We chatted with the Michael (and his dad Howard) about this season of 'MDL NY' and Michael's real estate future.

Bravotv.com: Tell us about how you felt when Michael got into real estate. Where you surprised he followed in your footsteps?
Howard Lorber: Like any father whose son opts to pursue the same career path, I was proud. Michael could have selected any field and he would excel and I would be proud. . . but the ability to work alongside him is great.

Bravotv.com: Tell us a bit about how you made the switch from law to real estate? What drew you to the field?
Michael Lorber: People are always surprised to hear I have a law degree (and a Master's). People also think the two are very different fields, but they're actually very similar. The judge is replaced by an apartment. The jury is the client. Both fields are about winning. Real estate is in my blood. The law degree gives me extra knowledge when it comes to contracts and laws. I use the skills I learned in law school everyday!

Bravotv.com: Howard, how has it been seeing Michael's work play out this season? Are there any things he's done that you would change?
HL: Michael remained true to himself and gave everyone the respect they deserved this season. Would have had him pull in more sales. . .

Bravotv.com: How has it been seeing all of your work played back this season? Are there any things you would change?
ML: It's very hard to properly explain what happens when you start to "watch" your life -- as opposed from just living it without the watchful eye of the Bravo camera. Any changes? Would have liked to have closed a few more deals. . .grown six-more-inches. . .
