Taylor’s party was fun in a very awkward way. Kelli and I didn’t know anyone there so at the beginning the conversation was a little halted. But it got less awkward when Kelli and I started to get to know Taylor and her friends, and when we (meaning I) started talking a lot (meaning non-stop). If you haven’t noticed, I’m not exactly the shy wallflower type, and Taylor was 100% correct when she said that I’m talkative.
When Kelli and I met PC it was blatantly obviously that he wasn’t the shy type either. To repeat, it really does take a lot of courage to do a double cheek kiss. LOL. We didn’t really get to talk to PC though, because Jessie summoned him away pretty quickly. My first impression of Jessie was that she really didn’t care about Kelli or me at all, and I’m pretty sure she didn’t remember our names after we introduced ourselves. She definitely gave me the feeling that Kelli and I were just not good enough to be associated with her, and I guess I was right considering what she told PC in the car afterwards.
The dinner with PC and Kelli was quite interesting. When Kelli asked me to go to dinner with her, I didn’t realize that PC thought it was a date. Kelli and I obviously didn’t think that PC was expecting a romantic evening for two, or I would have never shown up. When Kelli and I mentioned being grounded PC immediately turned on the “I’m so much older then you because I’m a senior” attitude which was funny because I know plenty of people (older and younger) whose parents will punish them if they do something bad. After that he kept acting like he was so much older and more mature than we are, just because he’s a senior and we’re both juniors. But to be completely serious, we’re all in upper school so the difference in actual real-life maturity from one grade to the next isn’t huge. Yes he is technically older then me by a year (I’m going to be 18 in September) so the age difference isn’t that much.
Although we’d all love to think that we are “mini-adults” (and I’m guilty of thinking that many times) we are just teenagers and the most naïve thing we could say is that we aren’t naïve. No matter where you’ve traveled or whatever life experiences you’ve encountered along the way, maturity comes with time and to legitimately believe that you are eons more mature than someone because you’re a year older is a little ridiculous. But aside from PC’s comment about Kelli and me being young and ignorant, he was fun to talk to and fun to have dinner with. He just seemed as if getting a rise out of two younger girls was much more entertaining then typical dinner conversation, and he was definitely right about that.
I am confused with the statement that all prep school kids know each other even though there are dozens of elite schools. If you all know each other then why are you getting your fellow cast mates numbers each time you meet? Shouldn't you already know the other cast mates besides saying "oh that is Jessie, I have heard of her before".
what genetics firm are you going to head up right out of college?
do you study genetics?
where do they have these amazing jobs for college graduates? please let me know so i can apply! haha!
I like what you've written and couldn't agree more with choosing a school based on how it fits your personality. However please don't forget that in this day and age a college degree is the new high school diploma - a lot of us are already there and feeling the pressure to push on through grad school etc. This in turn makes me wonder, if it's all about moving to the next "Harvard" when and how the hell are you supposed to enjoy or at least take in the "Harvard" you have at any given time?
In the long run - mad props on nailing the SATS! You'll get it to where ever you want - and probably then some!
Really? I am almost speecless after watching this 'lifestyle' of these teenagers. What would you do if all of your money and all of your opportunities where whiped out? What would you do then?
Hi. Good luck on your SAT scores. I know you really want to maximize your potential and get into Harvard, or at least one of the best schools in the East Coats but just remember, life's meaning does not encompass there.
On another note, would you happen to know if PC is gay? I am one and my friends could not help chatting how we feel that PC is a closeted Gay man. Its Ok to be gay, its not like we're attracted to him, we just think he is gay.... like the Senior Vice President Executive of Bravo Network, Andy Cohen---who is also openly gay.
What do you think?
You truly need to get a grip on "realty." What about your vile comment about how your in the top 1% of New York wealth???
Camille, I really enjoyed your sense of style on the show. I think PC's comment about you and Keli being younger and imature was un called for. Keli lives on her own with her brother while her parents are in the Hamptons. PC lives with his parents. It just doesn't make anyu sense. Almost everyone has been grounded asnd gets a curfew. I think Jessie is really important to PC and to become friends with him you have to be friends with Jessie. I'm sure everything ois different now that you ha ve stopped filming. this show reminds me so much of Gossip girl only this is reality. Keep on doing what your doing! x0x0 Sydney
I must agree with the fact that you seem to act more maturely than some of the other cast, however, I find this show very laughable. I think it is interesting to see the warped sense of reality of these kids that are given everything they could ask for. It is so funny to actually here them talk like they are really doing something. What would be even more hilarious would be to let them act like the "adults" they think they are in the real world, with a limited budget. That would be worth watching!
My sister went to Harvard, everybody who applies to Harvard is super smart so the key to getting in, IMO, is to show your personality and how unique you are by the things you do outside of school. Charity work helps but if it's not something you're passionate about it's going to show that you only did it to check it off your list. I remember something being said about how they liked my sister's essay in her Harvard application - if I remember correctly it was about her experience as a waitress?? So the key to getting into harvard, I think, is not only to be smart but to show what is unique and great about your personality.
I think it's good that you put it out there on the show that you specifically are interested in Harvard. Schools want applicants who view them as their first choice. And by putting it out there on national TV you want to go there I'm sure it's going to reach the ears of somebody at Harvard.
What a rude and ignorant thing for a teacher to say about a child they would have the privelege to work with! I'm appalled by some of these comments. This is a show for entertainment, and granted it is their lives, but why watch it if your going to tear a person apart? Not setting a very good example of tolerance for your students. This show was pure entertainment and I will continue to watch and enjoy!
love how everyone on this show "goes out for drinks". last time i checked they're in high school...so by "going out for drinks" do you mean getting a coke on the rocks? this show is ridiculous.
Having grown up in Manhattan also, and a product of Private Schools, I find that if this is a true representation of today's private school kids, we're all in for a sad future.
No goals other than whom to sleep with, where to party and how much clothing you can buy is sad. The kids I grew up with in Manhattan were some of the wealthiest on the planet, yet I never once heard any of them say how wealthy they were.
These kids make for great TV, but realistic this is not.
I love watching Bravo because it is interesting to watch how people act in certain enviroments. Camille, I admire that you are mature and handle situations in a civil way. College will be a great way for you to see the world in a different light. New York is wonderful, however there is so much more to see and do. Don't get stuck in being a socialite. I love that your family is involved and passionate in your life. It is nice to have money, but don't let that run your life. Money doesn't buy you everything and don't let that turn you into a snob, because you do have so much potential. Use that to share your knowledge, but also be compassionate for others that have money or do not have money. Best of luck this season, looks like it's gonna be an interesting one! PC, you are so full of it, YOU grow up.
I enjoyed last night's show more than I expected. I think all the cast are interesting and even endearing in their own ways. Sure they come off as snotty little brats but I don't know many 16-17 year olds who aren't snotty little know it all brats, rich or poor.
All you nasty, little people posting comments! Shut up about my precious, brilliant daughter and clean my floor!!!
Oh girls, This show and your blogs just make me sad. Blogging about careers and connections at 17? Are you hearing that from your parents? And the pressure on high SAT scores and getting into the "right" college will ensure that your lives remain just as they are. Are you satisfied? Is life fun?
The show seems fun so far; I live on the UES so a lot of what's depicted just looks like "real life" to me, the street scenes, the stores, kids in their school unis, etc. Anyway, just wanted to say - if you are really focused on genetics, is Harvard your best option? I'm a little biased because I went there - but Cornell is really huge in that field. Stanford and MIT are way up there in that department too, of course. Anyway, may you get into the school that best suits you! Cheers.
I love your ambition and drive! I went to an Ivy League school, and it was a wonderful and challenging experience. You seem really smart, and I DO think you can love up to your potential. Good luck with everything!
I can see many of you peolpe have wrong, and disliking comments about these people. i also live in Upper East Side and I take these comments way to demanding and rude. i loved the show and PC is some-what, annoying, but he can be nice. Also, Sebastion (if thats how you spell his name) is really hot. But the idea of hooking up with girls mostly everyday is not a very manly like life. I really liked the show, and I'm looking forward to seeing more episodes.
Hey, I just wanted to say that I think it's really great that you have so much enthusiasm about getting a good education and going to a quality college. I'm now going into my sophomore year of high school, and I can really relate to and draw inspiration from your determination. I've also noticed how many people -I'm assuming adults- comment on how silly it is that you're talking about careers and connections at such a young age. Nuts to them!! The heavy pressure to succeed and do well in life is as real as it gets! Just keep doing what you do, because I think you're awesome.
Hey Camille I was just wondering who dies in the show? I'm going to Europe the whole summer so I won't be able to watch it. So please I am dying to know thankssss
♥Aubrey
I think you took a high risk, agreeing to come out on this reality show. Already by reading some of the comments on this blog you can tell, you have opened your life up to be scrutinized by these vicious, ignorant viewers who takes pleasures in crushing other people's realities (evenif to a teenager), as if their own miserable lives are any better.
Anyhow, I wish you all the best in your pursuits. I thought your goals were ambitious, but quite feasible. You are definitely more mature than I was when I was your age, although I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not. One thing though, don't talk about money so freely (evenif you were asked by bravo folks - as you might as well know it's very tacky to talk about money)
Ignore some of the stupid comments on your blog. Realize there are alot of jerks and losers out there, who takes pleasure in saying nasty things any chance given. Remember to show humor and compassion. I think you are a smart girl to focus on education (as "students" should be at your age). I hope you can creat great memories you can look back on and smile about rather than regret.
For everyone who commented about how "stupid" this show is with a bunch of "kids acting like adults", GET OVER IT! It's a TV show. For entertainment, obviously. Pish Posh, if you can't help watch these prepsters live their lives. Just carry on with your own.
Anyways, Good job on your SATs Camille! Hope you get accepted into your school of choice, and I'm sure you will! :)
Hi Camille, I just wanted to say that I admire your drive to get into a good college. I live in Florida, and in the small city that I live in, there aren't many prep schools. I do go to a very nice Catholic school, and I absolutely love it. I like the fact that you care so much about your education, and its admirable because i haven't been doing so well in school, and its good to know that kids my age can be nervous about having a good life too. Keep up the good work :) PS.. dont listen to the other people thinking this show is stupid. Their just jealous ;)
It feels great to be watching NYC Prep. I've always wanted to see how life really is to be living the life with money. I totally envy your lifestyle and totally wished i was born in a well off family. You've really made me realize that i need to step up my game in education and strive for the higher than the goals i already have. If i could ever meet you one day, that would be more than awsome.

Incorrectly using "then" instead of "than" really isn't going to help you in your college essays and applications!
Bravo, It is only fair to let people here know these comments are edited to only show the 'safe' and positive feedback.
The show talks about sex, alcohol, etc., but then apparently won't post 'not approving' comments. If it is inappropriate to post such posts about a show that features teenagers, isn't it also then inappropriate to be featuring such aspects of their lives?
Honestly, what a double standard. Before the other posts were pulled, they didn't seem any worse than the catty back and forth between the teenage participants that aired on TV.
Bravo, PLEASE suspend the msg boards for this particular show. These kids are too young to have to read negative feedback from viewers. It is not fair for a 16 yr old to shoulder the burden of America's criticism and rude remarks. These kids are not the housewives, please be responsible about this.
You are definitely my favorite cast member. You are nice, smart, and have amazing style. I can tell that even though you appreciate the fact that you have money (there's nothing wrong with that, who wouldn't?), you don't think you're above everyone else because of it. I wish you the best in getting into the college of your choice, whether it is Harvard or anywhere else. I can tell you have the intelligence and the drive to succeed.
Hey Camille I live in the city as well and agree with you completely. It is the type of place where children are grown up by the time they enter high school. However, how do you think the differences between uptown private schools like Spence and Trinity and downtown private schools like Friends Seminary and Grace Church manifests itself? I think they are very different dynamics. I would love to hear your thoughts!
I feel highly propelled to write a comment because I really dislike the way bravo portrayed you and your fellow friends and peers. I am really disgusted how bravo makes this show out to be like one fantasy and a real like gossip girl, well without all the outrageous plotlines but the big personalities.
I have run into many PCs in my life and I would feel annoyed too, when I was an underclassman, I totally got the "I am older, more mature and overall better than you" attitude from seniors and I didn't understand it because their actions weren't any more mature then our freshmen class. PC is a pretentious and "I don't give a flying fuck about this place" kinda guy. I think he has his own issues and a few loose screws up there because he talks about how freely it is to "hook-up" with other people and how sex is thrown around. I get the vibe from that scene with his therapist he regrets alot of his past experiences maybe and he hasn't found anyone particularly special.
Bravo also over-emphasized on your whole overall goal to get into harvard. I can see why you would want to get admitted into an instiution of that prestigue because they do have the number one research orientated medical school in the nation regarding research obviously but did you know that 80% of every class graduating gets magna cum or higher? hmmmm..talk about grade inflation? I understand they admit the brightest or cream of the crop but talk about grade inflation? As a incoming college freshmen myself, overall it doesn't matter where you get your degree as long as you made the best of your undergrad. experience. I don't know if I am being incorrect but did you say you wanted to be a head geneticist or head of a genetics firm?
I am sure you'll have no problem getting into a school and please don't fret over the silly SATs, college board is a bunch of money hungry goons manipulating the middle class and wealthy into believing the score on a standardized test will determine how they will do or compare to the rest of a large number of applicants. I really don't get why our society emphasizes on numbers when our nation needs to work on getting our students to push their mental capacity by expanding on creativity and focusing on unstructured activities.
I can't wait to see more and you people aren't as different as any other teenagers, well you guys do have huge bank accounts and the freedom of the city.
Camille, You are already by far my favorite NYC Prep student. Well both you and Kelli. You seem like a person with a lot of depth and someone with a good head on their shoulders. I think its great that you state your opinions, and I HAD to laugh when you called PC abrasive (well his statement). I honestly think that your above PC and you need to ditch him. hahaha. I can smell is stuck up snoody attitude from where I'm sitting watching my television. On another note, WATCH OUT FOR TAYLOR. I know the sneaky ones when I see them. She seems like the type who would stab you in the back to get what she wants. Other then that, keep up the awesomeness.! =] ...and good luck with those college apps. They are HELL to fill out. haha
Camille, i abolutely adore your attitude. i think you and kelli are the only sensible ones on the show. and compared to the rest of the cast, way more mature. keep up the great work Camille and if you can give some advice to Jessi who is obviously lost in translation with PC.
Camille, you are probably the most stylish and unique of all of your fellow cast mates. You seem to be calm in all the chaos of reality TV, Junior year, and your social life of course. I love that you are still under control and are always there for your good friends like Kelli.
okay so i love the show but i really don't think it's necessary to brag that you only missed two questions on the math section of the SAT...kind of annoying
I don't like PC, He's a lame, disrespectful, cocky dude..I can't stand people who act like that. With that type of attitude he have, he will never get far in life.I wiish I was on this show..Me and him would of been fighting. But Camillie I like you..you seem like a cool chick.
I definitely know what you mean about competence over connections. And, it's not bad to obsess over one or two different colleges, the more research you know about a school the more impressive it is. Also, you obviously did GREAT on your SATs, and it's okay to brag a little... what's the point of working so hard and not being able to brag or appreciate it?
Camille, you and Kelli by far are my favorite people on the show. Your drive and ambition will get you far. You are very mature for your age and have a great sense of style. You were obviously raised with a good head on your shoulders despite being surrounded by oppulent wealth and greed. You seem very appreciative of everything you have, and I commend you for that. Congrats on your amazing SAT scores and good luck on getting into the college of your choice.

I say brag on about your SAT score its something to be proud of i got a 2280 As far as PC is concerned im pretty sure that the fact he does not get punished shows how much little care then his parents have in his life.....this can develop children of lost causes...you sound very smart and well versed keep at it!
Camille you have a good head on your shoulders. Keep aiming high and working hard! The one thing Jamie fails to realize is that being friendly to you at the art show and meeting influential people are not mutually exclusive. She could have been more friendly in meeting you and go on to her career networking agenda. Burning bridges with people is never a good idea, young or old, big or small. For all you know you might work in a company that Jamie wants to get into one day, and you will remember her abrasiveness and not open that gate for her! It's really a smaller world than she thinks. As for PC, it looks like he likes drama.
Hey Camille
I like you. You are unique and have spunk. And maybe this show will help you get into Harvard. Anyways you should reveal what SAT score you got. That's pretty damn awesome cause mine was a 2200. So how'd you do? And its cool I want to get into an Ivy League too. So good for you. Gotta have high goals and get into college. You don't want to be a loser. Anyways yeah how'd you do on the SAT and what else are you doing to prepare for college.

Not to be discredit what you said about going to a "Harvard"-like school but there are few schools that are of that caliber. So for you to mention wanting to go there excessively it came off as that's YOUR school and where you see yourself most comfortable. I'm not saying you can't mention it but never once did I hear another Ivy League school mentioned.
