Dearest Journal,
Hey.
So…
I made it here. I certainly didn’t expect that one. I’m just starting to become comfortable with the whole being-filmed-all-the-time thing. The first week was quite a wacky adventure. I didn’t really expect to come into this and be a top performer right away … but I didn’t mean to cut it so close and end up near the bottom.
The first photo shoot was really a disaster. I expected to come into this, receive direction from some experts, and use what they said for my shoot. Nope. I’m stuck in a box with no idea where the camera is, totally cut off from any advice the mentors or photographer could provide. Not a great start.
The catwalk didn’t go too smoothly either. I’ve never walked on a runway before and my nerves are totally out of control. I honestly can’t remember a single thing that happened while I was out there. Thankfully the judges are giving me a chance to improve. If I want to stay here there’s really no option for me but to take what they said to heart and work hard so I can impress them next week.
Oh, and everyone in the house is getting along so far. Phew.

your one of my favorite models, and as i can see many other people think the same. i won't make this boring nad just say i love you and your adorable like everyone else, so that if you really do read these you'll get some variety. you seem so young and inexperianced, but not in a bad way. sometimes it corrupts the model, like that girl... mmm i won't say the name, but for now she's still on the show and she seems a little into herself. its not salome, or that girl who grabbed your thing-- i cant remember her name- and its not montahue or amanda. i think that pretty much narrows it down then. but shhh dont tell. anyways, good luck dear Colin, we're all rooting for you! and even if you don't win just look on the bright side, you made it so far, and chicks are gonna be swarming over you when you get back. hahah you won't be a virgin much longer.

You remind of one of my really good friends! I can sort of relate to you. I'm in pre-med and just started doing some modeling this past year. Keep it up! You're taking direction really well and you look like you've improved so much already! I honestly hope you win! And stop obsessing with being a virgin! You're very good looking and you seem smart, and if that doesn't get you a girl, maybe the show will!
I'm assuming that you go to UVA, yes? I'd like to apply there for a Ph.D after I get my M.A., and I currently go to school in Roanoke. I think it's awesome you made it on the show, and even though I don't know you personally, it's cool that I can watch you on television knowing that you're familiar with the same part of the country that I am. It makes me want you to win even more because I feel like I can relate to you more than some of the other models.

Stay confident, you are no less of a model than anyone else on that show. Just because they have been doing it longer, doesn't mean that there better. You are the dark horse in this competition, but we know that you can win it all. I'm rooting for you! :)

My God... You stood out to me the second the show started. You are smart, and so ridiculously handsome it is a sin. Also what I like about you is that all of this doesn't seem to go to your head. Your success will come. This is your time to shine, and while you are working on your body, don't ever neglect your brain!
Your look is so different from everyone elses and you are not cocky which goes along way with viewers and judges. I great attitude will take you far. I am rooting for you to take it all.

Colin, I totally understand what you are going through. I remember when I first auditioned for a show, I stuttered and was shaking. But the director saw something in me and I made it in, not a big role but a "role." Tyson saw something in you never take that for granted. peace.
