It's time To WEN!

What a week on Married to Medicine. It was explosive!

This week had a lot of focus on the WEN conference, my baby. The conference was so amazing. It's a weekend to renew your mind, redefine your goals, and reimagine your life at new levels of success! So many women have their breakthrough at the WEN conference. I have seen countless women who attend, go on to start businesses, write books, start non-profits, uncover their passion, release their pain, and so much more. Every woman should understand the importance of placing themselves in environments that nurture and support their dreams. Every woman should also understand that it is important to take time for YOU!

If YOU breakdown, a lot of areas in your life will suffer -- so it very important to at least once a year take time out to FOCUS on you. Now my thoughts on this week’s episode. . .Heavenly, I enjoyed watching the breakfast scene with your family. I thought it was great -- and at the same time a bit peculiar that you are teaching your daughter about being submissive to her husband at the age of seven. I get "Raise up a child the way you want them to go," but really do we teach them to submit to a man at the age of seven? Just a thought, maybe better conversations with our daughters at the age of seven might be, "How to act like a lady."

Let me say this though, I do agree with Heavenly that the man is the head of the household and that we have to honor him as such. I also agree with her family's priorities -- God, family and then career. A lot of people give Heavenly pushback about the "whole submit to your man philosophy," but Heavenly from one happily married woman to the next -- I AGREE! I know for a fact you can have a thriving career and a happy and fulfilling marriage when you keep the teachings of the Bible first in your household -- and the Bible does say that the man is the head. So continue to share your message! I love how soft and warm Damon is with the "ladies of his life," and I also love that he values your opinion -- so go daddy!

Now we are on to Toya and her preparation for her new home. I'm excited for her because I know what it feels like when you have outgrown your existing home. It can feel like the walls are closing in. I must say, Toya is owning that she is a beautiful wife, great mother, and a lover of the finer things in life -- and of course she loves spending her husband's money. She is my little "Spenderella!" Hey all I can say is if Eugene is OK with it, then do your thing girl!

As your friend, I want to give you a little advice, if I may, please make sure you stay focused on getting the house because $50,000 is a lot of earnest money. You know what they say, "buying a house is one of the most stressful things a person does in their lifetime." It takes a lot to get to the closing table and with Eugene's schedule, he's definitely going to need your assistance. Stay focused and remember my wealth tip, "It's not about how much you make. . .it's about how much you keep!"  I'm all for furniture shopping, but let's go find a deal!

Mrs. Quad. . .Mrs. Quad. You and Reco are hilarious. I must get the Quad/Judy dictionary to keep up with all your sayings.  "Hunty," "Shady Tree," "That was a read"! I'm learning new words every episode. Anyhow, I'm so glad Reco is going to help you out as the designer. He is very talented and I know he will have those pooches looking "SNATCHED" (That's how you say it right? Or is it SLAYED!) He did that bomber sketch so fast. I can't wait to see what he designs for you. Now you've got your source for fabrics, your designer, and you are on to your investors. How wonderful!

I used my own money with the Lisa Nicole Collection, but an investor is surely a great thing if you can find one. I loved your pitch! I felt like I was watching an episode of The Apprentice. You were compelling. I think your investor was following your vision until Khloe and Kar'rie interrupted. The look on his face and his body language was priceless when the pooches jumped off the table and christened the boardroom. When he grabbed his face and said "LAWD," I couldn’t stop laughing. I think this puppy couture line is going to be fabulous and I think it is going to be a very successful business endeavor! Congrats girl!

Now for the dramatics. . .Simone and Jackie, thank you for all your comments about the behavior of the ladies at the WEN conference. You took the words right out of my mouth every time.

Mariah -- first let me say, thank you for coming to the WEN conference. I was glad you made it. I really appreciate all the nice things you said about the conference. I really WISH you could have been there for the full day because many of the women spoke on topics that could have really helped you.

I have to tell you that when I prepared the topic I was training on, I gave a lot of thought to the situation between you and Quad. I hate you missed most of the talk but I will send you a the DVD/CD of the training, "Discovering the Greatest You Ever." One thing I discuss in this training is that "Hurt People, Hurt People!" Despite how hard and strong you try to be, I think deep down there is a lot of hurt and pain that has not been healed.

I say this because every time I start believing that you really love Quad, I get a glimpse of the other Mariah who is guarded and hurt. . .The one who puts others down to make herself feel better. The one who snapped at the conference and said, "You are the tree and Quad is just a branch." And the one who said, "I'm not coming down from my chariot to throw tomatoes with you sweetheart." Huh, what the hell! Where did that come from? Who says that?

I wish for one moment you would take time to see Quad's perspective. I know you may not have intended to hurt her, but you hurt her. You can see it in her eyes. I don't think she is "doing shows" as you state. If your friendship means anything to you, it's time to put ego aside and dig deep and work through the real emotions/pain that exist between the two of you. "True friends are like diamonds, precious but rare -- False friends are like autumn leaves, ound everywhere." I get it that you are close with your family, but there's nothing like true authentic friendship and sisterhood. Dig deep Mariah! Success happens from the inside out!
