Tom Sandoval Shares His Wedding Style Tips

Find out how to look just as good as the bride on your big day.

By Jordan Upmalis

Everyone knows a bride's wedding day is one of the most important days of her life, and one that she deserves to look and feel absolutely fabulous. And if Tom Sandoval has anything to do with it, grooms will be following suit. Literally.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

Teaming up with Pop Dust, every Thursday Tom will be sharing his impeccable men's fashion, grooming and lifestyle tips; and first on the agenda is his take on tuxedos.

"I feel like when people get married, the bride is usually showcased in a stunning custom wedding gown, while the groom is stuck wearing a boring and baggy, ill-fitted, rental tux," he explains.

He refused to let that happen to his good friend Shay when he married fellow SURver Scheana, and took things into his own hands by offering to buy Shay his tuxedo jacket for the big day. "I feel that the groom's appearance is just as important as the bride's, and wanted to showcase Shay too. The groom deserves to look just as amazing as the bride," he says. "Well, at least as close as he can."

After deterring Shay from the original plan of a white tux with tails and high tops (which scream "old school" and "super '80s"), Tom finally found the one—"an amazing white, classic yet current, Hugo Boss tuxedo jacket with a black, rounded Shawl lapel."

But finding and buying the perfect jacket is only half the battle. Tailoring is essential, Tom insists, and really emphasizes other important accessories. "There's nothing like showcasing those fancy cufflinks on your French cuffed shirt when you bend your arm to sip your champagne or martini." Cheers to that!

Aside from looking and feeling fancy, tailoring can also save you a decent amount of dough. Tom shared a personal story of buying a used pants and jacket that fit in some areas and not others, but that he got sized to the T for himself.

"You don't have to spend a fortune in order to get your own custom tux," he says. "Mine looked and fitted like a $1,000 suit, but cost less than the average rental—which is around $200. I not only saved money, but I now had a tuxedo that fit perfectly."
