Emotional, surprising and funny is how I describe episode two. My two female clients, Laura and Kim, have very strong personalities and they mean business in this episode. It was a total shock when Laura accepted that offer over the phone for $3,000,000! I feel like the scene was so much bigger in real life then it actually played out on television. Heather and I were ecstatic; we even did a little dance in the office. I was happy for Laura because she really wanted to be done with the “for sale” process.
Can we talk about my assistant, Heather, in this episode. She looked so beautiful in her heels with her sexy self.
Then we have Kim and her recently finished remodel, which took so much time, we saw the market come and go. Kim’s timing was tough because she completed the home smack dab in the middle of what I call the “frozen period” of real estate. She was in such denial and there was nothing I could say or do to have her see it any other way, but her home was simply not worth what she wanted. She even called her numerologist in a futile attempt to convince someone, anyone but me, that her home was worth three million dollars. That is one of the most frustrating things about this market; some clients refuse to accept the reality. You saw me tell her point blank with a stack of comparables in my hand. Most of the time I end up watching their home’s value slip away with time. It is unfortunate.
Enough business chatter…let’s get on with the story about Josh’s client asking for the tenant’s girlfriend in exchange for his house. Easy tiger, seriously, just the one request was prodding the boundaries of “creepy," but with three attempts you certainly qualify as desperate and weird. But it makes great television - without that scene, it would have been boring, right?
Madison, I have the HUGEST CRUSH on you!!! EVER! And yes I'm a guy! I'm moving to LA in January if your single and you like 25yo slim goodlooking guys then we should meet up!!! Haha. :)
MADISON YOU ARE A DOLL. YOU HAVE CLASS, BRAINS AND RESPECT FOR YOUR CLIENTS AND OTHER REALTORS. I WATCH THE SHOW JUST FOR YOU. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND DON'T CHANGE.
Why didn't you advise Laura to further negotiate the price of her house? She may have been tired of the process but as her broker you should have advised her to take a deep breath and push the price north, no? Suggestion: Readd and/or memorize Donald Trumps "The Art of the Deal", I'm sure Donald would aggree with my opinion of how this should have been handled.
Madison,
Your honesty in both your professional and personal lives is totally refreshing. You tell it like it is with no holds barred.
I work in the escrow end of the business in L.A., so in some small way, so I have "some" understanding what's going on in the market. I think that you are a wonderful agent, who cares about his clients...keep up the good work!
Madison,
First of all, that was great show and great insightful blog entry. You really deserve recognition for the professional, sophisticated (yet chic) demeanor and appearance that you maintain in contrast to the buffoonery, pompousness that can often be portrayed on reality shows.
In response to your blog, I am really glad that you do discuss your sexuality in the show. While it is not terribly apropos to what you do, it is part of who you are. Moreover, it really shines light on sexuality. Hopefully, more individuals come to terms that maybe sexuality isn’t as dichotomous as heterosexual-homosexual. All too often individuals want you to define yourself as one or the other; both straight and gay individuals.
Again, I loved the show this week and the blog entry as well. I wish you continued success in your career.
Madison,
You are adorable. I think you are very professional and I dont think your decision to be "public" was a bad idea at all. I like to work with and be around people who are comfortable in their own skin.. and this is a "reality" show right? If you cant be yourself there.. then why do it at all?
I see alot of success in your future! xoxoxo
Why do you get 3% commission but the other boys get 2%? Is it the area? How is that determined? Beverly Hills where Josh works is at least as expensive as Malibu. No one explains that -
Madison - wasn't it your professional duty to counter that $3M with a higher bid? They offered $3M and you could have advised her "come back with $3.2" or something but you didn't. This deal seemed all wrong when we watched it played out on tv.
Madison, it's great that you are exploring your sexuality in order to find what is right for you. You said on a prior show that you feel emotionally connected with women but sexually attracted to guys. I feel the same way and am in the process of exploring/dating and trying to figure this out myself! Good luck and feel free to write me back!
My boyf and I love watching the show! You're probably the most "normal" of the guys they feature on this show... :-) You're always very professional and you know the business. Kudos to you!
I didn't see the show where you opened up about your sexuality. Actually, I just watched the show within the last week or the first time. But, I think it took guts to do so and your sexuality is your choice and nobody elses business unless you want them to know. I am sure it was a very hard decision for you to make to talk about it on national television. I respect you for that it took a lot of courage.
Madison,
Being a realtor myself for many years, I can imagine how you felt when your client said she was done and would take the $3,000,000. Although it was a surprise, when you think about it, this women is no dummy, and she was very smart in my opinion to take that 3mil in this market! She was obviously ridiculously overpriced at 4.4 and your reduction was definetly in her best interest. You did what you felt was the right thing to move that house, and she took advantage of a solid, big fat 3mil, instead of waiting for the market to dip further. You deserve your commision, because you had the listing and brought her a good solid buyer! You should feel nothing but great!
A fellow realtor
My daughter and I love MDL. You are our favorite realtor! We were going crazy when you were putting the lids down at the open house. We couldn't believe how untidy everything was. We were shocked when your client took the $3,000,000. We were wondering if you will be the next to do something different with your hair. Chad and Josh seem to be under the impression that there is a correlation between their hair and the current market. I think that as far as you divulging your sexuality - that is who you are. You seem very genuine and I'm sure that is why you have been so successful in such a relatively short period. Plus, you always seem very prepared.
Madison,
You are adorable and my favorite on the show BY FAR! I think it is wonderful you decided to go public with your sexuality. You don't know how many people feel the same way as you do, yet are afriad to admit it. By outing yourself, you just validated their feelings and also let them know that people who are sexually fluid (which, I believe all people are), can be successful in both life and love. Kudos to you and everything you have accomplished.
I love you on the show Madison! You are amazing and love your style! I dont like your client Laura though, its wise to take Heather with you on meetings with women like that. LOL!
I agree, Josh's creepy client was waaaaay out of line.
Madison, Im pretty much in love with you. You are by far the best realtor on this show. You have very little drama and not to much negative things to say about the others, but when you do its all true. You get the job done with that cute smile on your face. Your the reason i watch this show. Best of luck to you.
My God, if there is a more beautiful man in the world,, he is hiding. But what makes you beautiful is that you truly love what you are doing. I cannot even imagine you in a situation like that train wreck Josh created. I thought he was fun up to that point. Whether the commission was 3k or 300k, he lost all credibilty when he allowed that to continue. Continued success, but that is a given.
Madison, I stumbled across the show this season and became an instant Madison fan. Great sense of style, great rapport with clients, and respect for his profession. And, of course, a million dollar smile. The polyamorous aspect of your personality only makes you more interesting as an individual. Best wishes for your continued success.
madison, you are the reason i watch the show. i have a list of hotties (yummy men): 1. my husband 2. brad pitt 3. enrique iglesias 4. you. and there is no #5.... there is something about you that is very attractive. i think most people will agree with me when i say that you are confident without being over the top. there is an air about you, that draws people towards you (its calm)... coming out with your sexuality was very personal, people should not judge (or comment). we are all equal, we are all beautiful, we are all human.
Madison you are the classiest cat on the market. Love your comments about Josh's tiger situation. I mean, I think he really should have said something AND the woman just sat there with a dumb look on her face. I would have been dragging my man out the door the first time he said it. I don't give a patootie about your sexuality becaue I am old enough to be your Mom, but you are ADORABLE.
Hmmm...If you have ever watched the show...this shouldn't be any big surprise...but, good for you to share who you are with the rest of America.
You are my favorite. Not only my favorite, but you are so cute compared to the other two. I'm a mother of a 26 yr old cute daughter. Wish you two could meet.
Madison, you are by far my favorite star on bravo, you know how to keep the drama to a minimum and you just keep pushing through and make things work! Not to mention the fact that you dress extremley well and are amazingly handsome
Madison! All 3 of you guys are fascinating to watch. All of you are good thinkers, each in your own particular way, and it's interesting to see how the dynamics all play out with each deal. You shed so much light on how intense your work is (even in a good market) and you, Madison, remain professional, elegant and classy in spite of it all. All of you guys have a certain cachet that is very attractive and I just love watching this show!
A couple questions: Would you please come down to Newport and teach the guys I work for how to dress?! Second, what's the deal with your two BMW 7 Series? One white AND one black? Lucky you!
Million Dollar Listing adds the class to Bravo TV that it so very much needs - especially after Bravo aired its interminable (and intolerable) Atlanta Housewives (would someone PLEASE cancel that show?!)
Anyway - continued great success to you, Madison!
Madison ~
I am entrepreneur and am involved in several of my own businesses with one of them often including real estate. As I watch the show, I am impressed with your candor as well as your ability to maintain a certain level of respect for your clients and especially among your cast members. I doubt the show would have been picked up if they did not intend on having some drama, but you seem to be able to navigate it more effectively than the others.
As for your polyamorous...ness, I am in total agreement as to having the ability to relate and also engage in affection for both genders. I would subscribe to a monogamous version at any given time provided I am in a relationship, but certainly am open to it being able to shift from one to the other at appropriate times if the other relationship ends. I always called it "universal love" and believe that people are essentially looking for love in the end and if we are open, this view is very liberating and allows for great acceptance of anybody's love. I grew up feeling that most people, if given a true open society, would embrace some level of feelings for their own gender as well as the opposite gender.
Your sexuality is not relevant to your ability to sell real estate but it is relevant to people who want to know you for who you truly are. I am certain that it adds intrigue to the show, but it also validates the feelings that many of us have had our entire lives. You put a human face on sexuality that is more liberated or even a more vibrant color. You showcase the uninhibited potential for love and not just a love that must always fall into the landscape of an often black or white society. This can only be a good thing to humanity as a whole, but you just happen to be the one with the platform to enlighten the masses.
What do you think?
Dennis
If I were you I'd be poly-amorous too. Plus you have the guts to admit it which is great. I just wish on that real estate offer you'd coached your client to make a counter offer and not just accept that 3million even if she did sound sick of the whole thing. Sometimes I think you're a bit too sensitive for your clients which can, ironically enough, come out as being insensitive. Having the looks and style you have is great, but carry it over a bit more when necessary.
You are so cool, compared to the others, If I had my choice to HANG with one of you 3, I'd pick you.
But, the show has gotten boring.....What kills me is they put up a big tease.....like Chad screaming OH MY GOD, THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING! Then, when it is shown.....he has only spilled a bowl of cereal on the floor. Come on Bravo, stop turning nothing into something.
Your cute my brothers also gay-Kills me the way these mothers want to fix you up with there daughters.LOL Good Show/Keep it up.
I just wanted to let you know, you are a class act in your business. That guy,?, Chad with the black hair. You are right. you do not talk about other realtors, stay away from that guy, their is something wrong with him. I own businesses, and i do realestate. You are very smart for your age. Keep up the good work. I do not get to watch tv alot, but i like to watch your show. Josh Flag is a good guy. But all good things to you. and you are sexey. And you are a good person.

your just hot! love your self cause i know we all do.
