The Housewives React to Their Awards Nominations

Joanna, Porsha, Ramona and others on getting recognized for the Real Housewives Awards.

By Hilary Hughes

Admit it: you've wanted to hand a prize or two over to your favorite Housewives for various reasons. Now you'll have your chance with our first-annual Real Housewives Awards.

But how to the nominees feel about the awards themselves? A handful of Housewives—from Beverly Hills to the Big Apple—shared their thoughts with E! News about the categories.

Joanna Krupa is thrilled that her wedding dress was nominated for Most Memorable Outfit.

"My wedding was everything that I dreamt of as a little girl and more—it was inspired by Stephanie Seymour in the 'November Rain' video," she says. "I wanted my dress to be non-traditional and go down in history as the most original wedding dress ever. I am honored Bravo included me in their awards as my dress meant everything to me."

Melissa Gorga is competing against Kyle Richards, Cynthia Bailey, Aviva Drescher, Alexis Bellino and Joyce Giraud in the Loveliest Locks category, but she's pumped to be even nominated—and she's got some fiercely flowing competition!

"Nothing can come between a Housewife and her hair!" she says. "There is some major competition in this category, but I'm excited to be nominated and of course my hairstylist is thrilled!"

Newcomers to all the Housewives franchises are being honored their own category too: Rookie of the Year. And Porsha Stewart (competing with Aviva, Carlton Gebbia, Carole Radziwill, Kenya Moore, Heather Thomson, Lydia McLaughlin, Joyce Giraud) hinted that she has what it takes to win. "It's always tough being the new kid on the block, but I think I did a good job holding my own," she says.

The most hilarious category may be Favorite Quote and Ramona Singer is laughing all the way to the ballot box: she's nominated for telling Aviva to "Calm down, take a Xanax!" "So many people have tweeted me to tell me how much they love that expression and have actually started using it themselves!" she says. "Maybe it will even go in the urban dictionary like Turtle Time did. Turtle Time, of course, means drinking Pinot Grigio, having fun with your friends and dancing!"

Even Caroline Manzo, who is no longer a Housewife, is getting into the action. She tweeted:

Vicki Gunvalson, meanwhile, acknowledged her nominations in four categories with one succinct phrase: "Woo Hoo!"

Congrats, ladies, and we're looking forward to voting! What do you think of the Housewives Awards nominees? Let us know in the comments.
