The Wow Factor

Josh dishes on private plans and Madison's jealousy.

By Josh Altman

Real Estate is a 24/7 job. If you want to be at the top of the game, no matter what business you're in, you have to dedicate yourself to being the best. I'm always on.

Weekends for me are a time to catch up on work and show properties to all my clients that can't get away Monday through Friday. I have a thirst for real estate, and although Mikey hates the hours, he's got to work just as hard as I do too.

Even though I've picked up many clients showing up on private jets before, seeing it never loses the wow factor. It's the ultimate in luxury. When dealing with the super rich, time is money. That goes for showing houses too, even when it's something personal like a home, it's still business. Their time is valuable, and if they don't want to see a house, then you just have to move on like Evan did in the Mulholland house.

That 4 am phone call was not the first time that's happened to me and will definitely not be the last. I have so many overseas buyers, and you have to be available for them, no matter what the time difference is. My clients are my first priority, and sometimes calls in the middle of the night are just par for the course.

A good tip for everyone, good food at open houses always gets the local realtors attention. Just ask Josh Flagg... At least he got his money's worth on that food. I felt for Josh when that buyer didn't show up for the showing and he drove all the way out to the listing. Happens to all of us, but you can't always rely on gimmicks, you've got to have something to back it up.

As you can see, Heather and I have been hanging out more and more. We'll see what happens as time goes on... It's starting to seem like Madison is really insecure when it comes to Heather. He acts more like her baby brother who's trying to control her but obviously can't. It's kind of sad when you think about it. Maybe he should spend more time on his real estate deals than worrying about our personal relationship. Maybe I can give him some of my extra listings to spend his time on, rather than him stressing over what his assistant and I doing after hours.

That's all for now. Follow me on twitter @thejoshaltman. Friend me on Facebook, and you can see all my current listings on my website www.thealtmanbrothers.com.
