This week's episode was the best one yet. Between the comedy, jabs at each other, drama, and good deals getting done, this episode had it all.

I'm sure Madison will talk about how wrong it was how I played him and him buyers like a well thought out game of chess, but I did what I had to do to make sure my clients who are my only priority get the best deal and the property they want. There's a reason why buyers all over the world call me every day asking me to represent them and you have seen it first hand on this episode why.

Why is it that I never see you with any friends Josh? The only one who will deal with you is your brother. I'm surprised he even wants his name associated with you. If I were him I would change my name after seeing how you wheel & deal on the show & how people aren't too fond of you.  I can't imagine why anyone would want to use you as their agent if they saw you on TV.. J Flagg & Madison are friendly to each other, Madison had Heather work for him & he got along with her til you came along, he also gets long with other realtors & he even had tons of friends show up for his dogs passing!!!  J Flagg always has people he takes on to help them learn the business (loved the 2 girl & now this guy) he's so nice to them & he also gets along with other realtors including Heather. But I noticed you don't seem to get along with anyone. The way you acted when you were holding your clients baby, geez Josh.  If you value your clothes so much why would you even ask to hold the baby? And calling the baby "It".  Nice move there. You haven't learned your people skills yet. You may think your a big shot right now being on TV but people will remember for a long time how they saw you on the show & it's hard to change first impressions. You don't want to be remembered as that  slimeball from Million Dollar Listing do you? .If not then try to change your ways while you still can. Think of what you want people to say & what you want them to remember at your funeral when you feel yourself being a jerk.  Don't you want them to say "He was a good guy who will be greatly missed" or do you want them to say "Gee that's too bad, he'll be missed ha ha",

I'm pretty sure he is considered sleazy by reputable agents. Did you see how Mauricio dismissed Josh when he wanted to discuss business with Heather.

Is their an ethics board in california?? He cant be a realtor because the right to use that title is governed by a board of ethics, this manipulative sleazebag should be selling used cars and once enough of his "clients" see what a shady character he is, he wont be able to sell hot dogs on the corner...the cream rises to the top and the dregs fall to the bottom...thank you madison for showing altman how its done without sacrificing your integrity.

Josh, I would never let you near my house to sell it. You really are greasy. I can't imagine your parents are proud of you. Unless this show is so bogus and it's all a big act. As for Heather? Everyone knows all is fair between love and war while negotiating. Even though Josh Altman appears to be a good negotiator in real estate, he’s a definite BULLY and for no apparent reason. He gets his jollies off by trying to intimidate other Realtors. If a person is “ALL THAT” it will show. You don’t have to put everyone down around you to make yourself SHINE. You don’t have to bully a person or try to make them feel less confident or embarrass them in front of other Realtors/Clients to make yourself appear more impressive. Trying to steal another Realtor’s client in front of them is extremely unprofessional and unethical. Bravo, we know you like to stir up the pot for ratings but, honestly if someone doesn’t talk to Josh Altman regarding bullying people, we will continue changing the channel when he comes across the screen or just stop watching the show period and we love Madison. The last time I checked, BULLYING is not tolerated in the US. Remember Josh, it doesn’t matter how many designer suits/shoes you wear, bullying and being such a cocky person is not a good look for anyone and especially you.

OMG these people are foolish! Agents job isnt about the other agent not in the deal... its about getting the deal for your client... NOTHING ELSE! Madison is a crybaby and should have double offered himself! He always seems to forget its a business about making dollars not friends.

I have always thought Madison was a weak negotiator, and just wants to make a sell...not at the expensive of his client. I don't think he is self serving, but he caves way to easy in the negotiating practice, he seems to lack the confidence to push for his client and this weakness does not give his buying client the best deal, nor his listing client the best price...I would not hire him for that reason,...I do like him, but I think he really let the thing with Heather really get to him...almost as though he is jealous of Josh Altman, and it makes me wonder if he may not be willing to admit he may be Bi-Sexual.  There appears to be  a lack of acceptance from both the straight and gay world for those that identify themselves as Bi sexual which I think is very sad and unfair

 

Josh Altman, is a very tough negotiator and represents his clients well, whether it be the Buyer or Seller Yes, he is brash at times, but he is a skillful negotiator. And he always presents himself in a professional manner(with the exception of his conflicts with Madison(but then that is what makes good TV), which on these high end transaction must business professional would appreciate. I would hire him.

 

Josh Flag, is just plain lovable, unfiltered, and smart. He could be a little more professional in his approach, but he is honest, a good negotiator, and I would trust him to do the right thing regardless of commission, and anyone who loves his Grandmother like he does is good in my book...I would hire him

If I wanted to sell I would certainly use Madison's sincerity, but to buy I would go with you and get it for the price I want. so you both have negatives and positives.

What I do not comprehend is why, Josh Altman, each episode you appear to be so fearful concerning each business listing. Can you not simply put your real estate knowledge to good use, treat all people -- your clients and your colleagues -- respectfully? Listing and selling a home  does not need to be a competition. You may compete against your own record, if you choose, but that can lead you to despair quickly. Other things beyond your control control how clients behave, how other real estate agents behave. Don't let those factors worry you so darned much. When I see someone attempt to pull the wool over the eyes of a potential client, or someone treat another professional disrespectfully, discourteously, I see a big caution red flag that warns me not to trust that individual. You're in the business of building relationships; don't forget that part. Become a trustworthy colleague, a  trustworthy friend.

What I don't understand is with all your sales, top broker awards and high earnings, why do you live in a crummy little nothing house?  I don't think you would even take on your house to sell as a client because the commission would be so low.  And Heather, what are you thinking? What goes around comes around.   Take a lesson in ethics and morality.  Or just flat out kindness.

 @rizball Rizball..Stop...Madison would have had to have the consent of his Clients in order to make offers on both properties. Now, just what is he to tell his Clients when he presents them with an offer for the house they want AND then just bring along another offer for a house they do not want? You are naive to put it kindly. Oh yes, as a Realtor, it is ALL about relationships in this business. I take excellent care of my Clients. In turn, they come back to me for all their real estate needs. They refer their friends, family, and associates to me because of that RELATIONSHIP!!! Taking care of my Clients = the money taking care of itself!!!!

Madison got his wish and purchased a house he wanted for his clients...negotiations are never 'pretty'...people that look for 'grace' in brokers are smoking something....before they talk, they should try to be a broker,,,then they can describe what it takes.  most people commenting here probably never dealt with real estate in the hot areas of Los Angeles. it is never 'pretty'....and almost always full of elbow-pushing behavior. To make money and buy a property that will make you money is almost always 'an up-heal' bottle. I want a broker that will push my offer through the debris of competition. It is never about 'nicely-behaved good-looking' persona....Madison did rent a property because he could not sell it in 2 moths. Being 'good looking' did not help.

Altman didnt have Madisons clients interest in mind, he had his clients interest in mind. He got the house he wanted but had a plan B ready to go.

 @Angiexyz  @isitrealorisitbravo I was sad about that part too, and didn't like what he had to do. but he is representing the buyer, not the seller in that transaction. The buyer did not need to disclose the information to Josh regarding his future plans with the house, but he did, and if disclosing this to the sellers would cost him the house, then Josh was obligated as the buyers agent not to share that information. His friend being an agent didn't like it, but as an agent , she recognized his first obligation is to his client. Should he have disclosed his client was actually willing to go a little higher too, so his friend's mother in-law could get more money?...had he done any of those things, his buyer could have sued him, for improperly representing him, in favor of "helping his friend". Josh was in a tough spot, but he did what an agent is suppose to do for his client, get him the best price with the best terms.

 @Angiexyz  @isitrealorisitbravo It did suck but he has a legal duty to his client to make the deal happen once he was in it. He didnt know until after the negotiation was done. I dont think he felt good about it either but his client put him in a bad position.

The elbow-pushing, never pretty story is a cop out.  There are brokers that can keep it clean but go for the bottom line no matter what real estate area you are in. You can paint a pretty picture about how things are different in Los Angeles but that's ok to each his own.  I would love to see Mauricio on the show in his element.

 @Twitterbee  @Gracie2012 Josh is as clean as it gets to close the deal above the expectations. Madison record does not support 'above expectations'. Most of the time it is 'below the expectations'. I write software because i am not good at 'elbow-pushing'...I would never be a good broker...not my cap of tee. You can not be good at what you do...you have to be the best at what you do. And Josh passing it with flying scores.
