Zulema Griffin began her career as a fashion model with the prestigious Ford modeling agency; gracing the pages of Bazaar, The Face, I.D., Essence, Interview and Paper magazines. She has worked with photographers such as Peter Lindberg, Steven Klein, Barron Claiborne, and Nina Schultz. At the start of her career as a model, she went on castings during the day and worked nights as a hostess in New York City's choice restaurants. It was while she was hostessing when Zulema stumbled upon her dream career. Having training from Parson's School of Design and an affinity towards fashion, Zulema insisted upon wearing her own garments. One evening, a patron took notice of dress she was wearing of her own design. He turned out to be a director looking to staff his costume department. In June of 2001, Zulema found herself successfully running the costume department of her first film, a feature titled "Love Thy Neighbor", directed by Nick Gregory. The director of photography was impressed with Zulema's talent and recommended her for a film titled "The Beatle Fan." The movie was costume designed by Zulema and screened at the Tribeca Film Festival. Since her first feature in 2001, Zulema has worked on a slew of exciting films and talent. She has worked with actors Adrian Grenier, Emily Deschanel, Willie Garson, Peter Stromare, Erik Estrada, and Leila Arcieri. Although Zulema has enjoyed a successful career as a model, she has opted for life behind the runway. She presented her very first fashion collection complete with accessories for Spring 2003 and is creating original garments upon request.
