And so let’s get to Vanessa. When she said she wanted a dress that would feature the hips, I knew she was sunk. Even with an expert as skilled as Tressa (and do yourself a favor and behold the genius that is Fierce Couture… yes look it up and prepare to be amazed) that was just the opening the judges needed to drop Vanessa’s line. I will restate here what I said to her in week two when the bottom 3 were me, Vanessa and Kathy. I think it was either me or Vanessa that would be dropped. While we were sweating it out on the firing line I leaned over to her and said “You and I have very little in common, but I am so proud of you and actually pleased to be standing here with you. You and I are the only ones bold enough to stand alone with a unique vision and the inability to blend in. I commend your courage and whichever way this goes… thank you for being you and allowing me to be me." Sometimes my castmates and I would call Vanessa by name, but most of the time we just called her Baby Gaga. It’s too bad Vanessa won’t be on hand next week to actually meet with and work with the original.
I am so very looking forward to next week when the remaining designers get to work with Lady Gaga. It is clear that she is very smart and from what I have gathered fun, insightful and very generous… this one is going to be special, and I am not going to miss it.
Hey David- I saw some of your work on your website and it looks really great! I am currently an architecture student at syracuse, so i did appreciate your taste of clothing and fashions that were shown on the show. And the judges did not understand the "stark" color choices- but they have to understand that those are the colors of that paint the architecture world. Its a real shame they weren't able to see past that. Your garments surpassed in appeal and quality than those of Vanessa. (sorry to the previous poster who praised her work)

I'd just like to say that i read your blog this week, looking to see if Vanessa was a blogger but i see she is not :( I hope she reads this though. I think what you said to her was kind & brilliant! You're so right, it's a breath of fresh air to have designers who don't design to please the cookie cutter massive. I really hate to love these shows because it drives me nuts that 3 or 4 people can speak for the population of women. Excuse me, but how many women have a boys body, flat, flat, uncurvy & more flat. Those women could TOTALLY pull off her dress with the big side pockets! I lost 170lbs and let me tell you, i'm 125lbs and i'd rock that dress out in a heartbeat. I think it's sexy and different. So Vanessa, keep doing what you're doing, girl! You've got fans! Me & my best friend (who also lost a lot of weight) loved your dress this week and would wear it in a heartbeat! My picks for this week were #1 Merle (girl your dress was wearing me out, it was so fabulous & sexy, sexy, SEXY!) Patrick #2 WOW!!! another super sexy gown! and #3 Vanessa! Short, sassy & fun! I really liked the DJs outfit too (sorry! i forgot your name it's on the tip of my tongue!) It cracks me up when people say "me & my girlfriend couldn't go shopping together bc the fabrics are the same" *whine, whine, whine* little rich folks. Well gee, i'm so sorry you're wrapped up in something so petty. Our days on this Earth are so limited and if THAT is what you want to spend your time worrying about well then it sucks to be you. So childish. Really. Oh and asking the DJ if he'd play 4 songs off of one album in a set... hmmm what about when bands go on tour to promote their new album and they play almost all of the songs from it...? Whatta concept! Anyway, enough negative... i'm enjoying the show & Merle & Patrick, i'm routing you two on from NJ!!! Keep on rocking it! -talia from NJ
