We chatted with the Michael (and his dad Howard) about this season of 'MDL NY' and Michael's real estate future.

Bravotv.com: What's the biggest piece of advice you tried to give Michael when he was starting out?
HL: Be smart. Be respectful. Be cautious. And he is always all three!

Bravotv.com: What lesson have you taken away from your dad's real estate style?
ML: My dad always remains very even keeled -- in real estate control is king. I always try and take that extra breath before going into any negotiation. You lose control, you lose the deal.

Bravotv.com: How did you think the show would affect Michael's business?
HL: Although I was not initially happy with his decision, at the end of the day, the show has turned out to be a major commercial for him, his business, and Douglas Elliman Real Estate

Bravotv.com:How did you think the show would affect your business?
ML: I assumed I would see more traffic. . .but never expected to not only grow new listings, but take in college students looking for jobs, woman in middle America looking for dates. I'm pretty sure someone proposed via Facebook.

Bravotv.com: What did you think of the way the co-listing with Fredrik and Michael went? Do you think Michael was wronged by Fredrik?
HL: This is a business and while Michael is my son -- at work he's just another agent under the Douglas Elliman Real Estate umbrella. The real estate world, like the business world, is very competitive.
