The sixth season of the two-time Emmy award winning series Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List begins with great A-List news: Kathy Griffin has been cast in a special guest-starring role on Law & Order: SVU, or as Kathy's mom, Maggie Griffin, calls it, Law & Order: SUV. Kathy "smells gusst star Emmy," is excited and a little nervous. She hasn't acted in a while and she doesn't want to blow a chance at yet another Emmy award. Kathy does what any adorable American ingénue would do: she calls Liza Minnelli for advice.

Kathy travels to New York with her tour manager, Tom Vize, in tow. Kathy's nervous about how she's going to do next to more experienced actors like Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni and Ice-T. Before she has a nervous breakdown, Kathy rushes to see Liza, and the experience is both A-List and encouraging. Liza, who recently guest starred on Law & Order herself, runs lines with her and gives her some great advice on how to tackle the gig.
