Jewel Welcomes Son Kase Townes

Mazel, Murray family! Yesterday at 7 p.m. CST, Platinum Hit host Jewel and her rodeo star hubby Ty Murray welcomed their first child, a 7-pound, 6-ounce bouncing baby boy.

"Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy Kase Townes Murray into the world! We are over come with happiness - it really is as great as everyone told us it would be- better even!" the couple wrote on Jewel's website.

Before officially becoming a new mommy, a calm and collected Jewel tweeted about ending her pregnancy on an easy-going note, "Had a great day relaxing by the lake- even kind of cool in the shade... tired now- talk tomorrow tweets!" she told her almost 159,000 followers. Kara Dioguardi's partner in judging crime even tweeted pal Lisa Rinna yesterday, "Happy Birthday- glad you are having a good one!" before bringing another July 11 baby into the world.

When the couple, who've been married for three years, take Kase home to his Stephenville, TX ranch, he'll receive an extra sweet present from his Grammy-nominated mama. This August, Jewel's releasing her second children's album on iTunes titled The Merry Goes 'Round – but she won't be making the rounds to promote it. "I don't know how I'm going to juggle it all, and I want to be able to figure it out without pressure of like, 'I have a tour booked in two months!'" the songstress told Perez Hilton recently. "I'm doing things that I can hopefully work from home more, like make my records here."
