acknowleged that.

Will never watch your show, after what you did to Rachel. Hope you are not back on next season.I really don't know how you are back on this year ? you look like a fool, with all you movements, Weird

Keep repeating this to yourself, "this is just a tv show".  Don't take it so seriously.  These people do not discuss all their private business on camera, so no one will know what happened between employer and employee.  Personally, I could never work for that woman, so much talking about how she feels, how nervous she is, when does she actually work?  Blah blah blah.  Very hard to work for someone like that, so I do not blame anyone for leaving.

@Bravo2003 I don't get what he did to Rachel. What is he supposed to do - never work again? Not create his own career? Was he owned by her?

Seriously - I do not get it.

@Bravo2003 NO, Brad didn't lie to Rachel. He gave a lot of interviews when he specific said he even gave her the 2 weeks notice . I used to like Rachel but she is the one who lies a lot.  Team BRAD all the way!

Rodger is that you? With a brilliant talent and fun social skills, why work for Rachel. Its like asking a child to stunt their growth.

Agree.  When someone wastes so much time talking about their nerves, their fears, themselves, makes me wonder why they are so unsure of their own talents. Sure people are nervous, but RZ carries it way too far.  Do not see her creating, only worrying.  Does she actually do work?

Brad and his team are a breath of fresh air.  He works hard, expects team to work hard too, and they are moving quickly ahead in the business.  Being genuine is better than pretending. Real talent comes out, those with little tallent fall by the wayside.

@Holycrap Holycrap is so right!  Why watch a shoddy replica (Brad) when you can get the real deal (Rachel).  The bottom line is this:  Zoe has that 1 in million combination of inspiration and savvy that makes her a brillant stylist/designer. Brad is, well, just Brad.  Don't get me wrong; I can't style to save my life.  But, I can recognize talent when it's there.  Brad got the short end of the stick on that one when you compare him to Rachel.

Brad will, of course, always speak of Rachel highly----it's his only recourse to salvaging his "I'm nice and meek don't pick on me" image that garners sympathy from his viewers.  Watch him carefully...it's so painfully obvious: MANIPULATION.  Seriously, he's just not a decent person.  And, if you can tell that from TV, where spin hides all of your imperfections (if it's conducive to the show), then image what he must be like in real life.

@Holycrap Every time I have seen Brad interviewed about Rachel he ALWAYS gives her credit and appreciation.  BTW he said he gave her 2.5 months notice and did not say he wanted to be a househusband.  I guess there will always be 2 sides to the story and the truth somewhere in the middle.

BarbaraLou

@ampatone Are you all unaware that Brad gave her two and a half months notice and tried to leave on good terms? It's a career decision, it's not personal! Also, Brad doesn't speak badly about her...he's a gentleman!

@delta2013  @Andrea36 I think you need to take you're own advice. LOL! Except insert blog instead of tv....

@BarbaraLou  @ampatone I think the point isn't just how you do it, but what you do.  If someone tried to rob you blind, but did it with a smile and a "thank you," I think you would still be just as offended.

He should not have used the contacts he made through her to jump start an otherwise non-existent career.  If he actually had any talent of his own, he would have done it "on his own" (just bearing the skill set he inherited from Zoe, not Demi Moore).

Also, he's not that dumb, speaking out against Zoe after what he did to her would kill his "I'm a nice guy" facade.  If you buy that and think he really is a gentleman... I've got this great bridge I'd love to sell you (only 200,000 euros).

@BarbaraLou  @ampatone Are you aware that you don't know the facts? I don't care about either one of them. But lies are just that....

@BarbaraLou  @ampatone Agreed! Brad is a class act.  Wouldn't you expect that an assistant or intern's ultimate goal is to eventually go out on their own?  Unless the position was advertised as an  indentured servant. I'm pretty sure the world is  big enough to accommodate one more stylist!

mtkn
mtkn

@bpster  @delta2013  @Andrea36 I agree with Andrea36.  Brad's ok, but he's no superstar like Zoe.  He needs to put in time before he can claim the glory.  To be honest, he seems fairly mediocre when it comes to styling. He's seems to be more of a so-so TV personality...Don't feel bad Brad, not everyone can be like Rachel.  Hey, you got a TV show which is a lot more than some other people (who have a lot more talent) have gotten.  But, then again, they are either like Zoe or working for Couture, Chanel, etc.
