Luis D. Ortiz

Luis D. Ortiz was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and raised, along with his twin brother Daniel, in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. With eight years of real estate experience under his belt, Luis has helped major figures in New York City—from partners at Goldman Sachs to celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Sandra Lee—find their dream homes. While working at some of New York's most successful boutique brokerages such as Prodigy Network and Synergy, he had the opportunity to represent the most prestigious developments in the downtown area, including the Cipriani Residences (55 Wall Street), The Setai (40 Broad Street), and The District (111 Fulton Street). Luis decided to further his career at Keller Williams NYC where he quickly rose to the rank of Vice President. In August of 2013, Ortiz joined forces with New York's #1 real estate brokerage firm Douglas Elliman and founded his own real estate Team - The Luis D. Ortiz Team. In 2014 he was awarded the Pinnacle Award.

Before establishing himself as a top broker in NYC's real estate industry, Luis studied film direction at New York's Film Academy, completing the Director's Program in 2006. As a student, he managed to direct and produce short films and several music videos including "Amalia"—which earned him the Best Director Award at the 2007 Puerto Rico Film Festival—and "Dentro de Mi" by Chino y Nacho featuring Grammy-winning artist Don Omar. Working on such projects gave Luis the opportunity to travel to various cities in Mexico, Colombia, Bolivia, and the United States.

Luis implemented his experience as a director and producer into his real estate career by treating every aspect of the sale process as a production. He directs transactions from the marketing of a property to the full execution of a contract. By maintaining all parties involved, Luis manages to deliver impeccable service to his customers. Over time, this has enabled him to develop an extensive and ever-evolving knowledge of the real estate market and to fully understand and meet every client's needs. Although Luis has sold more than $100 million in residential real estate over the past three years, he asserts that the adrenaline rush from the real estate transaction and his drive to succeed have been his main motivations.

Recently, Luis has been a main speaker at various business and career-related seminars, where he has focused on the importance of self-knowledge as a key to personal growth and success. He is looking forward to inspiring young people to reach their dreams through future speaking engagements.
