It’s double elimination time. A scary concept.
I’m a fan of the theme for this week’s shoot. The sixties were visually neato. I think I can be mod-ed out pretty successfully. Working with a partner is always nerve-wracking. Kerryn was my first pick for the shoot from the moment Nicole and Tyson told us what was going on. Fun? Kerryn and I can do that.
Our shoot started a little slowly … which worried us. It was tricky getting to a place with high energy while we sit still in a dark corner. After a lot of tweaking (and terrible dancing on my part), Roxanne, the photographer, was finally happy with something we were doing. I must have leapt 200 times in order to get the right height, angle, body position, and faces while Kerryn danced her butt off. Roxanne said we got a great shot and Tyson gave us a 9 out of 10 for our performance. Alright. That’s an A-.
When Nicole showed us our photos I was pretty happy. Kerryn and I look like we’re having fun. I’m worried about Laury. The judges gave her an ultimatum last week. I don’t think her photo is over-the-top-blow-everyone-away exceptional that the judges demanded. Because of that, I feel like one of the two people going home is practically decided. I’ve just got to make sure that I’m not the other one.
The catwalk this week seems quite interesting. OMG Style Wars. I haven’t heard of it but it looks fun. While Kerryn and I were getting styled though I kind of got caught up in the moment and energy. During the actual walk I totally forgot to … walk. Or at least walk well. Kerryn and I planned on looking at each other halfway down the runway but when I turned, I saw her facing forward. This shook me up a little bit. At the end of the runway, I did a playful knuckle crack and head roll. This is a battle, right? The video we saw demonstrating style wars had some pretty ridiculous stuff going on so I thought I was being pretty conservative.
I’m in the bottom four.
Tyson and Nicole watched Kerryn and I during the shoot and didn’t once tell us to interact more, but the judges railed our photo for lack of chemistry. It would have been nice to know on set that there was something fundamentally wrong with what Kerryn and I were doing, but all we got for our shot was praise. Frustrating. I feel blindsided by the criticism we’re getting over something that was correctable during the shoot if someone had just said something.
Oh, and my walk was as bad as I thought.
I feel bad about having my partner sent home. I can’t help but feel partially responsible Kerryn will be missed, but I’m happy to still be here. I made it to the top eight! If Make Me A Supermodel were a MySpace page, I’d be on the front. Huzzah!
Well, I think you know this by now... you are super cute and I know as a fellow nerdy, studious person that it is a hard balance. I hope that all is well. And I wish the best for you.
Colin, I feel like I connect to you so much! Aside from me being a gay male and a few years older than you. I've always wanted to audition for the show but have NO modeling experience at all. I'm also very shy like you if I don't know you. I hide away my AMAZING personality because sometimes I feel like I can be too much! I was a major geek in high school but have very much grown into myself. I can't wait for my reunion! It seems to me like you are hiding away a lot of your AWESOMENESS. Let yourself shine! Take the risks! You've made it to so far! If you can start letting loose you have the potential to go all the way. What do you have to loose from taking the risk aside from this journey ending shortly. But you've made it to the top 8 and are almost gauranteed work from that when you leave! I think your incredible and an awesome inspiration to a lot of people. The Clark Kent look totally works for you ;) Best of wishes. And save yourself for the one you love babe. It is infinitely more special that way!
Colin, you're visually stunning and the fact that you may or may not have passed your V-card to a lucky person or persons makes you even more desirable. Everybody wants to taint you and/or procreate with you in some way or fashion. Unfortunately, I understand that. And you're smart, too. Well, you seem smart...Moving on. Here's what I think. Under the assumption that the final decision has been made, I believe that you won't win the competetion. However, I see you in film. Perhaps, a random vampire in the next Twilight movie. You have a dark look you. You would shine in those roles.
First off, I'd like to say that I think you have an extremely gorgeous face and angles. I like your innocence, and you seem like an intelligent, thoughtful guy. However, why didn't you stand up for Kerryn during the judging?? You were very insensitive towards what she was going through, and didn't stand up for her when you had the opportunity. To admit there was no "chemistry" between you too, was uncalled for. I never expected you to behave that way, and when she was eliminated, why weren't you?? the first to hug and console her... If she wasn't angry at you for that... then she's a walking door-mat... If any guy treated me like that -- he's history!
Wow I wish I could find a guy like you. You're pretty much my vision of the perfect guy. The Clark Kent thing is a complete plus so his the virgin thing. I think it just makes you a better guy. Well good luck!! I'd vote for you but I'm too young. Hang in there!!
Colin! Me and my friend only watch the show because of you! We're both...well...geeks, and we think you're super hot!!!
Seriously Colin! Way to through a friend under a bus by saying that you didn't have any chemistry. You knew she liked you and you turned her down in front of everyone. I am sorry Colin I don't see it. You don't need to be a supermodel to get girls.
don't give your virginity away, please!!!!! You're a hotty and you'll need a bat to get all the girls off, so listen to your mama. Stay sweet. Don't let your looks go to your head.
sorry this is so random. It's just what I think everytime i see you.
Colin, I was so happy when I saw you wern't going home! It was scary though because you almost did! I don't care what the judges say, you look awesome every week! You should win! Your num. 1 fan!!!
Colin, you have all the right "stuff" to be a successful supermodel, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND BRING IT. Oh, I always thought you look a bit (just a tiny bit)like the famous soccer player Kaka. Have you heard of him? Brazilian who currently plays in Italy's team AC Milan. He is super hot and what a coincidence, he waited until marriage to lose his virginity. His wife is adorable. Take a look at his modeling pics if you have a chance: www.ricardo-kaka.com/gallery.php
I feel like you really pushed Kerryn under the bus. She deserved to stay. And you do not even have the decency to be really sad that she left. SHAME on you!
Ok so, i'm TOTALLY in love with colin!! no shame about it! lolol ure doing well so far, staying afloat, but its time to start surfing and kick some model ass.....i know u got it in u babe. *kisses*
Hey Colin, glad to see you made the top 8. Congrats! You are by far my favorite and I am really looking forward to seeing you in the finals. There is no bigger turn on than a sexy "geek" for a lot of us women out here. Best of luck!
I agree; it must be frustrating getting ripped at judging without having been given much direction during the shoot...with every week I hope your confidence is building; walk down that cat-walk like you own it! Hang in there!
Colin, You've come such a long way - you're definitely a high point in the show. Oh, and btw - the virginity thing?? That's awesome!!! It's such a special gift - I hope that you won't let anyone convince you that it's less important than it really is. So keep on waiting, dude - it'll be worth it - 80% more, actually. Statistically speaking, partners who wait on intimacy til marriage have sex 80% more often. ;-D
Personally, you're the only reason I watch the show. It's about time geeks & nerds like myself had somebody on these modeling shows to look up to.
i think you definitely have the potential to be in the final round- i think if you were to consider yourself as an actor as well as a model- you have to portray a character generated by the clothes and/or setting and that character has to have an attitude or visible emotion. use your ability to pretend you are someone else entirely to help you project an appropriate attitude. and don't trip on the runway.
you have come very far from the first show and i look forward to you being head to head with jonathan and sandhurst.
What about a theme song for the catwalk? You know, like how "Staying Alive" is supposed to be the perfect rhythm to use for CPR? But.... don't pick that exact song. ;-)
Congratulations on making it to the top 8!! I was glad when you chose to jump in the photo shoot. Seems like it's always better to take a risk than to hold back, right?
Also, in case you didn't know this, just wanted to point out that in her blog this week, Nicole calls you "spunky" and "a frontrunner".
Glad to see you made it through, you are a cutie pie. BTW, love you in the glasses, gotta say I prefer Clark Kent to Superman ;)
don't sweat it, you're not supposed to feel bad for someone going home, it is a competition afterall. And tyson is saving you for a reason, you're improving week to week even if you stumble a little here and there. we all make mistakes. the lack of improvement is what will get you sent home. the best of luck to you. i think you're great!
You're so amazing, Colin!! I hope you win. You're too cute, really. Your smile makes me melt :) No worries, I'm not a 16 year old, lol.
When I first read Style Wars I thought it said Star Wars smooth yup. The outfit you had to wear reminded me of a bright orange ninja costume lol whether that's a bad or good thing I'm not quite sure. I agree that the at the shoot more direction or advice would have been helpful. Oh well I'm sure you'll do good next week with those animals, good luck~
