Bethenny Reunites with a Fiery Old Friend

A trip to The View brings her back to the kitchen with Dennis Leary.

"It was the best job I ever had!"

Surely Bethenny Frankel was telling her panel mates on The View about her stint as the star of Bethenny Ever After, Bethenny Getting Married or the first seasons of The Real Housewives of New York City? Or maybe she was thinking back to her reality TV debut on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart? Or last year's Skating with the Stars? Or as entrepreneur extraordinaire and ruler of her SkinnyGirl empire?

Nope.

Bethenny told Viewers that the highlight of her whole career came seven years ago when she slaved over a hot stove in a cramped motor home cooking for a foul mouthed Irishmen and a crew of frisky firemen and hockey players. "I used to cook for him in his trailer," the View's guest co-host exclaimed after Rescue Me star Dennis Leary greeted her with a big hug. Cooking for Leary and his castmates, crew and fire fighter and hockey player friends during his show's first season in 2004 "was the most fun — laughing all day and cooking for him, the firemen, the Boston Bruin hockey people."

How did Leary rate her kitchen skills? "She was fantastic!" he said. But when he suggested that she pay him back for helping launch her career in show business by cutting him in on a share of her earnings from the sale of her SkinnyGirl cocktails line to Fortune Brands last April (a deal that Forbes reported was worth $100 million), she didn't bite. "Why?" she said. "All you did was eat broccoli raab."
