You have never seen an airplane like this. No — neither Etihad's famous flying apartment, nor The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Erika Girardi's private plane... nor even Donald Trump’s gilded 757 come close.
Luxury cruise brand Crystal AirCruises has unveiled the latest designs for the first aircraft, a Boeing 777-200LR. And it’s going to be so major, views of the interior might bring tears to devoted jetsetters’ eyes.
In the fall of next year, Crystal is expected to launch flights on the plane for just 84 guests on each leg, to some of the world’s most exotic and remote locales. Lucky passengers will fly in insane first-class accommodations on 14-, 21- and 28-day itineraries.
Crystal is currently transforming its 777 with plush seats that fully recline into flat beds, airy social spaces, large flat-screen TVs, butler and concierge services, and Michelin star-inspired cuisine.
The plane is larger and newer than any private jet travel option — and appointed with features more commonly found in luxury hotel suites. An expansive social lounge has a standup bar, two divans, and four dining tables with dedicated seating for six guests — so you can become buddies with your fellow one percenters.
Cuisine will be prepared by a dedicated executive chef in two state-of-the-art galleys and paired with a high-end wine list.
Other comforts and conveniences will include Bose noise-cancelling headphones, Apple iPads, global Wi-Fi, 24-inch interactive TVs with on-demand programming and music library, individual USB ports and power outlets, and a live cockpit-to-ground listening channel.
Custom blankets, pillows, plush duvets, and mattress toppers will be available. So too will spacious lavatories appointed with ETRO amenities.
While erroneous reports have circulated in the media that trip prices will start around $50,000, Crystal tells Jet Set that no prices have yet been set for this epic experience.
