Chad: "I am Such a Lucky Guy"

Chad Carroll reveals what you didn't get to see at the proposal and fills you in on the wedding details.

By Chad Caroll

Asking Jen to marry me was one of the most nerve-racking things I have ever done. When I saw the look on her face and the words “yes” come out of her mouth I couldn't help myself from tearing up. It was the best feeling in the world to know that the person you love and care about so much is going to be with you forever. The past four years have been the best years of my life, and I owe much of my success to her. As we pulled back into the dock I had another surprise waiting. Family is extremely important to both of us, and I couldn't imagine sharing it with anyone besides both of our families so I invited them all to come down. Jen was shocked and so happy.

When Steve asked me to get the Tower Suite for $3.5 million, I wasn't kidding when I said that wasn't going to be easy. He was asking me to do something that no one else could do. I have great relationships with developers, but that only goes so far especially with a high demand unit it the St. Regis. The sales rep Silvia was trying to play hardball with me, but there is no better negotiator out there than me. When they came down to $3.6 million right away I knew there was a chance and I got it. I’m sure throwing in the furniture didn't make them happy, but I knew that we got that far and they weren't going to back out. At the end of the day I represent Steve, not the developer, and I will do anything to make my clients happy and get them the best possible deal.

Since the season ended I have been working extremely hard and closing deal after deal. I have also been looking into possible development opportunities. The time is right for me now to move in that direction. Nothing would be better than to build my own luxury condo and sell it out myself! Wedding plans have been non-stop and we are both very excited for the big day. I let Jen do most of the planning and chime in when I am asked. My brother told me that was the best approach to take and I am glad I listened. We are planning on having a very large wedding in Ohio where most of our family lives. I am such a lucky guy to have such caring family, friends, and of the best part of them all, Jen.
