Surface-Level Fun

Glenn enjoyed himself at the pool party, even if there wasn't a whole lot of deep conversation.

This episode was a little hard for me to watch but very interesting in a sense. My relationship with Rebecca was one that was long distance for its entirety. That being said, we were probably closer than a lot of couples that live with each other are. We would usually go about a month or so without seeing each other, and then either I would go to visit her for in Northern California or she would come visit me wherever I was living at the time. Honestly she came to see me when I lived in Michigan, Nashville, Lubbock (trained there for a couple months), Austin, New Orleans, Amsterdam (we also visited Paris while she was there), Chicago, San Diego, and now most recently Dallas. Some of those places she came to several times. She was a traveling trooper, and I will always love her for that.

I was bummed out when I had to take her back to the airport in Dallas, but it was nice to know eventually I would have to report back to Oakland and would get to see her and hangout at her great spot in San Francisco. Other times weren't so easy taking her back to the airport or having her drop me off after visiting when we weren't together, because we didn't know if and when another visit would ever come. Like I said though, this time I was bummed, but at least knew I would be in her city soon and hanging out.

So on to the pool party. What you witnessed is about how those parties usually are, a bunch of people wearing next to nothing and drinking. Not a whole lot of deep conversing going on! You just have to take it for what it is, know that this is all just surface level fun, and not to expect a whole lot from the day. I had fun though because I had some buddies in town that weekend and it was nice catching up with them also.

I am so proud of Matt and the Leadership Gala. For him to be able to find a way to pull off that amazing of an evening in such little time speaks volumes about him, how hard he works, and what he can do when he puts his mind to something. What a wonderful night it turned out to be!

I Left My Heart in San Francisco

Glenn may be sad about leaving Dallas, but he's looking forward to spending time with Rebecca.

Since this is the last episode, I am pretty bummed out! I am heading to Oakland, CA. Although I am going to miss all my friends here in Dallas, it's time for me to get back to work and start training for the football season coming up. Not to mention the fact that Rebecca lives in San Francisco and I will be able to hang out with her in such an amazing city (the same city where we first met).

It was fun getting Matt back out on the football field and having him throw the ball around with me and my buddy Brett (who is actually the punter now for the Houston Texans). I have known Brett for about eight years now and consider him the little brother that I always wanted.

It was hard for me at dinner to tell everyone that I was leaving. I didn't really know where to start, so I just came out and said it. I think I caught everyone by surprise, but they all knew eventually I was going to have to head back out there. They just didn't know when. I'm going to miss them while I am gone!

Neill's concert was a blast! She has such a catchy and pretty voice to say the least! It was definitely a good way to send me off, having everyone there and enjoying each other's company. I really hope this isn't the last time I talk with you guys. I enjoyed writing these blogs each week and hearing your responses.
