Outfits Make the Episode

Mary discusses how great she looked in this episode and the Greystone show house.

I love love love this episode. . .probably because I don't look as tired as my New York episode and my vanity has taken hold. I like my green shirt and my velvet blue blazer and my office outfits with the sweaters and the suede safari jacket, my show house grey flannel with the scarab necklace. . .and on and on. . .I feel MUCH better about this fashion stint than last week where I was somehow a Jenny Craig ad for petites.

I also get a real kick out of watching Kathryn and I duke out our little "space problem" because she and I couldn't be more different. I love how she calls my two halls a Bazaar. Sometimes she can be so ornery that it makes me laugh actually. The entertainment value is worth it. . .I almost egg her on for it. She can't live in my houses and I cannot live in hers so we are like Jack sprat and his wife -- as the rhyme goes. Seems like neither of us is being invited to do either thank god!!!

We get to see the magnificent Greystone mansion that was once owned by the Doheny family which owned most of Beverly Hills in the first half of 20th Century. It is truly a magnificent Estate which has remained untouched and preserved as part of the city of Beverly Hills. It is truly a magnificent Estate and I have got to run out and get myself one immediately.

When Luxe magazine asked us all to design rooms for their show house issue you can see how we all got an uggghh thinking about shelling out a fortune for another show house. I was given the choice of any room I wanted in the house from Pam Jaccarino and for some reason thought I was being edgy taking the pair of GRAND ENTRY halls, which were quite grand. Much to my chagrin after we got going I realized they were more work than doing one of the major rooms but with scattered impact.

I had to make the left and the right halls read as my own and sister halls while they were separated by a bit of foyer. I did a fantastic job but it was more effort than it had to be all because my chooser was a little off the day we picked. Ultimately I had some of the best architectural elements to deal with such as the plaster ceilings, the carved ornate over doors and wainscoting -- but creating an impact was not the easy virtuous task I initially thought. Please someone write me and remind me to never do that again. . .seriously. . .never. I am only choosing something with a focal point which brings me to Kathryn. Poor thing got stuck with an even less focal point off to the side of my focal point. Perhaps being a bazaar isn't that bad???

Thank God she had the liquor on that little drink cart for us. Who has little liquor stand drink carts in their sewing room? Well I am going to start. It is a great idea.

I think I might just be happy with this episode because I liked my different outfits. I swear sometimes the outfit and jewelry thing can ruin my day. If I can't "feel it" I want to go home and change ALL DAY! Isn't that horrible? It's true. Kenna and Olga think I am insane. But I am so who cares.

OMG! I forgot! Can we talk about Kathryn and the PIlates? No, maybe we shouldn't as I think Ms. Ireland's naughty comments should be put to bed. Yes that is a good idea. Nighty night to that.

Well Martyn did outdo himself this time taking three different room spaces with the dressing room and little foyer off the men's room. That little Diva did a great paisley ditty in there I must say. It is a perfect place for some Martyn poses and so glad he got all those pages!

I am going to get my little YSL rock specimen out and have a drink on it to commend the evening.

Signing off,
Truly Yours,
Mary McDonald

A Bravo Special in the Making

Kathryn reflects on the super fast season -- and the surprise engagement.

How could eight episodes already be over? The season has flown by.

It's been an amazing season with my beloved cast members all being a little out there, to put it mildly.

In this episode I finish Lindsay's house in the Hollywood Hills, making her a princess cottage that will help her to feel safe!

Martyn continues with the British pub for his sister. There are naturally a few hike ups on the way, but leave it to Martyn to pull it off.

Mary works on her own house, and, with the help of Nathan and Konstantine, she has a triumph on her hands.

We all end up at Mary's for the reveal of her new decor and the episode ends with one of us getting engaged. . . Who could that be? Do I see a wedding in the French country side next summer?

I see a Bravo special in the making. . .
