First of all, I am so thrilled that this season opens with my pregnancy announcement. For those of you who know what we went through over the last few years, I still can't believe that we have been so blessed to have three children. It is a dream come true and I'm so excited to share some of that journey with you!
On a totally different note (and in case you are wondering, no, I did not eat my own placenta) I know that placenta smoothie has forever stuck in your mind as potentially the craziest smoothie to go down in history. It was certainly a surreal moment as I was chopping blueberries, bananas and dark chocolate shavings, oh, and a big hunk of placenta at about 3am in the morning. Look, I am serious about meeting my clients’ needs! I hear you asking why oh why did Christina want to eat it. Well the theory goes that the hormones in a placenta can help to ward off postpartum depression. The scientific evidence is lacking, but the theory is certainly compelling and the placebo effect very powerful, so if it helps and the placenta is healthy, then who am I to judge?
