"As each designer introduced their collection and I saw their work unfold on the runway it made me so proud to be a part of LML."

on Feb 3, 20100

It's been real - Kathy and Emil and Native Rose are victorious! What a finale! (How cool was Fergie? Positive, confidence building, supportive and kind - thanks for celebrating the designers rather than turning their world upside down in the last hours before the launch.)

I love that the finale was aired in 2 parts. While watching last week's episode, the stress and chaos (especially for Kathy and Emil) had my stomach was in knots and I knew the outcome. Listening to the teams reflect on our critiques as part of the creative process was awesome. We (hosts/judges) took our job seriously and are proud to have played a role in the team's evolution. As each designer introduced their collection and I saw their work unfold on the runway it made me so proud to be a part of LML. There can only be one winner, this is a competition, but in life and fashion Eric, Galina, Merle, Thai, Kathy and Emil are ALL WINNERS - BRAVO!

Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.

The entire season was a waste of time. The concept was silly. The professionals did not NEED the wannabes at all. If the wannabes were truly talented, they would have pursued a fashion career earlier in life. Instead, they sat around watching the pros do all the heavy lifting for them! It was ridiculous. The winner was as irrelavent as this kitschy show.

I just could not believe Merle's very long and unprofessional look of disbelief when they announced Kathy as the winner. You learn to clap and smile, then dis later in reality.

Who invites us in order to join Rue La La? Site says by invite only and I don't know any members. TY

Congratulations Kathy - you really deserved to win. I loved your line including the peices that the judges didn't like. However, I am super disappointed at what I see on Rue La La. The peices all look cheap and not well made. It makes me so very sad because I was prepared to buy at least three of the outfits. So what happened? Is there going to be the opportunity to buy the outfits as they were actually designed on the show?

I agree with Pr1ncess & KH. Meryl's line is more versatile and unique. Her garments can be converted into other pieces. It's like buying one and get one free. I think Kathy's collection was way overrated by the judges.

I personally was routing for Eric since day 1. I'm very sad that he didn't win, but Kathy's line was GORGEOUS and I had a feeling she would win. I liked a lot of Merle's clothes, but I'm getting bored of her same tricks... or I got bored.

Overall this was a great season and I wish Eric, Galina, Merle, Thai, Kathy, and Emil a great life! You guys all won our hearts!! I'm sure all of your lines will be launched one day!!

Can't wait for the Launch My Line of '11!!

I think Merle's collection was the most cohesive and sophisticated, both in design and color palette. It deserved to win, and I think the judges went for the simplest designs to replicate, rather than who had the best vision and execution. I also think Merle and Thai had the best working relationship...it was clearly focused and delivered some spectacular outfits.

Kathy had an elegant evening gown, but besides picking the fabric for her pocket dress, had really nothing to do with its construction, as far as I could tell. I also found her sense of color to be...simplistic at best. Eric's line was fun and flirty, with built-in marketability to boot, but I don't think his vision was as complete (or elegant) as Merle's.

And a question...since the winning line is going to be sold online, just which retail outlet floors would it potentially be strewn across? That was a ridiculous excuse.

Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the outcome, and thought that the verdict reached by the judges delivered a blow to the credibility of the show. So unfortunate.

I think the judges made the right decision. The dj's line in comparason was juvenile. The fabrics were horrid and they were sewn badly. The evening gown was a beautiful color the beadwork was a wow factor but it was a shade too slutty to be considered classy. The zipper lady's stuff was rather interesting but in my opinion, you have visible snaps and zippers, and how often do you really need to convert evening wear? How about convertable everyday clothing? Its rather james bondish and it is neat. Overall the jewelry lady had the best most beleivable clohting line, She stretched it a bit with some of the necklines and bareness. The clothes looked like they were made better than the other designers and She had some show stopping colors. Bravo jewelry lady i hope you sell well

I liked some pieces of Kathys collection but come on people are you blind Meryl had the best collection hands down you fashion people don't know anything about the average consumer its a recession and if we invest $300 and can wear the same outfit two different ways that is great. You guys should reevaluate your fashion sense because you made a big mistake.

I don't get it ! Why did you diss the retail ability of Meryl's garments? Contrary to the statements made on air, the garment pieces would be no more likely to be strewn across a department store floor than any other retail garments.

Other clothing outfits are sold with coordinating pieces retailing as separate SKU's and so would Meryl's convertible garments. The consumer gets to choose which pieces they want to wear and which pieces are most flattering for their body type.

I believe that the judges made a very short sighted decision... More SKU's = more price points for the consumer and >PROFIT MARGINS for the retailer.
