Publication vs. Posterity

Jeffrey explains his frustration with showrooms, but congratulates Mary, Martyn, and Kathryn for their work.

I had such fun watching Mary, Martyn, and Kathryn sweat bullets getting their rooms pulled together for the Greystone opening! It takes a tremendous amount of effort to put together a fictional room for a showcase house, only to have it dismantled only days later. I prefer to design rooms for posterity rather than publication.

My fellow decorators got really competitive vying for the cover, that ironically, none of them got. Their antics and commentary are hysterically funny. They all created rooms worthy of publication and they put their backs into it. You have to admire their level of commitment to the project.

I also learned that Kathryn is thirty-something, and that Mary’s jewelry functions equally well as furniture. Her bracelet-and-drinks table is fantastic.

Ross and I are off to Aspen for some much needed R-and-R; it's been a very long and busy year. Wishing you all the best for the festive season! Keep safe and spread some love.
