Flowing, Fierce, and Frizz-Free

Kim Vo elaborates on what the judges were looking for in this challenge, and why Adee went home.

Bravotv.com: For the Elimination, what were the judges looking for with the hair?
Thick dark hair needs movement and shine. We were simply looking for gorgeous hair! Flowing, fierce, and frizz-free.

Bravov.com: Brian really rocked it this whole episode — what did he start doing right?
He finally started to get that it was a competition. It always takes a few challenges for them to get their rhythm as a stylist.

Bravotv.com: What was it like having Tabatha as a guest judge? Do you watch Tabatha’s Salon Takeover?
I love Tabatha as a friend and as a professional. I always watch her show and, I think it’s great that hair schools are using it for educational purposes.

Bravotv.com: Tabs and Brig got into it over the idea that Brig gave up. What was your take on that?
There are trigger phrases to a stylist. Giving up is one of them! “Fighting Meow!”

Bravotv.com: Adee got dealt a bunch of bad hands, but what do you think ultimately sent him home?

He quoted it best: “You have to shoot if you want the stars.” He didn’t give it his all. I know he had more in him that we didn’t get the opportunity to see.

Bravotv.com: How much do you try to budge a client into something different than what they want? What was your worst experience where a client wouldn’t budge?
Sometimes as a stylist you have to talk your client into things that you know would be great for them. I always have to talk the client out of falling off the blonderexic cliff.

Bravotv.com: How was the wedding experience?!
This was my first Indian wedding. It was so special to have them share their personal life with us and to experience their culture
