Season 2
Season 1
It has come to this. Thirteen weeks of walking, posing, laughing, fighting, and more laughing has come to an end. It’s hard to look at the apartment the same way without the 13 other models in the house. Say what you want about anyone of them but they sure made the experience a lot of fun. Mountaha went home last night and I can’t help but feel as though she was robbed of an experience. Is Branden the more deserving of the two? That will be up for debate but definitely when you look at the competition I have to say I would have given the edge to Mountaha.
For our final photo shoot we were given the challenge of taking a great Polaroid shot by famed photographer Timothy Greensfield-Sanders. We were to pose for three images — a head shot, a full body, and a group shot. Working with Timothy was by far one of the coolest interactions that I had throughout this competition. He knows how to get what he wants out of his models and I really enjoyed working with him. After taking the head shot and waiting for it to develop, seeing the image just revealed to me how much I look like both of my parents. To me I took the entire experience more as a graduation or culmination of some sort and did not consider it to be a competitive challenge. To me, whoever was going to win the contract had already done so in the thirteen weeks that we had been here.
After the great day that was our final photo shoot we were sent off to a cover try with Cosmo magazine. This was incredible seeing that Cosmo’s circulation reaches more readers than most fashion and entertainment magazines in the world. Again we were placed in front of the lens of another famed fashion photographer. This time it was Marc Baptiste. I loved it. He is such an animated character which is great energy to thrive off of during a shoot.
Our final runway has come and though I am excited to finally hear the verdict I must admit it was extremely bittersweet for me. I had a blast throughout this entire experience. I met 15 incredible individuals and now it was about to be over. I basically did my usual walk on the runway and left it at that. Now was not the time to play with my walk. If the judges liked it then they did and if the judges hated it then oh well. At this point in the game it didn’t matter anymore. Of the 13 weeks we were in this competition I tied with Jonathan for the most weekly wins of three. I was in the top three 11 of 13 weeks and I was hailed as the king of the catwalk. I would say that was a victory in itself.
As we neared closer to the decision and each judge stated what they had to say and each mentor threw in their two cents, it was still unclear who was going to get the win. Was it going to be Jonathan the epitome of the male model, right height, right measurements or was it going to be Branden who certainly had youth on his side or was it going to be me “Mister Consistent.” Well apparently in a competition that seemed to be a two man race from the start between Jonathan and me, it is possible for a dark horse to snatch it at the end. Branden was the model that the judges felt they could make into a supermodel. I will be honest — I was confused by the decision. I was the only model to hear every critique firsthand, since I stood on stage for every panel except the second week, so from hearing what the judges said in the past it was hard to accept that they all of a sudden believed that Branden did the best in the entire competition.
However, as much as I question the decision I understand it. I had competed well in this competition and achieved a lot more during my time on the show and that sends a stronger message in my opinion to the industry. So as much as I want to be a sore loser I cannot help but say that I am proud of Branden and I really do wish him all the success in the world. I hope that with the doors that are going to be opened up to him that he also opens up his eyes and his mind even further and know that I will be there for him. To Jonathan, I know that only great things are on the horizon. I really am not afraid for him. He’s my boy and was my best friend throughout this entire experience and he will continue to be so after it. Finally, for me I would do this again in a heartbeat. I had the most amazing experience of my life competing against these 15 remarkable models and have learned a lesson from every one of them and as I said before, I am so grateful to have been given this gift. I refuse to say the cliché line that “This is not the last you will see of me” so I will say this: I see big things for myself in the future and I am confident in my ability to go after and achieve them.
All I have to say, is that Sandhurst is truly a man. Not only does he step up he also does not begrudge Branden's win.
Cory made a bold statement on the last episode when he said he would proudly represent all finalists.
We will see more of Sandhurst as well as Jonathan (I hope)
I cannot believe that you did not win this thing...the way they pick winners in every competition show on Bravo TV I guess I should believe it. Do not worry, like you said Jennifer did not win american idol but she turned right around and won a grammy. You are still the winner in my book.
Sandhurst, you are not only Mr. Consistent, you are Mr. Classy. Your personalty, heart and over all appeal will make you a super model. I am surprised by the decision but do believe that success will be yours.
Great competition, you were awesomely funny and smart and I can't wait to see your future work. Well done, you are most certainly the Jennifer Hudson of this competition.
I have never ever voted by text message in my life for someone to win until tonight. And I voted for you! I am astounded that Branden won. I think he is great and all, but both you and Jonathan were able to bring something to the table each week Branden could not and that is called life experiences. While I wish him success, I am SO disappointed you did not win. Dang, hope I didn't jinx things but texting my vote for you to win?! Great career ahead Sandhurst and keep that wonderful smile and laugh going! You are just the best. God bless.
Sanhurst...Winner!! Sanhurst...Winner!! Winner!! Winner!!
You or Jonathan should have won!!!
Sadly, Brandon got the sympathy vote.
I thought you were the best out of the whole competition! I can't believe you didn't win though (although Branden was my second fave)! I think any high-fashion magazine or anything else like that would be STUPID to not have you model for them. YOU ROCK!
Sandherst, you are fantastic. I've loved watching your work all season, and I look forward to seeing your future success. You are one talented guy!!!
Sandhurst, I am disappointed that you did not win this competition. In addition to having a handsome face and perfect body, you are a nice person, elegant and classy. I am sure that you will be successful in whatever you decide to do in your life.
Sandhurst! You were great throughout this entire competition. I know the only reason you didn't win is because you came out of the gates strong...It was clear that each week the judges were trying to find something to critique.
I thought for sure, early on, that it would be you and Jonathan...but Branden also held a special place for me..I can not be mad that he won - he came a long way..and I believe this is what he was judged on. Not his consistancy, but his improvement
Congratulations Sandhurst!!! I have no doubt that you will have all the success you have dreamed of....You are beautiful inside and out and that comes thru in your pictures.....You got exposure and that is all you needed....you will go far. You and Jonathan were the best!
Man, you were robbed...no other way to put it... Even if they had chosen Jonathan, the $$$ man... Branden is the flash in the minute, the male judges were "hot" for him.... Peru was the only one who knew he wont make it as a "Supermodel"... Well let me see you in magazines and on tv ...challenge Tyson for his crown ! ...and like you said Jennifer got the Oscar and the limelight so TALENT WILL PREVAIL .....
SHOCKED... it was like watching someone being robbed in broad daylight ... I watched, speechless. If it were Jonathan, this will be an easier pill to swallow, I guess youth does have its advantages ... to each his own. They couldn't make you a supermodel because you are already a supermodel. The benefits from this experience far outweighs the temporary loss ... you have build an amazing portfolio, made important contacts/ friendships and showcased yourself to the world. I expect to see you on runways, magazines and who knows, special appearances ... seize the moment and stay true to yourself.
All God's Blessings, Nan
Sandhurst, as a fellow Caribbean woman, I was so proud of the class that you demonstrated throughout this whole competition. You may not have won the finale, but you have won the respect of so many people, and hopefully equally as promising of a career as Brandon. Congratulations on a truly great journey!
Sandhurst, You definitely should have won--I think time will show what a mistake was made. Best of luck to you in all you do. You'll be spectacular!!!
Even though you did not win, I believe that you will do very well. As a fellow Trini who lives in the US, I liked how you protrayed yourself with class, dignity and humility. You showed that even though there are not much of us in the modeling world, or an industry demand for ethnic models, you were a good role model in the show as well as a beautiful, handsome man. I wish you all the best. PS, I thought you should have won because you would not have been forgettable
I was confused by the judges decision too! If you are reading this, Sandhurst, I just want to say that I think you are truly a beautiful person with an even more beautiful spirit--the way you chose to buy gifts for your family instead of thinking of yourself first on your shopping spree was really lovely. Don't ever apologize for your body, you are incredibly strong and sexy as well charming and sweet. Good luck on all future endeavors, I know we'll be seeing you soon!
Sandhurst, I can't believe this injustice but you're going somewhere and stay positive and keep your handsome smile because you're going to be walking the catwalk with that smile while designers and agencies knocking at your door.Keep the FAITH.........
Sandhurst, I happened upon the first episode of this show, saw you, recognized you from an acting class that I taught in 2005, and was hooked on the show from that moment onward. Not only are you a sensational model, but you are a role-model too because of your character. You are a beautiful person, and you are already a success.
I have a feeling that although you and Jonathan were not made "supermodels", New York Modeling Agency will be representing you for future work. They are in the business to make money, and they are going to represent people who have the potential to make money for them.
You are a class act. Continue to be blessed!
Dear Sandhurst,
This is the first of your blogs that I have read. I'm impressed with your eloquence. I agree with your assessment of the overall competition. Unfortunately, the judges didn't weigh the entire season when making their choice. They went with the final pix. That's it. (BTW: Your final portrait was absolutely gorgeous. Your face was perfect.) For my mind, you and Jonathan were the only two models who had earned the title. Either one of you (based on total performance) should have won. It's disappointing that the twerpy, immature teenager got the brass ring. The decision was just plain WRONG!
For what it's worth, I enjoyed both you and Jonathan each week. You were a joy to watch and to hear. I just loved your voice!
I'm going to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! because the competition was really all about your inner self... this only prepared YOU for bigger things... MAN can say one thing while GOD say something totally different! TRULY though you bust you butt all season and someone can come in at the end have about 2 good weeks and he WINS!! Are we still living in the early 60's???
Congratulations on doing so well in this competition. You have so much talent and it's great to hear you say good things about the other competitors and no whining!
This season was a vast improvement over last, mainly because of the charismatic personalities of the men in the top 3. You all proved that a competitive reality show doesn't have to be about back-biting and bitchiness to draw viewers.
Bravo Sandhurst, you were the reason I tuned in each week, best of luck to you...even without the win I see you going far! (and not just in modeling!)
RT
Sandhurst,
There are wonderful opportunities on the horizon for you. Aside the great pictures (the fire shoot was brilliant), you are funny, classy and a true gentleman. When Brandon broke down on stage, it was you who took the lead and left your spot to help him with Jonathan right behind you. That's a real man.
Yes, you were robbed but I also think that the judges made a political calculation. They figured that neither Jonathan nor you need their help to make it. You've got it already. So, take everything you've learned and set this world on fire!
Sandurst,
You walk away fron this competition with great class and substance. You have shown the world what a true friend really is. We never heard you badmouth any of your competitors and always reached out when someone needed a few words of kindness or encouragement. I enjoyed your sense of humor as well.
I expect to see great accomplishments from you in the future and wish you the best in life.
i can`t believe they picked branden he know`s nothing about modeling. you were robbed i thought a least tyson would stick up for the only brother on the show.
Great job Sandhurst. You were definitely the best of the final 3. However, I beg to differ in your statement that it was a competition between you and Jonathan from the beginning. The only competition in that house for any of you was Jordan. You 2 should have been the final 2 standing. The show lost its credibility with me and it was a terrible ending. Best to you in the future.
Sandhurst! I loved you throughout the competition. I not only thought that you are handsome, but, you displayed a great personality as well. You not have won this competition, but, I believe you will do well in the modeling industry. Look forward to seeing you in magazines and on the runway.
Sandhurst - you're remarkable and actually don't even need a show like this to guarantee your success. The exposure was lovely, but you'll succeed even without the top prize. Loved seeing your spark and your good attitude and I know you're going to be a star! Congratulations on a fine job and keep in touch with Jonathan...he seems like a great guy and I liked seeing the friendship that was growing with you two. Best of luck!
" so from hearing what the judges said in the past it was hard to accept that they all of a sudden believed that Branden did the best in the entire competition." Sandhurst, I love you, I love your attitude, it will carry you very far. But this quote is in essence why you lost. Branden did not do the best in the entire competition, he is the one with the best learning curve, he was most improved. He was able to take very harsh criticism and turn it around. Both you and Jonathan (love him too) either had trouble with your eyes or trouble with variety. Branden has more potential to improve. That said, love & best of luck to all three, great job!
IMHO, both you and Jonathan will do fine. You both have the skills to take this to the next level. I'd be shocked if your phone wasn't blowing up this week with job offers. I love your parting statement comparing yourself to Miss Hudson. Your so positive ! THAT'S how you rise to the top ! Never give up Sandhurst ! I look forward to seeing more of both you and Jonathan in the future !
Many warm regards to you and yours !
Sand- I do believe you deserve to win, but I really do think that anyone of the three of you were deserving. I just thought it was fortunate that the three finalists were all (seemingly) wonderful human beings. All of you have such grace and class (yes, including Brandon) all of you are true to who you are so you will all be super models but as of now you are all super humans.
Onward and upward- from one dancer to another, L.B.
You were great throughout the whole show. I enjoyed your sense of humor and you are a supermodel. I do believe you will become a supermodel as well. Best of luck!
You were great!!! I was beyond shocked at the outcome of this competition to the point that this will be my last season as viewer. I understand what may have led to the decision the judges made, but I thought the outcome was unacceptable. I also did not agree with last season's decision.
You and Johnathan were both very strong. But what I like about you, Sandhurst, is you make a decision about what you are going to do, you do it and it really pays off in your modeling. I am so glad I was able to "meet" you through this show.
By the way, I agree with RC. You were robbed.
Sandhurst: I thought you were such a wonderful role model during the show. Your ability to bring out others' strengths and remain strong yourself impressed me greatly. The episode where you helped Salome in the pool is the episode where you became my favorite contestant. You exemplify the idea that to be the best you have to compete against others at their best. Thank you for showing TV viewers what honest competition looks like. Best of luck to you in your future :)
OMG! Sandhurst you were my favorite model this season. I can not believe you didn't win. I loved your positive attitude and your sexy good looks! I wish you and Jonothan much success in the future!
Sandhurst - I was rooting for you; but I knew you would not have been chosen. You are classy, intelligent young black man and a non American. It had nothing to do with your height/cat walk/ or performance. Same for Jonathan...his fate was he had a wife and a baby, and was non American. So who got the money, the same who also does in every competition.
Sandhurst, you were by far, the best of the final 3. The only reason Branden made it to the final 6 is because one of the female judges thought he was hot. Plus, he was totally sucking up to Nicole! You never said anything bad about anyone. I know you'll be even more famous than Branden, so have fun!
The outcome was shocking, always think that you and Jonathan will come to the last championship, the two of you is the most powerful models. And you have a beautiful soul, and humor, will encourage others to help, I love you . This is not the end, your future is bright, refuels!
Sandhurst--you are the man! There is no doubt that you are the supermodel. You have the look, the walk and are able to push yourself. You have grown up so much in the competition! But what I respect most about you is that even though the judges totally bombed on their decision, you handled everything with class and grace. You are a class act dude. There is NO doubt that what is yours will be yours. Great things are on the horizon for you. No doubt. Keep rockin!
Hello, Sandhurst! Congratulations on being truly a wonderful role model. Your attitude, grace and sense of humor was brilliant. You don't need a contract stating you are a supermodel, because you are already a supermodel. Throughout this competiton, you stayed real and genuine to the other competitors. You were my favorite person on the show. Stay confident and keep your head up because there is something in store for you more greater than you can ever imagine. By the way, the head shot was Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sandhurst,
You are fantastic! You are beautiful inside and out. I know that I will see you everywhere from campaign ads, magazine covers, and catwalks around the world! Congratualtions Mr Consistent Supermodel.
Oh my gosh. I didn't see the finale when it aired but I DVRed it. I wasn't worried though because I definitely knew you would win. I was shocked. I thought that Branden should have been out weeks ago. The only real competition was between you and Jonathan. It's not your fault though, you just came into the competition better than everyone else. I was cheering you on since episode one and still will in whatever you do next. The judges were wrong. What can you do? It happens.
Sandhurt....As I all ways knew you would be in the finale. I am still trying to hinge my jaw back in place in the decision they made but hey that's how it goes. Your future should be immensely successful, solid and an adventure. You should be so proud of your accomplishment and I know T and T is partying for you man. I hope you put up a website so we can follow your future.
All the best to you and your family.
Sandhurst, what a class act you are! Gracious, humble, such a generous spirit. You did your country of Trinidad proud. Keep that beautiful laugh of yours and you'll go far my friend.
Sandhurst, you will always be my winner. I was SOOOOOOO disappointed. Best of luck in a future where you have earned not only a spot in modeling, but the admiration of many many people.

Hey Sandhurst! You have always been my favorite during the whole competition. You are amazing at modeling!!
