I had to draw your attention to our Mad Fashion: Learning to Sew series, in which Izzy proves she's a "Renaissance bitch" by sewing some hair pieces together and Jake makes Chris a very special pillow. Let's just say neither of them should quit their day jobs to become seamstresses.
Chris' client this week was swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen, who needed a breathtaking ballgown for the Met Ball. This was an incredible opportunity for Chris, and he needed to go all out to compete with all the other incredible designers who would be represented at the event. And the dress he had planned was probably one of the most intricate yet (see above if you need convincing).
There was a great deal of shopping to be done, but Matt and Jake really got the best assignment -- a trip to the local goth store to pick up a leather neck corset. Because what outfit is complete without a proper leather neck corset.
Although the outfit neared completion, there was the small matter of the exposed boob. Since Chris was fairly certain Chrissy wouldn't be into rockin' the Lil' Kim look.
Chrissy and John loved the dress, but they weren't too sure about the leather neck corset. (And yes, I am just trying to use "leather neck corset" as many times as possible in this recap). But with a little adjustment Chris eventually convinced them.
Well, he convinced them for a few hours anyway. Then Chrissy decided that she just couldn't commit to the leather neck corset (See, I wasn't kidding!) and asked for something new. So with nothing but a hope and a prayer and a whole lot of feathers, Chris came up with something just as spectacular. In the end Chrissy got to strut her stuff with confidence donning some true Mad Fashion for the the Met Ball. Hurrah!
