Born in Hilo, Chef Sheldon acquired his love for cooking from his parents. His path led from Hilo High to the Culinary Institute of the Pacific onto an internship at Walt Disney World. Upon returning to Hawaii, Sheldon attended Maui Culinary Academy then landed at the acclaimed Star Noodle. Sheldon competed in the 10th season of Bravo Network’s Top Chef: Seattle as a finalist and winning Fan Favorite. He is currently executive chef at Mala Wailea and recently opened his signature restaurant MiGRANT, both located in the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on Maui. Recently Sheldon was named on Hawaii Magazine’s Top 5 Best Hawaiian Chefs of 2014 and voted FOOD & WINE Magazines 2014 People’s Best New Chef for the Pacific & Northwest.
