Holly has a spiritual experience in New Orleans.
This week was all about the supermodel lifestyle. Niki and Tyson surprised us at our house and told us that we were going to New Orleans and we had 30 minutes to pack! Oh my gosh, we were actually getting out of New York! The plane ride was very exhausting and our flight was delayed so we ended up getting there really late but when I saw our hotel/house I flipped out!
I swear it looked like an episode of Cribs. There was this extravagant meal set up with champagne, a huge king size bed, a freaking living room as big as my apartment, gosh I was just floored!! We also had little gifts awaiting for us...like tokens from New Orleans -- a mask, necklace, a voodoo doll, (sorry mom if you saw me playing with that doll, I was only playing -- I wasn't practicing wichcraft!)
After enjoying our new home, we had to hurry and go to bed!! We had an early call time for our photo shoot. The next morning we pulled up to a cemetery!! Oh my gosh, I was so excited! I knew theme of the shoot when we pulled up... something very couture and high fashion!! That's exactly what I want to do!!
We met our photographer Chris, he told us the assignment, and we were to tell a story with our picture -- he wanted real emotions of sadness. I totally got into the part. This was really my dream shoot. It's something you would see in Italian Vogue and just being in the clothes and just the atmosphere of the whole thing really helped me get into it! Perry, Ben and I were paired up for the first shot!
Chris wanted me to be the center piece pf this shot so that was really exciting. Before we started Niki bought is a little prop...Dennis the Raven!! He fit the scene perfectly --there was fog, a raven, a graveyard and Perry, Ben and I looked awesome so I had a lot of good feedback from the first shot and he wanted it to be Perry and me. I actually was glad to work with Perry because I think he has a very high fashion look and that photo shoot turned out awesome too!
I was so happy at the end of the shoot! I actually got to do my dream shoot! So after a long hard day we came back and Ben surprised us. He was taking us to dinner and out the town! We all flipped out! We haven't been out in ages and I couldn't wait to see New Orleans! When we got to dinner there was champagne and this huge spread of Cajun food! We were out on the balcony of the restaurant and threw beads down to people.
A girl flashed me for beads oh my gosh... I about died! It was the funniest thing ever! People there are crazy! This man was taking his clothes off for beads! Gosh I thought Miami was crazy but this for surpasses it! The bad part about dinner was the singers! They really made it. So fun after dinner we walked down Bourbon street!
The next day, we pulled up to a house that was being built for Hurricane Katrina victims! Habitat for humanity! I was so excited about building a house! I really do love helping people. When I was in Miami, I would spend all my money just bringing groceries and bibles around to the homeless people there. It's just this great feeling to know you are helping someone! Miss Cherrie, the lady we helped was the sweetest little woman. She wanted us to sign her walls with love. I wrote her a little message that has really kept me going throughout my modeling career. 'For we walk by faith not by sight."
Miss Cherrie may have her lost her her house and felt like she lost everything but you have faith that when circumstances look so horrible and it looks like there is no way out -- you have to have faith and know everything is going to be ok. That day was such a blessing to me. After building some of the house we had to leave to catch our flight to make it back for the catwalk.
Niki told us our catwalk assignment. We had one prop and it was a skull. We had 45 minutes`to make up a story for the catwalk. It was really tough at first, but we finally collaborated and got our skit together. I opened the show and I had the skull. The story was that everyone was out to kill me for the skull and actually I think all the boys secretly want to kill me so it all worked out. I really got into the role and I had so much fun! The panel really liked my picture and catwalk this week and they chose me to win for the week!! I believe I won for the third week in a row!
I'm so close I want this so bad every opportunity- until now has just slipped through my fingers; I just can't let that happen now! Just two more weeks I have to do this! I love you mom, dad, Ray!! Keep praying!!MUAH!!
