I hope you all enjoyed the first episode, cause it made me cringe a bit. Simply, because it was the worst 5 seconds out of the hours filmed that was chosen to make the first episode. Hopefully you guys will get to know me better as the season continues. You will get to realize that I’m quite idiosyncratic and strange and not nearly as boring as the first episode portrayed. Now to get to go what did see in this first episode starting with my party...
This party was held over December break. Everyone was away and I decided to have a party because, breaks in the city can feel simply put, dragged out. Now, usually, everywhere I go is a pretty fun party but this one pretty much sucked. Since so many people were away it was quite boring. So, when Camille said, “How did you get forced into being here?” there should have been a moment when I should have felt enraged, but there wasn’t. I was actually thinking the same thing myself, but more like, “How can I escape?”
Mixing my friends from private and public school wasn’t even the issue here. I love my friends from public school and I love my friends from private school. Each and every one of them are different and some of my public school friends actually have more money that some of my friends from private school. I think the real difference between my private and public school friends are that my public school friends tend to be less naïve. And actually are more independent. They rely less on connections to get places they want to go.
In this first episode PC mentions how the city is all about connections and I guess this just proves the point about how the city is different for everyone. Some people meet people for the connections, others meet people to expand their horizons. Every person living in the city has a different life and that’s the wonderful thing about the Big Apple. You can make so much out of every experience here and the experiences tend to be so grand you could never imagine how amazing life here is until you’ve lived it.
Hey Taylor, I just watched the first episode tonight and I hooked LOL it was pretty good. Umm.. I've lived in NYC and I know what it's like, (great ;D ) but are YOU GUYS on the show really just talk about you're houses ant The Hamptons and your money, ect. ? Well, i have to say you are my FAve of the show and I love your style I mean you dress super cute. Can't wait till next episode!!
P.S.- lighten up a little with your mom haha she looks cool
Taylor, respect your mother! What you say about your mother says a lot of you as a daughter. You only have one mother in this world and you need to cherish her. (And I mean this with lots of love.)
- I like you the best!
Based on the first episode, I was worried that you did not have much of a personality. But after reading this blog post, you seem smart and interesting! I hope future episodes highlight your personality better.
Hey just wanted to say that you seem grounded and I hope you stay that way. Your also very cute and I hope you do not fawn over your friends from the upper class of soceiety in the city. Also your mother worries about you because she loves you so do not dismiss her questions. Being young in the city can be fun but it can also be dangerous so make sure you are always around friends when venturing out. Also embrace your mother and do not allow the city life to consume your time. I can see how many guys will be taken in by you since yoiu are very pretty and bright! Well love show and keep up the good work
Be your sweet self and you will go far. The others are in it for possible fame, but their actions won't get them much.
Taylor- After watching the frist episode, you are my favorite. I am only just entering public high school, but I can tell that you have a good head on your shoulders. I really look foward to getting to know you as the season goes on! -Olivia
Taylor, I've watched the first episode over and over again. I really enjoy your down-to- earth attitude. I think it's good that you threw a party even if it wasn't a success. Keli and Camille seem a little mopre materialisticl than you. I think it helps that you have public and private school friends in the mix. NYC Prep reminds me of the show Gossip Girl only this is real and happening. x0x0 Sydney
Honestly, this show should not even be on television. It is a show about teenagers trying to be adults, not teenagers being teenagers. I did not watch it, I will not watch it, I will not let my teenagers watch it.
I think you are a sweetheart. It is nice to see that you are not bragging about everything that you have been blessed to receive. And although it seems your mom is constantly around and may even be annoying at time, just bear with it. It is better that she cares and is visibily concerned that you travel the right path. That is great. I am astonished that Kelli's parents can let their kids loose in a city as fast and vicious as New York, and visit once a week. Unbelievable. Stay true to who you are, not what money can make you think you may be.
I think you're the most down-to-earth person on the show, but i dont understand why u hang with Camille and Kelli because it seems like u dont have nothing in common with them, i'm sure there are other private school kids u can hang with besides them
Thank you Taylor! I am appalled at the whole "I go to parties to make connections" thing. How pathetic! Its nice you go to have fun and make friends! :) I live in NYC as well, and the whole social climbing thing is a little sad. Just work hard, keep the same friends you had your whole life on the way up! Then add new ones as your interests expand! THAT is a truly successful person! Your parents raised you well!
Wow we have the same promblem but its kinda different its hard mixing my friends from public and private schools. I go to Nightingale-Bamford School and I have frinds that also go to Stuyvesnt High,,
That was an interesting first episode. It wasn't bad though. I thought it was very typical modern day high school life. At least, for me.
You're actually my favourite on the show. Like everyone else said, you really seem the most down-to-earth on this show. I can tell your parents raised you well. Anyways, keep on what you're doing! Hope to see more of NYC Prep!
Taylor, you are by far my favorite on this show. everyone else seems to be so materialistic and all about parties and blowing cash. you should feel greatful your mother is the way she is, at least she is there. the other kids are much too young to be living on their own. you're right about you public school kids becoming more independent because the private school kids are not using their own money and they are always out and partying. i'd love to have a friend like you. (: -Lynn in VA
Girl, you're my instant fave on the show. Stay true. Do you. Your mom seems like a pretty cool lady too. I'm definitively intrigued by the show. I can relate to being raise by a single, divorced mother so in some ways it's like looking in the mirror. Looking forward to the future sodes.
Heyy! I'm instantly hooked with watching NYC Prep. I'm totally jealous of the lifestyle you guys have. If i were you, i'd definitely with no doubt love my life as well. It would be amazing to meet you in real person and to actually experience your lifestyle for once. (:
I don't know why there aren't any posts expressing concern about the content of this show. But I have noticed some non-positive comments have been pulled! What's going on?
Hey Taylor I live in the city as well and agree with you completely. It is the type of place where teens are forced to make decisions that could give them a certain reputation. I'm interested in ur thoughts on the uptown schools vs. the downtown school. (private and public) The dynamics are very different in my mind. It manifests itself in a very interesting way...I would love to hear your thoughts!
Taylor, You are my favorite person on this show. You seem to be really down-to-earth, and have seen both sides of public and private schools. The other people on this show are to put it honestly, very egotistical and materialistic. All they care about is "connections", like all there is to life is using people to get ahead. I am sure they have never worked an honest day in their lives. It is nice to know someone on this show is on planet Earth.
First of all i wanted to say that your my favorite on the show. When i saw the first episode and when i saw those other girls i cant even see how you can be around them. Im from the south (AL) and the girls here dont act as bad behavior and bitchy as them. This season dont put up with any crap they give you and if u like Sabastian then go for him!!!
hey taylor. well you go to my school since we were in the same science class freshman year, and you seem kind of different on tv. i did not know you hung out with a bunch of preppies. but nothing wrong with it. and i agree, some kids in our school actually DO have more money than some preppies. ;)
I just watched the show for who knows what reason but stay away from that P.C. He tries so hard to be grown up he ends up looking like a child. And kudos to you for not smoking.
Taylor you seem like a very cool, down to earth person, and you are my favorite on the show. I think it's great that you hang out with more than one kind of person.
Will you tell us in your blog how you met your private school friends? It seemed like you knew Camille from before.
You seem like one of the nicest, coolest, and the most down to earth girl on the show! You are by far my favorite!
you are awesome on the show. you sign your post as "Taylor Paige" yet on most sites and the Stuyvesant Spectator article, they refer to you as Taylor DiGiovanni. Did the reporter from Stuyvesant get it wrong? Is Paige your correct last name or is it a middle name?
You seem like a very sweet, smart young lady. You are my fav from the show. Jessie, PC, and Sebastian can really use some work.
Why do you fall for Sebastian? Well I understand that but why can you not see past his cover? His goals in life are to "Hook up with girls"
I watched the first episode, and you seemed the nicest and most down to earth of the bunch. I just wanted to say, I think an important thing about high school is finding yourself and figuring out who you are. In my opinion, that means taking some time to not really care what others think, especially if you don't feel comfortable with those people. Stay true yourself, and figure out who your real friends are. It may be a TV show for us, but the things you do shape your real life for you. Best of luck in it.
You seem to have a better handle on what real life is all about while the rest of the cast is living on fantasy island and clueless about what it would be like to live without their Daddy's money. Stay on the path you're on and stay away from that egotistical hair flipper..lol. Walk and hold your head high and don't follow the crowd. These people are lost and don't even know it...don't get lost with them. Be your own person, follow your own beat and don't be so flattered by a guy who looks at girls as conquests, you're worth much more than that girlfriend. You are just as pretty, smart and important as anyone on this show and in life...so don't act like you are less than them by fawning all over them because you are not less in any sense. Be proud of who you are. So...they have more money...what does that mean? That doesn't make them better or even more desireable to be around. Be proud of you and your family and don't feel that you have to hide the fact that you can't spend 500 bucks a day on whatever. There is no shame in that...so don't allow anyone to make you feel like there is shame in it...or that you're less valuable because of it. No one can make you feel something unless you allow it. Keep up the good work girl.
Hey! I honestly think your a really cool girl. I live in California in the OC and I understand where you are coming from because a lot of people act like that around here. It is nothing really. It's no big deal and I find it funny when people who live in like the MidWest freak out and are like super jealous. It just normal lifestyle. Anyways can't wait to keep watching you
While I dont have good things to say about the show as a whole, from what I saw you seem the most genuine and level-headed out of the bunch,so kuddos to you and I hope you stay that way! To your castmates though.. They all have the egos and irrogance of NYC combined, and quite frankly NONE of them are attractive to be bragging about! While this kind of shows are entertaining, it only is because it is ammusing to watch teenagers make fools of themselves on tv. Neither them or their parents should ever be proud of their actions and attitudes, more or less think its a good idea to make obscene behavior public..so to the rest of your castmates loose the attitude and ego cuz your ugly as hell and fyi your not "wealthy" or rich, your parents are..so enjoy it while it lasts because it doesnt look like you have anything else going for you
But love you taylor! sorry i had to put all that on yours, it was just easier to put it all in one. Good luck in high school sweetie!
i think you are my favourite person on the show so far. i don't get why everyone is saying you're their favourite character...you're a real person, not fiction.
you are by far the coolest and most likeable character on the show! keep doing what you're doing and you're way to good for sebastion!
I hope that you a really smart enough to now that money cant make things easy, but you know that you have to work hard to get what you really what in life make sure you do good in school even money cant get you into the college you what and working hard makes you feel good about yourself
I wathched the first episode, and Taylor seems like the nicest girl on the show. She doesn't seem fake at all. She kinda reminds me of Tessa from Laguna Beach. They both have sweet personalities compared to their other friends.
you don't act like spending hundreds of dollars on a simple dress is ok, you don't try to act like your better than anyone, you get shy around a guy and you dislike talking to your mom about things. of all of the girls on the show you seem to be more of the real every-day girl, more like someone id actually hang out with. though i will say you concentrate on being "cool/popular" a little too much, just be yourself.
Taylor, you are my favorite on the show. You are so sweet and honest. What is with the girl named Jessie? She is jealous of every girl that comes along and is so immature. Poor girl...she needs help. Where is her mother to help her out?
Being the only person on the show to come from a public school & the show being names "NYC Prep" I am surprised with Bravo. I am happy they put someone that wasn't in the "circle" of popularity, money & connections. I thought it was RIDICULOUS when you were questioned by Camille & Kelli about your dinner date. They seem like they are just jealous of your connection with him. I know that you know how then ended up & I hope that you show the "private school girls" that you don't need money & connections to become known in the city, even with boys.
taylor you're my favorite person on the show. you're like the only normal one who's actually smart and makes smart decisions. im a fan :)
