Raised in Brentwood, California, Mary is considered one of the most sought after designers and consistently ranked as one of House Beautiful's "Top 100 Designers." She graduated from Boston University before attending the prestigious Parsons School of Design and beginning her career as a milliner. Through extensive travel in Europe and the Far East, she has created a personal signature style that is eclectic, classic and clean while maintaining a strong sense of glamour and sophistication.
From the refurbishment of Buster Keaton's legendary villa to the recent completion of The Luxe Summit Hotel in Bel Air, Mary's projects and gorgeous interiors have captivated the design community worldwide. She has been featured in major national publications including Town & Country, Veranda, Domino, House & Garden, and International Vogue.
Her first book, Mary McDonald: Interiors, The Allure of Style, was published last fall and showcases her unique style and ravishing interiors. In addition, she is launching her first lighting collaboration with nationally distributed Robert Abbey Inc. and a fabric line with Schumacher coming out soon.
