David Parnes: This Was Very Much an Emotional Sale

David believes sensitivity was the key to this sale's success.

By David Parnes

I absolutely loved working on this deal with James. I felt very connected to Dagmar and Alex and completely understood where they were coming from. It's not easy to face selling a home that you've made a life in over the last 15 years. This was very much an emotional sale, and, as I mentioned, it isn't always about the commission. In this case, it was about doing right by Dagmar, Alex, and the beautiful home that they'd built. Fortunately, the property spoke for itself.

It's Not All About the Commission

Kris was being smart when he came in at a lower price, but we knew he had fallen in love with the place and that a couple of hundred thousand dollars was not going to scare him away from closing the deal. We also knew that we owed it to Dagmar and Alex to get Kris to jump above $6 million. The property was worthy of it, and there was no way Dagmar would budge at a penny less.

I believe that our sensitivity to our sellers combined with persistence with the buyer is what helped us to close this deal. It was so nice to see both parties content and excited with the agreement made. Definitely a great sale all around!
