Amid Eight-Figure Divorce, Harvey Weinstein Sells Hamptons Vacation Home at $1.4 Million Loss

The sale follows an expensive divorce settlement with ex-wife Georgina Chapman.

Harvey Weinstein sold his Hamptons vacation home for $10 million amidst his eight-figure divorce from Georgina Chapman — which might sound like a real estate coup without additional data.

But — appropriately for an ever-evolving scandal that seems to get only deeper and more entangled by the day, there's more to the story. Indeed, Weinstein paid $11.4 million for the property — so that cool $10 million sale price hardly looks so attractive anymore.

According to Variety, he sold a 9,000-square-foot waterfront home on Gardiner's Bay in Amagansett, New York that has seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms and was purchased in 2014. The house sits on 1.93 acres. Just let that sink in for a moment: two acres of prime Hamptons real estate, unloaded in a fire sale.

The disgraced movie mogul had a screening room in the basement of the house with a lounge and a snack bar, appropriate for a big-time Hollywood exec. The publication notes that the former couple still owns additional properties in New York City and in Connecticut.
