I wanted to take a moment to respond to the commenters on my blog. A lot of you have been making some good points. And there have been some crtiques as well.
Undoubtedly, the competition is getting even more intense. Judging at this point of the show becomes even more difficult, as each of the remaining models approach the level of professionalism and near-flawless performance demanded by every aspect of this job. This is why, as we enter week 10 of the competition, the models need to be pushed even harder, beyond what they think they are capable of.
Of course, not everyone will ultimately have what it takes to become a supermodel - that's a cold, hard fact. But as a professional in this industry, whose livelihood depends on being able to successfully identify a model's profitability based on his or her look and ability to "sell," I also owe it to these aspiring models to provide each of them with the most honest and informed criticism I can give, so that they have the input they need to go as far as they can in their respective modeling careers.
I can say with confidence that, by the end of the show, I will have done my best to help launch the career of a model.
