Erica: "I'm Far From Perfect"

Erica explains why she couldn't wait for Chanel on the boat and says what she really thinks about Casey.

By Erica Gimbel

It is progress not perfection.

"For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same; there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again." -- The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

I want to share with you all, which I believe, throughout this season I have been clear on; I am far from perfect and have my issues. This is something I have learned and come to accept. I should never be ashamed; I must, as everyone else who relates should embrace them. I also want to emphasize that one should never judge another unless they have walked in a mile their shoes. I truly try to live by this. I have a big heart and always act and behave with the best intentions for those I love and care for. I am truly blessed to have some amazing friendships like Joey, Chanel, and Amanda and a family that always stands by my side. I am so grateful beyond words could ever explain for the love and support that I have in my life. I would like to especially thank my father for taking off time from work and for his Captain Tommy, first mate, and of course Rob for showing my friends such an amazing day.

On a different note, Ashlee and I have been close and maybe there are things regarding our friendship that are not as they seem. Times over the past year when she was sick I always there for her and vice versa. But, not everything is seen. And from my point of view it almost seems like they were completely forgotten about. However, at the winery I said things out of anger I was wrong for. I never said Ashlee's parents were “short f---s” I said they were short. Regardless of what I said it was wrong. No matter the type of friend Ashlee has been to me and how angry I was there is no excuse for that. I deeply apologize to her and parents if I offended them in anyway. Her parents and sister were always nothing but beyond warm and loving to me and I think they are great people. I wish I could take back what I said, but we all make mistakes. . .especially when we feel angry.

I am really glad looking back that Chanel stayed back to make sure Ashlee was okay. She has always been in the middle and for that I feel terribe. She is a pacifist and just wants everyone to get along. I am grateful for her and that she is such an amazing friend and beautiful person inside and out. As much as I wanted to help her I hope it is understood that my father and his boat crew were already waiting two hours for us and I had to choose between staying and going to meet my dad.

All I ever wanted was for everyone to get along to move past the issues that were continuously stirring up. I would like to take the time to make this very clear. I tried my very best to do this. I apologized when I was wrong and have tried to do right by everyone.

Casey, I apologized numerous time to you and did my best to make things right. I understand you are loyal to those you care about and are as you say an amazing friend. I included you to come on the boat trip and instead of saying you appreciated the gesture or thank you. . .you made it clear how much you hate to be on a boat with me. It was just over and over again upsetting after we settled things between you and I just felt it was really necessary to blog mean and judgmental things about me.

I think Ashlee, Casey, Joey, Chanel, Amanda, and myself all know too well we are six women who have strong outspoken personalities. We have had our differences and our ups and downs, but I am grateful I was a part of #princesses. I am so thankful for what I have learned about friendship, love, life, and myself. I only look forward to more times.

Thank you all for listening and for your continued support of Princesses! It has truly been an amazing experience I am beyond grateful I got to be a part of. Keep in touch!
