Amanda

Amanda is feeling confident after her Photo Assignment win, but knows what she has to work on.

Mar 16, 20090

There was another e-mail on the computer letting us know that we have another photo shoot and there would be a bus to pick us up. When we get downstairs, I see a big yellow school bus!!!

So I was thinking we’d be doing a shoot with kids or in a school or something.

But when we pulled up and walked down to a football field with football players, I was so excited and curious. When Tyson and Nicole let us know we would be doing a shoot about movement and sports, I was excited! I have been an athlete my whole life and so I’m pretty confident that I’ll do well.

I sort of feel like I’ve been skating through the competition and no one is really taking me seriously. So I know if I want to do good here, I have to rock this shoot!

The next day Nicole comes over and tells us that she has our new photos! Right when I saw mine, I couldn’t believe I got such an amazing shot!

I gave my all in this photo shoot and have absolutely no regrets.

Then Cory called and told me I won the shoot! I can’t think of words to describe how I felt at that moment!

I have been making so many sacrifices to be here. I’m a single mom, so I’m not working and to leave your 10-month-old baby is the hardest thing in the world. So to finally get some reassurance that all of my efforts aren’t going unseen is amazing! I’m not going to leave this house with nothing. I want this sooooo bad, with every little cell in my body, so I’m glad that I’m doing well. However, when I won, there were a lot of people that feel they did a better job and basically rained on my parade. But all they are doing is making themselves look jealous and ungrateful in the long run. Their true colors came through.

For winning this shoot, I won a casting call with Bloomingdales! I had the chance to become the face of Bloomingdales in a huge shoot!

I feel so lucky that I’ve even been given the opportunity to try.

At the casting, the clients let me know that I did a really good job, I had a good walk, and I knew how to model the clothes.

I was so close to having them pick me right then, but they said I might need a little work. Which is fine. I’m just glad I got good feedback! The next day, it was elimination, and I’m feeling pretty confident.

They called my name after doing my catwalk, and all of the judges said that I did a good job, but I needed to work on my walk.

Perou was so mean though, I feel like he would get his point across if he was nicer. He told me that I was “forgettable” which hurts since I’ve been giving my all to stand out.

That’s what I’ll be working on for next week …

Amanda, you are the best, you are going to be the second winner of Make Me a Supermodel. Let's take Holly's case, they thought that she was not strong enough for this industry, and she resulted that she was more versitile than all three guys. You have won two photoshoots in a row, you are going straight to the top. Yeah, you are a mom, and your baby is there, but there is a way that you and your baby can be together, don't let your baby keep you from becoming a model, because you are doing it for him. We understand you, and Jordan has nothing on you.

I totally understand what Amanda meant by saying her and Kerryn looked the most "American". It wasn't a bad thing she was saying! Goodness Frances, let's not take things out of context. Amanda keep up the great work!! You're my favorite! Keep staying true to yourself!

Amanda, Don't let Maggie Rizer and Perou get you down. They say they're not heartless, but they are. I can't believe Maggie acted like she knew why you were crying after knowing you all of an hour. Keep loving your son and modeling hard--you're way more gorgeous than Maggie anyways!

Three cheers for moms! You are a smokin hot mom! What a cute boy you have! I'm a mother too, and I know that daunting feeling that you don't have the time or energy to pursue your dreams with children. You show that it can happen and I think that is just amazing. Your son will see the things that you are doing not only to better his life, but working hard and being ambitous... and he will grow up and appreciate you even more! Keep rockin it!

Oh please! Frances, I know thats not what Amanda meant. Just so you know, Amanda has a half black baby and I'm sure she thinks her baby looks just as "American" as she thinks she does. Just because someone is born in America doesnt mean everyone is going to think they are American by just looking at them. Everyone's perspective is different. Its not bloomingdale's fault for someones opinion. I hate when people try and make an issue out of nothing.

Does anyone else think that Amanda looks exactly like Crystal Truehart from Oxygen's The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency?

Amanda, I was offended by your remark that you and Kerryn are the most American looking people in the group. I am an American, born in Connecticut to American parents. My grandparents and great-grandparents were also born in America. I don't looking anything like you, however. I am a Black, American woman. There is nothing in my heritage or background which makes me any less American than you or Kerryn. I imagine that the producers prompted you with a question in order to create talking points for that ride in the limo. You didn't do a good job in expressing your point of view. I plan to also write the producers of this show and Bloomingdale's for perpetuating a false picture of what "all American" looks like.
