Mary, also continues the theme of fashion meets design this week with her creation of a chic home office for fashion designer Jill Roberts. Mary successfully installs one of her signature painted floors to maximum impact and beautifully guides her clients taste (slightly reshaping it to Mary's vision of course) to create a wonderful, fresh, and full-on glam fashion pad!
Sadly we don't get to see much this week of the charming Nathan Turner, other than a brief encounter at a designer hot spot "Hollywood at Home" where he shops tong in cheek with his gorgeous side kick Mary. . . Obviously he's saving some marvelous decorating to wow us with next week. . .
And Jeffrey shows us his talents as a chef when he manages to cook an onion tart under the watchful eye of master chef Suzanne Goin. I'm sure it was delicious!
So once again Bravolettes I encourage you to decorate with abandon, let your imaginations run free, take inspiration from all around you, and never be afraid to pull ideas, colors, and shapes from fashion. Be it the embroidery on your blouse, the color of your T-shirt, or the leather stitching on your shoes -- when translated into interiors this becomes a match made in decorative heaven.
Live, love, and decorate -- on Bravo, of course!
Great idea to put those shoes and purses in lucite boxes! I'm gonna steal this idea for sure. I follow Martyn on Twitter and so should you.
Loved your scenes and designs with the Jimmy Choo mogul Tamara Mellon. You mentioned you have known her since age 16. My, what a fantastic life you have!!! LOVE the show, love you on it.
Martyn...love you!! Love the show!! I just adore watching artists create...and you are all so considerate of each other!! The show is a class act...and so are you! THANKS
Mr. Martyn - I'd LOVE to know what you were like, and see pictures of course, when you were a child!!! I imagine you were just as FABULOUS then as now :)
Love you , your personality and of course your TALENT and I do dream of having your style and talent in my home some day but of course I would have to win the big lottery. Thanks for bringing much joy into my home with your designs and smile!
I love your work! So beautiful! It's wonderful how you are able to listen to your clients and give them what they actually want and not what you want them to have like some of the other designers on the show. I believe that takes true talent and I have enjoyed watching you work.
Like I told Mary, I love the show, I love the designers and I love you.
I am totally lost when it comes to design. Think of me as someone who does not cook, who adores cooking shows. Sigh.
I was screaming with Sharon Osbourne. I knew that rug in the bedroom would look great if the furniture around it was simple. Of course it was and the whole apartment are incredible.
The apartment in NYC was amazing. That terrace is unbelievable. I was upset about the tapestry you bought in Turkey - you did not take us with you! I would adore seeing you shop with cameras in tow. In my mind's eye, you are in Paris, finding fun things in small shops, salons and the flea market.
Ta ta till next week!
I love, love, love this show. It is by far the best show on t.v. I love how you have incorporated real people into interior design. So much more interesting than just design. Martyn, I just love you! You are so humble even though you are so successful and great at what you do. I love how you own your shortcomings; addiction to chocolate and how you are always able to keep your cool! Would love to meet you one day!
