Happy 2013 to all the wonderful viewers of Million Dollar Decorators. Ross and I have been in Aspen getting some much needed rest and relaxation after an event filled year. Now it is 2013 and tomorrow its back to work creating more beautiful spaces, places and things.
This year I would really love more feedback from you on what it is you like and love and what you would like to see more of from me.
In this week's episode I took the opportunity to design the Nantucket house entirely from catalogues to show that, although I am a Million Dollar Decorator, I can still make a great space on a realistic budget and so can you. I’d love to create more great products at prices that we can all afford so that great design is not exclusive to the wealthy.
Have been hunting through the sources given on the 'Extras' link just as this episode is being replayed on Bravo and looking for items on the websites mentioned. Not sure if it's the sound on the video but are the globe sconces from Lowe's? Thought I heard Ross mention Lowe's, but the second time he mentioned it, the client spoke over him. Almost makes me think I should put on the closed captioning feature in the future so I don't miss anything! Could you please give more detailed list on the 'Extras' ie. where you sourced that great rough wood desk as well? Not everything that is shown in a retil location is shown on a store's website. Thanx!
Jeffrey, loved the Nantucket show, it's one of my favorite places, I have to ask, where did you get that blue nautical sweater with the wooden buttons? I have to know, love it along with your work of course. I really like your house also
JAM! I loved your Nantucket house! I loved those little globe lights and the chandelier in the bedroom and the ottomans! When you guys went to the antiques store and I know you didn't buy it or use it in your home, but I loved that golden running horse that was in the doorway over your shoulder in a shot. I wish I had that! Anyways! Good luck to you and Ross in the next year!
Jeffrey, I absolutely love you and your style. You are by far my favorite Designer on the show. I go through your portfolio constantly for design inspiration. I think you would be a joy to work with and I'm sure your clients adore you. I loved the Nantucket home but it's impossible for me to pick a favorite. Love you!
Love the Nantucket project. With all due respect to our President, I have to agree with your definition of 'wealthy' and not his. Have a new 5,000 sq foot home to decorate plus college tuitions @ $55k a pop - doesn't leave much of a decorating budget, and while I appreciate fine antiques and high end furnishings, I just can't justify spending tens of thousands of dollars on a dining room table right now. I do know that interior design is like fashion - there are few core pieces where you should always buy the best quality you can afford and sometimes you can 'cheat' and spend less money on well-designed accessories Just read that you have included a source list under 'Extras' - thanx for sharing!
The Nantucket client's house in Ca. had some amazing draperies with a detailed lead edge border...any ideas if this was a pattern on fabric or fabric applied to create the pattern.
I think you guys are a hoot. I must say, the Nantucket home by far...is my all time FAVORITE!!
OOps. I just asked for a product listing and found it under Extras!
Thanks so much for giving up this info!
Loved this episode! You did a fabulous job! How about helping the poorer masses than could never afford you and giving out some of your catalog sources for this project. We know West Elm, because we saw it, but I really need your help and this design nailed what I'm going for!!! Pretty please???
Happy New Year! I wish you happiness and continued success
wow..I must say you have been my least favorite..but you really amazed me with this blog..kudos to you ..coming off that high horse and showing empathy for us real folks...maybe there is some real substance to you..happy new year..do love your work....
sawtsie LOL
I wasn't sure if you were promoting the idea of great design through catalogs or dissing it. You seemed to go back and forth. It seemed evident that West Elm was a paying sponsor of the show so for you to complain about the lameness of mass produced catalog wares had me confused. But then you rejoiced in them. But then you added the Christian Liagre bench and the goods you just happened to find all in one antique store. I love this show but between this, Linday Lohan, and people coughing up blood over in England it seems far from reality.
loved the design, love Nantucket, love you!!
Jeffrey and Ross love you guys! Love your style. Was interesting to see you work on a smaller budget. Sure, your custom furniture is just beautiful , but most people don't have that luxury .We have to resort to, dare I say Pottery Barn. Love watching , from begining stages to end results. Ps. You guys are so handsome!!!
Fantastic, beautiful home in Nantucket! It's great to see the possibilities that could relate more to those on limited budgets. Blessings to you and Ross for 2013!
Glad you rose to the occasion @jeffreyalanmarks. when your client presented this opportunity to you, the way you reacted, i thought you were going to pass. BRAVO to you and @mrrosscassidy for taking the challenge. Looking forward to seeing the results. Now, can you come a redo my lower east side home? :*)
yes Ive always thought its easy to make rooms look nice with a big budget. Making them look great with a small limited budget is where real skill and imagination comes into play. Thats when you have very limited choices.

You completely refreshed and revived the Nantucket look. Beautiful project. More please!!
