I'm Gay ... Who Cares?

Madison talks about coming out on TV!

Dec 1, 2009

Polyamorous - well, maybe in the future, but for now I am feeling gay. Haha - pun intended. When I was asked to participate in the NOH8 Campaign it inevitably made me reflect on myself, my sexuality, and my business. Ultimately, my business and personal life are commingled, but I am at choice to reveal certain depths of myself. This episode I decided to come all out. It is a beautiful thing. It feels good and I feel fortunate to have the television program as an opportunity to reveal natural emotions and feelings. I think it it can help others who feel stuck or afraid to be more courageous and engage their feelings.

Among other things, my clients in this episode are the best. They have such a tight bond for each other and such a love for their property; they are real. I appreciate them and feel bad for their situation, but feel good that I am doing my job by providing them with the tools to make the best decision. We have to wait until the next episode to see what that means.

Of course, we must discuss Chad and his listing at the "W." Actually, rather than spend more energy on it, I think I will just refer back to the show as I said everything I felt in this episode. The viewers undoubtedly sense the truth. I will leave it at that.

Love you Madison - no matter who you are attracted too and I commend you for standing up for who you are on the show.

Good for you! I'm glad you chose being true to yourself and your beliefs even though you were concerned about how it would effect your business life. It took courage and I'm sure you'll find that you made the best choice for the long run.

xx

You are adorable and our house favorite! I would have to imagine that your future will be even better!

It is nice to see that you are true to yourself. Keep that energy going.

I think you should never comment on ur sexual choice. It`s more mysterious to keep um guessing and wondering. Why is it that it`s so hip for women to be BI but not guys. I am not into it myself but now more than ever, the prettier the women I meet the more of them are telling me they are BI.It may well be a thing of the future who knows and you are just ahead of every one. ciao,

It is attractive when you are authentic and transparent. Only good things can happen by being your true self and more wonderful things will come your way.

Congratulations, you are by far my favorite. You handle yourself so well, with so much poise and class. Now if I can only get myself to stop calling my dog Starla, it is confusing him!

Gay, Straight, Bi... No one should care as long as you are happy! I bet this episode and the NOH8 campaign have been a 'freeing' experience.

Good luck with your new book.

If Chad thinks he is keeping it real, he needs to watch the show. You are the only real one on the show and I never get the impression that you would do or say anything for a listing or sale.

I hope your outing does not back fire on your career. Most of your clients arn't gay, and some might take it as you being too soft to sell their houses.

Bravo! You are very bold and what you have done is to be commended. I felt proud that you came out.

Wow... I was so happy when you took the world that you are gay. It takes a lot of courage and I applaud you for it. I'll always be a fan and carry the utmost respect for you.

~YOU are YOU...that's what is important..those who do not "accept" would only be "toxic" in your life..ENJOY each and every minute of your life & CELEBRATE~

Madison coming out is not an easy thing, you are a strong person, I'm proud of you!

Madison,

How lucky for the gay community to have such a great role model. If your clients have a problem with you being gay, then you wouldn't want them. You are a great, honest, funny person, gay or straight. Who Cares?

Love the show! Sad that next week is the finale.

Going to Barnes and Noble to get your book!!

Regardless of your sexual orientation, I admired your committment to the NO H8 campaign. Who cares is a great title to the blog!!

Looking at your beautiful malibu listings, it is amazing that someone would spend $5 million on a property that will never hold its market value. In 5 years, the hotel will probably be torn down or worn out, and the owners will get 1/2 the market value. I would much rather live in one of the homes you showed on last nights episode!!

Keep up all the good work. I think it was good to do the HOH8 adds. Thanks for helping out all of us.

Eric

I care! I don't usually comment to my tv shows, but I have to say, Madison, that my respect for you doubled when you came out! Yes, it is your personal life and business, but your gayness was oozing out - a la Ellen, and some of us have been around the gay block for years. It can be hard to see someone who is likely gay and not coming to full terms with it. In a way, it felt like you were lying about it to some degree on the show - probably to yourself. It is great for the community to see you come clean and out, and I am very happy for the joy, liberation and freedom you must feel in "claiming" not "a new identity" but YOUR identity. Cheers!

Madison you are a very kool and business orientated person. I love the way you don't let drama get the best of you. You will go far being the way you are and from what I see that a good guy. Stay true to yourself and no matter what good things will always come your way.

Madison congrats on such a courageous decision and what better way to show it than with the NOH8 campaign!

Being a business owner you never know how your clients are going to react but we need more positive role models out there showing that hard work and determination will pay off!

You are fierce and fabulous and when I am ready to buy a house in Malibu you will be the first I call!

I was very proud to see you come out on last night's episode - your courage and honesty are admirable and very refreshing! Its so crystal clear from the show that you are a very talented real estate agent and work extremely hard for your clients. That is what is most important and is why people will continue to hire you. I wish you the best of luck and congratulations on coming out - it was wonderful to see, I think the viewers all breathed a collective sigh of relief when it happened:)

Way to go Madison -in these challenging times we all need to simplify our lives and look inward. This journey has brought you to this place and I applaud your honesty and by supporting the NO H8 Campaign, you are living your commitment to your newly realized truth. All the best to you on this new phase of your life

Madison, Congrats!

You're the best on the show.

Chad needs to grow up and get a life or he'll lose Victoria.

You can't possibly think that the audience thought you were straight..... Congrats on coming out, and don't worry about the backlash....you've been out to anyone with 1/2 a brain.

Madison when i look at you I see a smart funny strong business man who happens to be gay. Thank you for taking the drama out of being Gay. There is more to you then who you sleep with and I think you get that. Good Luck, Walk tall, and live in peace my friend.

Good for you Madison. I think Chad could use some mentoring from you...he really thinks he has it all together, not so much. Now you on the other hand, are all about real ! Throughout the show it comes across that you are genuinely yourself, you have class and respect for others. I enjoy watching you each week.

I am sure many girls will be upset that you are out of our dating market)))

I have always liked all 3 of you for your differences. Your friend at W did somewhat lead Chad to believe you might have been disappointed that HE got the listing there. I believe in talking with you, he was only trying to clear the air because, as he said, he really likes and maybe even admires you. Josh is not funny or clever in any way at all. I'm disappointed that you find him as such.

"Who Cares?",,well,,,I guess ur right,,it really is no one but ur own business. I really don't care either. However, U did sign up for a reality show, u did become a celebrity of sorts as a result of that & u do hv a great opportunity to use that celebrity for a positive cause. NOH8 is a good start, but probably most importantly, middle america seeing u as a gay man & an example of what the majority of gay men are, normal people dealing with normal day to day issues. Well,,,normal-ish,,,

Loved your "Chadder" line. Oh, yeah, and bravo for coming out.

Congratulations Madison! I started watching Million Dollar Listing for the ridiculous antics of Chaddycakes, but Josh seeing the concentration camp with his grandmother and your coming out have been very compelling. You seem to have the kind of positive and genuine spirit that brings out the best in people. I can imagine a lot of straight girls will be disappointed, haha. Best of luck!

Madison: You are a cutey-patooty. . .gay, straight, polyamorous. . .we don't care. I love that you always take the high road.

You have by far the most class on this show. You made me soo proud that you did the NOH8 ad, and I only wish you the very best of life!

You are such a doll. Good for you for going "all out". Pun intended. A decent and sincere person like you is hard to come by... and quite refreshing on TV! Josh is a hoot too. I hope you both decide to continue with the series, if even for one more season? Hopefully by then the market will be on the upswing?

xoxoxox

Damn, another great guy that's gay! Figures. All the good ones are gay. Anyway, love all three of you, you all have very different personalities, but are truly likeable. Love the show, love the "cast". Keep this show going please!!!

Kudos to you Madison. One must always be themself. You could sell me a house whatever you are

That's great for you. There's nothing like living your life the fullest. You are my favorite in the show because you're down to earth and care truly for your clients.

MADISON WHICH EVER WAY YOU GO,,I LOVE YOU ....YOU ARE SO SWEET AND NICE..RATHER IT IS MEN ARE WOMEN YOUR STILL GREAT..

Madison, you have no idea how proud of you I became last night while watching you come full circle with your true self. It is one of the most liberating moments in your life and we hope that you continue to do good with it. Watching you step up and do the photoshoot was a major step forward in bringing awareness to the fact that our sexuality has nothing to do with who we are as a person. Thank you for letting us the viewers participate in one of your most personal moments and one that as a gay man myself can say to be proud of.

I don't think you should worry about your clients being homophobic. If they are, oh well -- you're in LA and I am sure for any client you will lose, there are multitudes of people who will pick you up. Anyway, you already said a few weeks ago that you could only be sexually satisfied by a man so I was a little surprised at the big deal made about your "coming out."

But you're a sweetie! I can imagine it is hard for you to do something that you feel like is going to rock the boat. Good luck!

Madison! We are so proud of you! Welcome! My partner and I have been together for alomst 30 years! Yes, I said 30. You have so many wonderful years ahead of you living as a open gay man! Congratulations sister! (:

madison, ur the best...chad way too insecure...josh is a little cocky...but u are just perfect...

You will be surprised at how little your potential clients care about your sexuality. In fact, it may help in some backwards way. Not to worry.

Madison Hilddbrand gay? You've GOT to be kidding! (he said sarcastically) Omg I'm glad you've finally figured it out. I've known you were gay since about the second episode. I think it's excellent that the gay real estate agent is the one who quietly gets the great listings and just calmly sells the property, banking his commissions and running circles around the other two. You go Madison! And, Congrats on coming out and the NOH8 work. Love you, dude!

Madison, thanks for coming out and being yourself. Also thanks for taking the high road where Chad and Josh are concerned. Josh needs to quit worrying about showing off his Grandmother and Chad needs to quit worring about his dog and just be single, afterall he is married to his job. You make it look easy.

Dear Madison,

You are the best!! You did a very very brave thing to come out on this last show. Also, I admire the hell out of you for taking a risk and doing the campaign shoot as well. I wish you a lot of luck in this crappy market. But you will be just fine. You are honest and very committed to your clients and that is what counts.

Madison, You are adorable, smart, cute and I love the way you handle Chad! You have and will always come out on top!

A person is a person no matter how grand
