The Most Bizarre and Hilarious Fake Names Celebrities Use to Check Into Hotels Incognito

If you see a reservation for Mr. Drip Noodle... Johnny Depp is in the building.

Travel logistics are tricky when you are a big-time celebrity. You can't just let everyone know when you are checking into a hotel... because knows what kind of crazies might show up? That's why the biggest names in show business adopt aliases, some of which have been leaked over the years (and therefore likely now retired) and revealed to be very creative. Here are some of our favorites.

Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie

According to the 2008 book Waldorf Hysteria, by Fritz Gubler, still-missed late-'90s power couple Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt used to travel as Mr. and Mrs. Ross Vegas. Obviously Brad had to come up with a different name when he started stepping out with Angelina Jolie so the new couple started checking in as Bruce and Jasmine Pilaf — those are the names they are rumored to have used when staying at the Parker Palm Springs where they shot the infamous "Domestic Bliss" W Magazine cover story. Clearly the now-divorced duo have food on the mind as separately Jolie has been known to go by Miss Lollipop and Pitt as Carl Con Carne. Aniston, by the way, has been known to use the name Mrs. Smith, which is interesting, given that Pitt's roving eye famously first set sights on Jolie on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp likes to be different... which explains his penchant for using such aliases as Mr. Stench, Mr. Oddpong, Mr. Drip Noodle, and Mr. Donkey Ass. "I derive a lot of pleasure from booking airline tickets or checking into hotels under absurd, often indecent pseudonyms," Gubler quotes him as saying. "I do it when I am certain they don't know who I really am. They probably think I'm weird — well I probably am — but they have to play along with it. It's hilarious to get a wake-up call," he continued, "and the guy has to say 'Good morning Mr. Stench, you have to get up now."

George Clooney

The life of an actor must be quite boring: How else to explain the apparent delight they take in adopting mildly amusing pseudonyms and trolling hard-working hotel staff? George Clooney once got a real kick out of making staff call him by the name of another actor, his Batman and Robin co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger. "It was the funniest thing in the world," he claimed, according to the Herald Sun, "because they knew I wasn't Mr Schwarzenegger, but they had to call me that, and it was really enjoyable watching their faces when they did." Fun!

Jessica Alba

Remember the Sony Pictures hack of 2014? Besides compromising the company and staff morale, it revealed a whole list of celebrity aliases. Tom Hanks was revealed to have used the name of vintage Scottish comedian Harry Lauder, while Sarah Michelle Geller nodded to the classic book/movie Valley of the Dolls with her alias Neely O' Hara. Hats off to Jessica Alba, though, who chose to give herself the unarguable name Cash Money (her company is valued at $1.7 billion, FYI — and her husband is also named Cash).

Kim Kardashian

No one said your alias had to be realistic — even if you are a reality TV star. Kim Kardashian is apparently fond of checking into hotels under the name Princess Jasmine, a character she has also enjoyed dressing up as.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé

According to Us Weekly, Jay-Z uses the not-exactly-low-key alias Frank Sinatra, whom he name checks — "I'm the new Sinatra" — in "Empire State of Mind." Everyone knows that Beyoncé's alter ego is called Sasha Fierce, but when she checked into New York City's Lennox Hill Hospital to deliver Blue Ivy in 2012, she went by Ingrid Jackson. So keep an eye out for that name on hotel registries.

Tom Cruise

Apparently Tom Cruise is "a great laugh and is really friendly to everyone. He has a great sense of humor." That great sense of humor is why he once went around telling people that he was staying at an English hotel under his "porn name." Actually Cage Hunt is not his porn name — which, as everyone knows from unscientific Internet quizzes, is the name of the street you grew up on plus the name of your first pet. It's a combination of two of his finest roles: Ethan Hunt from the Mission Impossible movies and Lieutenant Colonel Bill Cage from Edge of Tomorrow.
