Bethenny: Step Away from the Comfort Food

Freeze, and drop the pint of rocky road.

By Lauren Metz

Eat this up: Bethenny Frankel is busting the myth that chocolate (and lots and lots of it) can cure a bad mood. "The trick is to calm yourself down before you hit the cookie jar," B writes on her website about breaking the food bank when you're feeling bummed. Any guilty parties out there?

Instead, the Bethenny Ever After star suggests moving forward... or at least just moving. "When you start to feel depressed or worried, do something. Take a bath, do a series of yoga stretches, go for a walk or simply call a friend (instead of dwelling alone) and talk about your troubles," she says. "Getting wound up makes some people shovel in junk food without thinking. Giving yourself alternative activities that make you feel centered and relaxed will help prevent a binge."

Sounds like Bethenny may need a find-my-inner-zen night of her own. "My daughter just pooped twice on my newly cleaned carpet bc jason thought she was cute naked. how's your night?" tweeted Bryn's mama and maid.

Do you agree with Bethenny's advice? Is exercise more gratifying than comfort foods and sweets at the end of a crappy day? Start a Tweet Battle, and make your case.
