There are many ways to describe Brad Pitt. Handsome, hottie, humanitarian, and now... hotelier? Spending a night at Brad's place may soon become a reality if the actor's proposed $1.5 billion luxury real estate development on Croatia's Adriatic coast comes to fruition.
People reports that Pitt traveled to Croatia last week. He arrived at Zadar Airport then headed south on a small boat cruise down a 50-mile stretch of coastline to Šibenik and spent the night at the waterside D-Resort where, resplendent in all white, he posed for photos with staff before inspecting the proposed project site in nearby Zablaće.
Pitt was joined on the tour by architect Nikola Bašić, designer of both D-Resort and the famous Zadar sea organ, a giant sculpture that plays music created by sea waves passing through tubes beneath its marble steps.
According to a local website, the development is set to include luxury villas and hotels, a golf course, restaurants, and shops. The site notes that it's not the first time Pitt has considered investing in Croatia. In 2012, Pitt was looking into investing in a luxury waterfront resort opposite the Brijuni Islands in the north of the country that included hotels, villas, a golf course and a marina. According to Bašić, Pitt is smitten with Croatia, calling it, “the most beautiful country he has ever visited.”
Certainly plenty more celebs seem to agree. The Croatian coast has welcomed the likes of Bono, Reese Witherspoon, and Roman Abramovich's famous yacht this summer.
