Wow! Now that was a premiere episode! KAMTASIC!
Are you hooked? I sure am!
Before we get into all of that, I first wanted to introduce myself. My name is Joey Lauren Brodish but everyone knows me simply by Joey (and recognizes me as @Joey_Lauren). I wanted to thank all of you for not only tuning into our new series #Princesses: Long Island, but for taking the time to check out my personal blog here on BravoTV.com! I plan to use this outlet to make you smile, certainly laugh, give my two cents, and answer any questions you may have.
Now back to the fun stuff -- Erica’s pool party. As always, it was a ton of fun and had its fair share of drama. As you can see, not too much has changed since our high school days. Let me tell you about some of the guests I brought. Yes, some of my guy friends are all pretty fit but only two were trainersm, and who better to bring to a pool party? I like something nice to look at and I thought so would you -- the other two gentleman work for a technology company.
Now the moment you all have been waiting for: who is “Red Bikini” Sara and why did I bring her to the party?!
Oy vey! To this day, I am still asking myself that question. Sara and I have several mutual friends, but we just officially met each other this year. She is outgoing, social, and typically kind. This was the first time I saw her out of sorts.
You are the only one who knows how to write commentary with proper English. The other girls blogs were difficult to read. They would have many different subjects in the same paragraph. Your intelligence has shined through. I can't wait to get to know you better this season! I'm sure you will remain fan favorite.
Sarah needs to watch out. The next time she gets out of line, it might not be a drink hitting her. Looks like she may have pre-partied before showing up. Unless she gets sauced after a couple of glasses on Maney.
I understand that you didn't want to involve yourself in petty fighting and bad behavior, however, you brought Sarah, and she was completely out of line, not to mention rude. You absolutely should have told her to either clean up her behavior, or leave. She wasn't an invited guest of the hostess, you brought her.
Joey - You are the only saving grace to this show.
I grew up in DIx Hills, All my friends driving brand new BMWS while i drove a pinto.I know what Long Island is like, and i guess because the show is specifically about PRINCESSES, it comes of as Long Island's Jersey Shore. A general view of the Stereotype.
Keep it real! and good luck to you!
Joey - I was also taken aback at her reaction - First & foremost she seemed to go the wrong way - Being from Oceanside with many friends in Freeport, seeing the different houses and people she passed I know where in abouts she was. I am happy also to see the S.Shore represented! Keep it Real for the Real Long Islanders!
You and Chanel are the only ones who were not offensive or rude! I'm Jewish and am embarrassed that these are the girls representing our culture.
I also grew up in Freeport, and I can attest that a) Ashlee's freakout was completely ridiculous and b) she wasn't even in the 'bad' part of the village. I was happy to see that the South Shore was represented by what seems to be the only down to earth girl on the show.
How do you hang out with these girls and not want to pull your hair out? They act like they're still in high school...in fact a couple of their blogs actually sound like they were written by teenage girls. I hope we eventually see a more mature side to them in the coming weeks.
You should take a road trip with your friend Ashlee and show her what a real ghetto neighborhood looks like.
I see already you are viewer favorite! As you should be!
I also was put off by Ashlee's freak-out on camera, on the way to pick you up! Did not know it would TELEVISED? Please!
I also agree with the post below that you could have and should have pulled Sara aside! That wouldn't put you in the middle of their stupid fight, but it would have diffused the situation for your part in inviting her!
While I completely understand not wanting to get involved in other people's battles, this was not a case where two friends were just fighting at a party. Sara was not invited on her own by the host. You invited her as your guest. Therefore, part of your responsibility (by she being your guest) is that if she is out of control and causing trouble, you step in and either help diffuse the situation or get her out of there. That would have been the gracious thing to do.
I too grew up in not the best neighborhood, but am a far better person for it. I can't believe Ashlee was freaked out by a green fence. This girl needs too "grow up" and I don't mean by getting taller heals. Love the show and u r my fav!
@SFViewer Oh you got to it first! I thought I was going to be the first to call Joey "Baby Betheny"! From the little we've seen I have a feeling that Joey not only looks like Betheny, but she is going to act like Betheny too.
@jfigs totally agree!
@Fluff I totally agree with you, Fluff. Joey may be the only one from the South Shore, but for the most part the other girls from the North Shore, especially Ashlee, show very little class. Joey you can walk with your head up high Girl..you're something special!
