Tara thinks dating is a crap shoot (and this week the odds of a good date were against her).

Let's face it -- dating is a crapshoot! I'm sure all single women will agree that on the topic of dating, you just never know what you're going to get. But I'm always willing to roll the dice and take my chances and here's a quick pre-date checklist:
Mutual attraction: check Compatibility (at least "on paper"): check Common interests: check
So with the checklist items crossed off, it has to be a fantastic and wonderful date, right? WRONG! But why? Let's take a look at the three dates from tonight's episode, shall we?
I love both of these people, and I was so excited to see them finally go on a date; and it was so beautiful with a perfect location and wonderful people. Note to Glenn: if you want more than a high five after a date, you may want to show your abs…I'm just throwing out a suggestion, that's all.
Tara... you seem to have such a big heart; you are sound in your priorities for your loved ones and your animals, how about you put yourself first by not wanting to be some asshole's arm candy? I think you need a regular guy, a fella that doesn't come from the same REALM as you to really appreciate you... you need a house husband, my dear. Just a down to earth guy... closer to your age than the typical age of men seeking viagara, lol. Maybe a make-under, too??? For being such a young woman, somehow it's difficult to tell on tv if you're 35-50. (???) I think you're 29, aren't you? You're a lovely lady... I hope I'm not being too harsh, and really, in person, I wouldn't be so rude as to give it. But hey, I can hide behind the internet as a quiet passer-by. ;)
Tara Tara Tara!! I must repeat what a previous post said. You need to look in the mirror more often and truly see yourself and what a warm beautiful lady you are inside as well as out.
Please girl!! Go to some illumni events and you will meet much better men than the two on the show. Agreed that Jodi seemed sweet "as a friend". You are so out of his league. He wouldn't know what to do with you if he had you!! Then the abuse you would surely get from his jealous ex-wives and possibly children are something to seriously consider.
My jaw was on the floor seeing you go from one bad date to the date from H-E-Double hockey sticks!! This is all Dallas has to offer as far as men go? Speaking of your other three castmates as well. (sorry guys) Its slim pickings in that city. Spend a month in Chicago and you will have more dates with prominent men with midwestern values than can fit in your blackberry. Don't count a midwestern man out because you are misled by so called southern values. My Grandparents came from the south and southern men are some of the biggest players out there. Sure they have the wife at home that usually looks the other way as well as one or two on the side. You are too beautiful for that BS. Love & Luck xoxo
I am going to use a little of Matt's technique for a moment...when I first saw you I thought "here we go, the proverbial blonde bimbo" but what a surprise!! I love it!! You are beautiful and smart! Not only that you value yourself and your morals!!
That guy, OMG!!! Really? I mean really? He better have deep pockets (and I don't even know if that will help him) because after seeing that...his dating life is kaput!! It will amaze me if he ever gets a date again! What a jackeass!!
my dear I have watched you and you remind me of the heart that my mother and I have of taking care of animals and we have the same darn problem..trying to find mr. right with matters but finding what the hell and you dont deserve no dtf. I use to go out, even have guy friends of 5 years or so and they figured if they took me out to dinner and we are both single go to his jacuzzi was the best idea, so far I am breaking relationships with guys that cant handle me as a pretty lady and my mom (italian cougar she is) that we just try to find friends and go from there. I am single and proud out of a stupid relationship kind of agreeing with Matt why not take it one day at a time, girls do like to hear stability but have fun with being who you are.you have health which i dont have..wealth..CONFIDENCE and i have dated older men with baggage which reminded me of your date so feels good that we are women who have to learn from mistakes even if you have all that we are equals.love you god bless for helping the animals ....my mom does that too ...pammy
Tara - you are beautiful, smart and have a lot to offer. Like I used to, you just have bad taste left to your own choices. Try looking at someone who you don't consider "your type" for a change. I'm not suggesting dating someone you're repulsed by, just someone you might not ordinarily gravitate towards. The first time I did, I met my husband and knew almost instantly that he was my forever person... Weird ? Yes, and totally frustrating but it works. Don't head back to Jody. He may be nice but he's too old, too awkward and who wants to travel around with all that baggage. Let him go!
You are so cute. How did you sit there with that man? I can't believe you stayed. After going on national TV, anyone women who is watching your show will definately not say YES to him.
The good thing is you are out there. I am sure your mother has also told you this but you have to go through many frogs before you find Prince Charming.
Tara, You are a good person and deserve sooooooooo much more. That
guy was repulsive, who does he think he is? Glenn, or Matt...oh no not
nearly.Lol. The older guy with the 3 ex wives and 4 kids or was it.....
never mind. He is carrying a steamer trunk...way too much baggage.
Keep looking you will find your soul mate. He is not there yet.
Has no one close to you told you that you are a smoking hot girl?! What are you doing dating these losers? Move if that is all Dallas has to offer! Who takes a hot girl bowling? Boring and unimaginative....nothing has to be said about the other one...I would have taken a cab/car home!
Tara is correct in that it's a real crap shoot as to finding the "right" person to build a long term relationship with. Yep, we all seem to have a checklist of 'requirements'. What is compatibility? God, I hate to even think about it. It's so difficult to quantify. Common Interests? Well, this is something that is easy to sort out... but, does it really matter? I think the people in the relationship have to respect the other's interests... but, I'm not convinced that they have to necessarily 'share' those interests. Being just alike doesn't always make for the best of situations. Dating can be fun whether it's with someone that's marriage/relationship material or not. Some people focus so much on whether their prospective date fits their pie chart that they miss out on meeting people that they might not have otherwise realized were interesting and/or exciting. I believe that at the beginning... things should simply be fun and entertaining without the pressure or concern as to whether the other person might be a potential 'mate' or relationship 'partner'. I have girl friends that I date that I would never consider marrying. Nor would they consider marrying me in many instances. But, that doesn't mean we don't get along... that, we don't have fun together. The age spectrum of my dates range from 20 to 50. Some are professionals, some are hair/nail stylists, some run their own businesses. The only thing that seems constant is that they are almost always blonde !! :) Keep in mind that Trust, Honesty, Loyalty, and Respect are the cornerstones of a successful relationship... whether it be professional or of a romantic nature. With out the cornerstones... the relationship will never workout.
