What a season it has been! Amazing deals were closed (well at least mine), amazing drama, and amazing clients! Selling almost 100 million in sales so far in 2012 has made it an incredible year for me!
This was a special episode for me. My whole family made an appearance and everyone got to see how much fun we all have as a family. Everyone also finally saw how The Altman Brothers get it done! Like I said in the episode, my brother Matt is my mentor in the business and most of what I know I learned from him. He has closed some incredible deals in his career and is a major force in the Los Angeles real estate business. In fact, he trumps the other two guys on the show in sales!
Newport is an amazing place. I love it and do a lot of business there. The gated community of Pelican Crest, where we sold the home, is the best of the best. If I had the money, that's where I would live! That driving scene with Matt was hysterical. . .reminds me of everyday . . .LOL.
Sometimes you need to get creative when convincing a seller to reduce their price. The "Guess List" game we came up with was a great way to get a pulse on the local experts opinions while having concrete evidence for our seller to lower his price.
Hey Josh, I love you and I love your family. You are exciting to watch, ambitious, confident and very sharp. I am also in the real estate business in NYC and love to watch you work. Love your attitude! Can't wait to see you in next seasons episods.
I agree with all the comments that you're nothing but a Hustler! I would never use you to list my house.
I hope bravo does not bring you back next season...go some where else to sell your dream !!!!!
Josh, You might be a great broker but one of the things you are not is honest. I have seen many times when you have been given a number by your client to go in at and you always low ball that number. I know you are looking for the best deal but to me that is total dishonesty. What if you lost a good deal because of your offering too low. I think you are playing the sellers and your clients. BTW, stay out of Heathers business. She can handle herself just fine, no thanks to you.
My biggest turn off about this show is you. Your arrogance and constant put downs on Josh Flagg and Madison show how self centered you are. You proved it goes beyond the show by your blog posting above. The competitive drive is important and needs to stay positive as the industry is small and you never know who you just may run into. You only talk about yourself and your networth which to many of us could care less. In today's society, community service, social issues and compassion are high on the priority list. Making money is great but there needs to be a balance and you so far have showed none of this. I hope you can change and see there are greater things in life besides making money and putting others down cause I sure would hate to have to fast forward when the Josh Altman name flashes up on my screen for the next season.
As for Mikey, although he is entertaining, he hurts you in more ways than you can see. I would be humiliated if my assistant could not show a multi million dollar listing and know all the facts. It is your job to prep him, it is no joke and I would be pissed if my agent thought it was funny and did not take my money seriously. If he is not qualified to sell or has no license to do so, then he should not be your assistant. Just shows again, your bad business judgements. Time to grow up Josh and maybe spend more time with your brother learning human relations.
Josh, I'm a 55 year old woman with 2 sons of my own and I have to say, I just LOVE seeing you and your brother. You two are SHARP and I KNOW your parents are proud of you. NOW, God has TRULY blessed you. He's given you good common sense, a good, strong family, LOTS of love, you are financially secure and He's brought you a good woman. It is now time for you to show that being 'hard' is only necessary in business but not in your relationships. While it might be good viewing, it is better for us to see you extend the olive branch and right the wrong with the other guy. There's no need to continue that nonsense. God bless you and keep up the good work.
Josh you are an exciting guy to watch and I LOVE MIKE. Yes, there were LOW behaviors unflattering to you that showed immaturity, but overall you are the life of the party and funny, and that's all that matters to me as a wiewer. And your family, OMG this should be a reality show "THE ALTMANS" Your father is HILARIOUS and your bro, what a hoot. I sincerely hope you marry Heather so we can watch the 3 of you compete with one another! Good luck and great work! I learned a lot from you for my own sales. GREAT THANKS!
Josh, I like you and I like your family. Oh and I love Mickey! I am just very skeptical about Heather. Everybody thinks you are the bad guy in the picture, but I think Heather is. I think she is very smart and she knows that with you, she will get ahead financially because you have the experience, connections and a great family. I think she needs you like the air she breathes and she is dying to be Mrs. Altman...good luck!
Lana Wow you have a very low opinion of women, all the women I know are pretty, smart, loyal, trust-worthy, wonderful and addicted to nothing. Josh's actions state that with him $ is always first.
Hmm..very interesting. You do see the trend here..people are more drawn to Josh F and Madison because they are genuine and actually care what the seller and potential buyer want. While they agree money in the bank is better than not, they don't spend their wheels focusing on it. They actually see past themselves and that is an endearing quaility.
I think as a kid I would have been mortified if peers knew what my Dad did. Thus I suspect that fuels your drive in so many areas.
Wow, two years and you decide living together is better than asking for her hand in marriage. There are so many RED flags from both you and Heather. Maybe Madison will be right in the long run.
Josh F and Madison let us see their compassion, their love for what they do. You show us cold, arrogance, and most importantly everything is about you.
But, seeing you family interact, I can see where the coldness comes from. Warmth, and real taks I think not, superficial and laughter, much!
Big deal Heather lives with you...isn't a ring and wedding..two years in...soon her time clock will be ticking and she will push for marriage and you will RUN!
Josh, you are a skilled negotiator and think fast on your feet. Congrats on your successes, however, I don't understand why you are always putting down Josh and Madison. It's petty and nasty and they are both talented and competent.
Heather and you seem very much in love. I was kind of hoping for a big rock to end the season...hope she got just what she wanted. She and Madison are meant to be friends. Hope you can live with that under your new roof together. Lots of luck and happiness.
Once again you have shown yourself to care about no one but yourself. I hope that clients wanting to sell their homes watch how you degrade your business.
It's nice to know they are others in the business that really care about their clients, and not just the "bragging rights" of a sale.
Now that you have shown yourself on national TV, I predict that you will not be getting a lot of clients because of your sarcastic attitude.
You try and make fools of clients and I would not hire you as my "pool boy".
Josh, I've been watching Million Dollar Listing since day one and I have to say that while you didn't sit well with me the first season, you really have grown on me:) Despite what others are saying, I like your sales approach, you're in the business of making HUGE deals w/ players who have DEEP pockets and you do it great! You have saved your clients hundereds of thousands of dollars by implementing some of your "dealing" strategies. You've also been very charitable by giving "freebies" to the people your Mom has sent your way. That, I believe is a true testament to your character towards family and helping those who need it. I still remember the little old lady you helped in season one with her condo, you were a doll with her. Keep up the good work, you are awesome! Wishing you all the best w/ future listings and Heather, she's gorgeous and sweet:)

Right... you are Number 1, you are the best, your brother is better than Josh & Madison, your ties are the best, your numbers are the best, your parents are the best - you are the best! We get it. Why do you need to keep saying it - over and over again. Endless bragging is a sign of insecurity....
And why no mention of your girlfriend doing the honorable thing by going to see Madison in his hour of grief? Would it have tarnished your shiny gold veneer to say that Heather made the right decision? Nope, you'd rather praise her for throwing a drink in his face in previous blogs! Sad...
arrogant much! try to remember when you fall down the ladder the only thing you have left is you.
I know, Josh A never puts the interest of the client before himself. Like when he could have sold that one house for more and he didn't--he sold it for less and he did that for the client. I don't know why everyone hates him so much. Just because he's confident and a little cocky everyone wants to put him down. Doesn't everyone always wants their children to be confident and successful? Besides the Madison drama--there wasn't one other issue where you could say that he did clients wrong or anything of the sort. He was upset with Madison because of what was happening with Heather and I guarantee you there's TONS of husbands out there that would've reacted the exact same way if it was their wives.
@moxiegirl Umm..... yeah, really ! Tell me where he did clients wrong..... or whatever it is you're talking about.
Nancy.esquire I agree. I can see sometimes Josh Altman has false bravado. I believe he is insecure. He does sell a lot, is a competent negotiator, but likes to price low to boost his sales. Then he brags incessantly about how much he sells. I am really tired of him patting himself on the back. Heather definitely handled things better when she stopped acquiescing to Josh's bad suggestions.
Me thinks your constant need to one up the other two guys really highlights how insecure you really are. I'm not a huge fan of Madison (love Josh F.), but both he and Josh F. truly seem to want to get the deal that is best for their client, whereas you seem much more interested in the best interest of Josh Altman. Further, I thought it was interesting that when she followed her own instincts, Heather was able to resolve her issues with Madison. When she took your advice, you both were made to look like fools.
I actually liked Josh Altman during his first season, but he definitely turned up the arrogance this year and he lost me. He kind reminds me of certain real housewives (Jill Zarin, Nene) who let their c-list celebrity status go to their head. We saw Josh Flagg on more than one occasion encourage the property owners to lease their property until the market improves. I liked seeing Flagg risk a large commission for what he deemed a good deal for the client in the long run. I could be wrong, but I don't recall Altman ever suggesting this option. I recall him looking visibly frustrated and annoyed when the client didn't immediately agree to his pricing opinion. He probably does close more properties, but if clients aren't in a bind that requires them to sell, I'm not sure he gets them the best deal in the long run. Frederic is just as arrogant on the New York show, but for some reason it doesn't seem as manufactured as Altman's arrogance. And I credit this to the fact that I believe Frederic really is confident and secure with himself. In any event I hope Altman tones it down next season because I did like him last year ( although he's till a huge improvement over Chad).
