Martyn Lawrence Bullard

No Holds Barred

Martyn lets us know how surprised he was to finish Sharon's apartment and how glad he was to get to share it with the viewers.

May 31, 2011

I was so incredibly excited to see the premiere episode of Million Dollar Decorators to see all my friends and partners in crime on the screen and to get a peak into their lives and learn their decorative styles and secrets.

I was, however, even more thrilled to see the coming together of my dear friend and client Sharon Osbourne's "emergency" apartment that I had only a week to completely decorate for her and her legendary rock icon husband, Ozzy. It amazed me, actually, that we could pull off such a feet in such a short time, but somehow we do it -- and you get to see it all. My marvelous staff and our various resources were stretched to the limit to finish the apartment before Sharon's unexpected, early arrival. You get to see me shopping all over L.A., desperate to find chic furniture and accessories that match my clients' larger than life personalities -- yet also find them in stock and available off the floor.

This kind of installation usually takes over three months to pull off. It was an amazing fluke that this project came to us literally the week we started filming for Million Dollar Decorators -- true reality TV at its best. So lucky that Sharon and Ozzy let our cameras into their private world and let Bravo capture this amazing transformation all on our first episode. I'm thrilled that this kicks off an all-exposed, no holds barred insight into the previously never-before-seen world of high design. Its an educational, aspirational, and, most importantly, inspirational show that's exciting to all viewers, whether you are design buffs or not.

Million Dollar Decorators Episode 1 is a must see. I hope you loved it and enjoyed it as much as I did.

I am a designer, i thought the show was very inspirational. i am excited to see the next episode.

Martyn, you are one of my favorites on this show. If you were single I would pursue you. You are charming and handsome. I love how you decorated Sharon and Ozzy's apartment. Those retro pictures were my favorite touch. I just wondered why Sharon need an "emergency apartment" in LA when she already has one or two house nearby. But I guess if you have the money then it isn't an issue. Watching that one kid sneeze and then proceed to cook was gross. I hope you didn't get sick.

Absolutely loved the show and especially YOU darling...I only wish I had a million to spend on decorating...I would call you in an instant!

love THE SHOW, LOVE YOUR FLAIR! This is what I am talking about, Bravo. Let's see more of the lifestyles of the rich and famous, and those that have access to them, like Mr. Bullard, here. I have followed Bullard's work somewhat unknowingly through decor magazines. Now that I see you on this show, I love how your philosophy supports bringing out the style of the client, and using your fabulous skills to pull it all together. You do an amazing job, and lucky for us you are totally entertaining while doing so. LOVE YOU! LOVE the whole show!

Martyn, I am an artist/graphic designer so I admire your decorating ability. However something is puzzling me about Sharon's apt. Why did you place those lamps with huge shades in the front of the two rather expensive framed photographs? One of the lamp shade was completely covering the artwork.

I love love love this show!!! It's so much fun to see the beautiful spaces and the process of creating them. I would love to know the paint color you used on the Osbournes apartment walls. Can't wait till next weeks episode:)

Omg Martyn, has anyone ever said you look like a very fashionable Morrissey ?! Adorable, you're my favorite!

Love your style, however I was shocked when you described a Mies Barcelona Chair as an Eames chair. I am hoping that was just a mistake, a designer on your level should know the absolute difference.

Cheers.

Darling loved loved loved your designs, as a fellow Brit I was so very proud you rocked it.

loved loved loved the show...inspired in many ways.

Handsome, commanding and full of flair. You are a hit on this show, and your style is magnificent! LOVE it, love you on this show.

I think you are a fantastic designer. However, I was shocked when you were commenting on a Mies Barcelona chair... you referred to it as an Eames.

Loved the show in destin fl. Keep it up

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SHOW... AND YOU ARE AMAZING AS A DESINGER. SHARON OSBORNE ACTUALLY IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE SO I ENJOYED THIS FIRST EPISODE. LOVED HER APARTMENT, CANT WAIT TO SEE MORE

You have the best job on the planet. So glad Bravo launched this yummy show. Us regular folks don't want tips on decorating on the cheap; we want to see how the super-big-dogs do it - and get a glimpse of how they (you) maneuver through your gorg world.

Love, love your show. You're my favorite designer. I checked out your website. My mom loved one of your bedroom design. So inspirational. Aloha from Hawaii! oh yes, do an episode from a house in Hawaii. That would be cool!

Loved the show but wanted to see much more of you! You are the only Decorator that seems to really be working. Can not wait to see what you do next Tuesday.

Loved seeing everything come together for Sharon's apartment- it looks fabulous! You have an amazing sense of style. You quickly have become my favorite on the show.

Wow! The decorating Morrissey! You amuse me & I love the style of your own home. I am wondering if they used mismatched audio & video when you seemed to be calling a Barcelona chair an Eames?

Love you Martyn. You are adorable. It's not only that you are obviously an extremely talented artist/decorator... But despite your success, you have remained warm, honest, open, humble and funny. In my imagination I could afford to hire you, or if I was younger even work for you.
