A Slap in the Face

Jordan describes her first week getting negative criticism.

May 5, 2009

After the last elimination, I am so mentally and physically exhausted. For some reason, I just feel like I’m in space. I can’t get my thoughts together, and everything seems to annoy me more than usual. Getting up for this next shoot was very tough. So we get to the studio for our shoot and the first thing we do is pick my accessory from a table. The first thing I wanted was a big white bag. I was thinking of so many cool things that I could do with a bag. I wanted something that I could move around with. Plus, I’ve always wanted to do a purse ad. After we all picked our items, we found out this was a nude shoot. I was pretty excited because I had this giant bag to work with, but then I realized half my ideas went out the window because now I had to keep the bag close to my body. When I finally went in to do the shoot, being naked was the least of my worries — it was figuring out what to do with this bag that worried me.  Lucky for me, the first picture that the photographer took was the shot. Although we started out on the right foot, this shoot was pretty difficult. It was surprisingly hard to pose with this bag.  Plus, the bag looked ugly half the time, and wouldn’t sit right. There were a lot of issues with this shoot, but I still left feeling good about it. When Nicole brought our books the next day, I opened mine and saw the first shot. I was really excited to see that picture there. Unfortunately, I didn’t win the shoot, but I did get to go on the go-see with Salome. It was a nice change, getting out of the house and away from everyone.

Come elimination day, there is a twist to the catwalk again. We got to walk the catwalk with a giant bowl of butterflies on our heads. This was such a hard catwalk because I was in pain everywhere. My shoes were two sizes too small, and the bowl on my head was cutting into my shoulders and collar bone. I was just hoping the judges didn’t see the pain in my face. Unfortunately, they noticed … kind of. This week was the first time I really got bad criticism. It was terrible! The judges really hated my picture, but luckily my walk wasn’t terrible. So this week was a slap in the face, but I narrowly escaped being in the bottom. Whew!

You should have won! Your elimination came out of no where. The judges constantly contradict themselves and clearly have no clue what they're saying. Sorry you had to be subjected to the criticism of fools. Personally, I'm not going to watch the show anymore -- why pay attention when the decision comes down to someone as daft as Perou?

so you made many frames(out of only 6) but you got eliminated? weird.

for this time only we didn't have to see Salome and Branden walking down the runway, and of course instead praising you for trying something new in a short period of time they eliminate you. Doesn't seem fair to me. I think they were looking to eliminate you anyways, even if you had chosen to walk without the heelys.

Maybe you should have made a compliment (aka kiss ass)to Nicole on how "hot she is" *rolling eyes* like Branden did, maybe that would have kept around for another week.

Jordan,

You're constant comments regarding Amanda week after week is boring. Who cares if Amanda is around and irritates you? Get over it! For somemone who has experience, you certainly aren't acting like it. Amanda shouldn't bother you if you're the professional you keep saying you are. Your negative attitude is beginning to show through in your photo shoots and in your catwalk and you're the last one I'd hire for a photoshoot.

Hello Jordan,
My teens and I have watched the show and love it. You made a comment that I found interesting about the high school drama. My 16 year old has thought you were petty, catty and immature for a while now. She has made commenst about how none of the girls shoud trust you and how terrible it must be to know that American has now seen you at your worst behavior. She was asking about how embarsing it must be to have everyone see you talk about everyone else and be so harsh and negative about everyone and how hard it will be for anyone to ever trust you because you came off so shallow. It was a great learning lesson for them n how not to behave and how your mouth and over confidence can come back to bite you in the butt! Im sorry you dug yourself into that hole but it is a wonderful example of how to conduct yourslef for my kids.

Hey Jordan:

I think you did great on the photo and you tried your best on the runway. Please don't give up.

I also think one of the judge( designer one) did not like you much. Keep trying and will see you in Vogue one day.

Jordan,
Unreal! Too bad you didn't get to enjoy Amanda's absence for longer. I was shocked at the judges. Salome should have gone!

I agree that you have amazing potential, but your negativity, and pettiness really bring down your charisma and your natural beauty.

Sad to see you go, but at the same time relieved that we don't have to hear you rant and rave about how horrible everyone else is doing on the show.

I am sure there is a large amount of editing done to your clips. Hopefully, you aren't as catty in real life.

Hey Jordan, I just want you to know you're amazing in every way possible. Normally, I think T.V. shows are stupid and the people in it are fake, but you have truly proved me wrong. Every time I see you on the show you draw me in and it inspires me to be more confident and ambitious. Marry me? jk, but you are truly astounding. I know you'll win this competition. :) Good luck!

hey jordan..thank god amanda is gone..don't listen to these other bloggers...they're not there and don't realize just how annoying amanda can be..of course i don't either...but i am in high school and deal with those kinds of people all the time...two faced beotches..love ya...sweet 16

You & Johnathan are the real super models, yet all on the show are good. I was soooo confused when they dissed your photo after the photographer said (with the handbag) that he GOT the picture, first take, great job. Then the judges started berating you for it. I don't understand - if the photographer said it was perfect, what did the judges expect you to do??? DO NOT let it rattle you.

Hi Jordan. Me and my family LOVE you. You are doing a fantastic job and representing Tucson well. Keep up the great work. You are beautiful, professional, and very entertaining. You make us laugh outloud and hit the rewind button many times. It is a show afterall. And then you turn around and WOW us with your beauty and ability to adapt. We love you and support you all the way. Even if you don't win, you will go very far in this business. Thank you for entertaining us week after week.

Jordan,

It is so hard to see the beauty in you when you are so negative all of the time. It appears that I am not the only one seeing it either. Perhaps Amanda was due to go home but that wasn't up to you. I wish you were more beautiful inside. Your ugliness will cost you your dream.

Part of being sucessful is learning how to get along with other people and to repect them. Your comments and facial expression come off as mean and childish.

Until you grow up, and stop being so mean and petty, you will never be a supermodel.

You are beautiful!

You should definitely be on that show Pretty Wicked! I nominate you!

Jordan,
You are a beautiful girl; but, your constant criticism of Amanda makes you not so beautiful - inside or out. You need to just focus on yourself, but at the same time, be encouragaing to your fellow contestants. You obviously don't have enough confidence so to make yourself look better, you criticize everyone else. Try to remember that beauty is NOT only skin deep. It takes way too much energy to be mean and spiteful.

OMG Jordan ever since the beginning of the show, you were my favorite. You won immunity in the beginning, and I think that Amanda whines soooo much! If I were you, I would do the same exact thing! Gabriel and Amanda were acting so childish. I think you should definitely win the season, because you always give such great pictures. I loved your pocket book picture! It was so pretty and I really thought you were going to get good feedback from it! Have fun!
- your biggest fan -

Jordan,

I want to like you. I want to root for you, but you are portraying yourself as being a petty, hateful gossip. You should spend more time working on your modeling, instead of criticizing others, and making statements a la "I'll show them drama!" Negativity is a huge turn off.

Jordan, you've criticized Amanda so much for giving excuses, but, who's giving excuses now?

You could be such a talented model, but your haughtiness overwhelms your potential. You could be a supermodel, but you're not at the top yet. So, getting ahold of a little humility and focus on your own job should get you back on track. But, if now that Amanda went away you're gonna, for example, focus on criticize Salome's wobbling butt... then you're doomed.
