What about CJ? We saw a different side of her this week.
She had fun. I saw that side of her though, she's into motorcycles and she knows people I know in LA. I wanted her to show the world that side of her. Once people really see who she is they'll look at her and see that this girl is really beautiful and see that she really has something. Some of the cast didn't like her and I know what that's like. I've been on jobs where other guys didn't like me because I was a client's favorite. I feel for her.
She got along with Jonathan and Branden though.
Jonathan is older and he's a little more mature. He can relate. With Branden, you watch him grow every week. The kid will grow on you. The first week when he said something about homosexuals and Latinos, I was ready to send him home after that. I thought he was in the wrong business. The business of fashion is all about getting along. One thing about about people in fashion is we get along. Then I thought, let's keep him and let's educate him and turn him into someone who is respectful of everyone. You'll see him mature.
Amanda won the photo assigment and went to the go see.
Going into that casting I think she should have been able to talk with Nicole. They need to stay focused on what they're getting ready to do. They're so excited about their win and talking about how great they are and then the client brings them back to reality.
Karen was eliminated. What did you think of her?
I didn't know what she was doing. When I saw her eyes I knew she was going home. She was not made to be modeling, I'm so sorry to say.. There are tons of beautiful African American women out there with eyes that don't do that. She turned on that x-ray vision.
I have seriously tried to watch this, but it is infuriating to say the least. I have no problem with not so attractive people photographing beautifully, but the vast majority of these people were not the photographic "cream of the crop" to begin with. Next, what is up with these comments about "all American" looks? Insensitive to say the least, coming from a blond country girl. On that subject, Karen and Laury were the best you could offer of women of color in this competition. Fine young ladies in their own right, but such an obvious and superficial move on the part of the show. I won't even get into how Tabitha and crew attempted to ghetto-ize both of them. You should all be ashamed. Of course you are not!
Tyson, I beg to differ with your critique of Laury. Based on the pictures that the show displayed, Laury and Amanda had similar grimaces on their faces. Further, I was offended that the show, Bloomingdale's, and N Y Model Management would suggest that Amanda embodies an "all American" look. I was born in Connecticut to American parents. My grandparents and great grandparents were born in this country. Although I don't look like Amanda, there is nothing in my background to suggest that I am less American than her or Kerryn. Additionally, Amanda's observation that she and Kerryn look more American than the other models was just plain dumb. I have written Amanda, Bloomingdale's, BravoTV executive, and you to express my displeasure with this episode. You lost me as a fan of the show.
Hey..um..I'm an aspiring model myself and i would just like to know where do i go to submit photos or whatever is required to be on the next season of make me a supermodel.
I just have to say it...Gabe is horrible. He's as narcissistic as they come. Walk: awful. Pout: boring. And put some clothes on, attention monger.
I agree with Frances and Marie. The reference to "American" good looks was disgraceful. Perhaps they should have referred to Anglo-Germanic looks. Or just resurrected the old Nazi standby, "Aryan"?
Blacks are not Americans?? I'm sure Laury's and Karen's ancestors have been in America longer than Amanada's. I am also appalled that Bloomingdales -- which at least started out as a Jewish company -- would buy into this Aryan crap. If I had not already long ago stopped shopping at Bloomingdales, I would immediately boycott them.
And what were you thinking, Tyson, while this racist nonsense was going down? You wouldn't have been picked as having "American" good looks either....
Frances, On the all American look, you are taking it out of context. Model Management was telling Amanda what Bloomingdales was looking for. I beleive he would have said the same thing is Laury had won instead of Amanda. What Amanda thinks is All American look is different then what either you or I would think, that is part of being an American.
Tyson et al, Just a couple things: While watching your show I hear alot of "make me a supermodel." I see that this season you and another model have taken on the role of mentor. The thing is, I don't see very much mentoring. I don't know if this is due to editting or if it's just that you two mentors are not doing what you're supposed to do. The models on your show have varying degrees of talent/experience, including Colin who is a self-proclaimed blank slate. Would you two coaches please step up and show us viewers how you're making the models into supermodels? The blonde, short-haired female judge on your show: she's a hair stylist. Besides that what are her qualifications for being a judge on a modeling show? I think her and Perou's attitudes should disqualify the both of them for interacting with people, much less judging a competition.
Tyson, I am quite concerned for the well being of some of these models – specifically Jordan. She is very, very SCARY THIN. I realize that modeling requires a certain body image, but it is obvious the poor girl is starving herself, and perhaps others in the show. Anorexia, Bulimia and Other Eating Disorders are a very serious disease and life threatening. If anorexia goes untreated the health problems only get worse. Over time, anorexia causes hair loss, infertility, stunted growth, osteoporosis, heart problems, kidney failure, and death. In addition to muscle loss, men with anorexia may experience low blood pressure, which in turn can cause heart failure. Male anorexia also causes loss of bone density (making brittle bones), weakness, dehydration (which can potentially lead to kidney failure) and hair loss. Up to 20% of the people who develop anorexia nervosa will die from the on-going overall decline in bodily health. Bulimia can cause irregular heartbeats, heart failure, and death can occur from chemical imbalances and the loss of important minerals such as potassium. Peptic ulcers, pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas, which is a large gland that aids digestion), and long-term constipation are also consequences of bulimia. There are too many models that meet the criteria for anorexia and bulimia to count. To name a few that have died from it:
Luisel Ramos - August 2, 2006, model (22) Eliana Ramos - February 13, 2007, model (18) Ana Carolina Reston - November 14, 2006, model (21)
I hope that these contestants are aware of the harm they may be doing to their body.
Hi-my name is Cayce Gilhousen (formerly Cayce Crumpecker) from kansas city, Missouri. I recently caught the show for the first time and was amazed to see my old friend Marlon (judging) for the first time in 10 yrs. I have been trying to track him down with much difficulty. I would love to hear from him-we were close during my modeling days in NYC in the mid-90s but have since lost contact. Can anyone help me contact him? Cayce
I really love this show and Tyson you are the sweetest person ever. I was at the Bonnie Hunt Show and you were amazing. Also, my friend and I saw you in your car after the taping and you pulled down your window and talked to us. Which goes to show that you are a perfect mentor on Make me a Supermodel because you are not only talented but you are also teaching these new models how be beautiful on the inside just like you.
hey Tyson! hope all is well, i talked to you today at a red light after the Bonnie Hunt show! you were soooo sweet! thanks for being kind. u still rock! haha
I just want to say that I believe Colin, with more training and experience, will make an incredible model...he is striking! My younger brothers were good friends with Ian Somerhalder and he was at our house quite a bit. I can remember his mom would sometimes pick him up for modeling classes and the boys would tease him. However, I always knew he would end up making it big in modeling with his naturally jaw-dropping looks. If Colin doesn't get discouraged, he too can go far with that face of his.
Tyson, the thing that I liked about the past season was the theme music, when the models walked the runway. I really thought it was the signature music. It appeared to make the models walk with more confidence. Everytime I heard it, no matter where I was, I always thought of Make Me a Super Model." Could you please start using it again!!
Maybe I've been looking in all the wrong places for the answer to this question. Why don't the viewers get to vote for the models like they did on Season 1?
Why I couldn't see your program troughout Direct TV here on Puerto Rico....I'm a fan of Make me a Supermodel from NYC and MIA...Housewifes...Chef!...etc Why not in PR???...I'm moving recently and BEFORE I choose a cable company I asked about Bravo TV Channel...it's my favorite one...and they lie to me...and now I sign the contract for 2 years....Could someone tell me WHY...Direct TV doesn't have BRAVO TV...? For me it's like a nightmare...I'm a truly fan for all your programs. I need an answer please! ASAP Thanks and God Bless You Always
Mr. Beckford, I've got a 27yr old that looks like a 21 yr old -any think 18. 5'7 110-115 lbs, loads of energy & personality. Where can they submit information to be considered for the program? Thanks
Do not ever leave your side kick in charge of the show again! Lovely girl but has the personality of a stump! Her voice is terrible, she sounds like its a chore to talk and has very little to impart to the models. This last show the judges were horrible! Yes, its a tuff world and I understand that but the judges this week were like a pack of rapid wolves! When Amanda started tearing u they literaly jumped on her..if they could of I imaged they would of cut of her head! Women don't react to pressure then men, we tend to tear up for no reason unless we are without emotions. Jumping down a models throat does not help..I don't mean the woman should of been babies, but there was only hateful comments given, nothing helpful at all. Plus these young people are not given much help in what to do, just constant tear down from the judges. This batch of judges almost makes me not want to watch the show!
Shame on Bravo and Shame on Make Me a Supermodel. Given the preview of the next show it should be called let me make you a porn star. I had no idea that modelling had anything to do with sexually implicit acting. I won't be watching this show again. When I want to watch a show that's looking for a top model, I want to see serious modelling not casting for porn.
Hello all, I'm such a fan, and I want to be on the next season. I hope you guys bring a casting to the south. I know I have what it takes.... See you soon.
